The Second Son of The Marquis Runs Away from Home ~ Lacking Talent, He Abandons Everything and Becomes an Adventurer ~ - 165
Chapter 165: Baptism
The left Golem swung its sword arm downward towards me. I dodged to the side, riding on the blade as it descended like a guillotine.
With a bardiche in hand, I followed the path of its right arm. Another Golem thrust its sword towards me.
“Gale’s Protection: Follow Wind!”
I leaped, evading the thrust, and then jumped again, this time with the wind enveloping me. Rotating my body, I drove the bardiche into the head resembling a helmet.
The struck Golem, its head shattered by the bardiche, staggered back a few steps but showed no signs of stopping. It was likely the type that wouldn’t halt until it was completely destroyed or its core was shattered.
The Golem behind me swept its shield arm horizontally. Using Wind Step, I avoided it by jumping below and then leaped again just before hitting the floor, diving under the Golem’s feet. I thrust my sword into its ankle joint.
Running up, I attacked its knee, groin, and joints with a spear and sword, but the armor on its chest proved to be too thick and hard to break with a single blow.
(If there’s a core, it must be here…)
With a crossbow in each hand, I shot arrows into the Golem’s elbow joints and drove stakes into the gaps in its helmet to secure it to its chest.
The Golem tried to shake me off, but the weapons embedded in its body hindered its movements, making it slow and sluggish.
The Golem, whose head had been destroyed, swung its sword vigorously at me. I released the chains and dodged, causing the Golem’s sword to stop midway and shatter its chest, crushing its core.
As the sword embedded halfway stopped its movement, I adjusted my posture in midair, holding up a spear. Darkness enveloped its tip.
The spear, gathering force as it spiraled, was thrown with great momentum. With a burst-like sound, it flew straight towards the Golem’s chest.
Upon impact, the spiral darkness pierced through the thick armor of the Golem, breaking through without losing momentum. The spiraling tip stirred and crushed the Golem’s insides, piercing through its back and sticking into the wall.
As I landed on the ground, both Golems collapsed with a thunderous roar, eventually turning into magic stones.
(How’s the other side?)
Turning around, I saw Aria cleaving the Skull General in half and Serena shielding against the flames from the Origin Chimera’s breath while defending against the Goblin Lord’s magic.
Accelerating with Wind Step towards the Origin Chimera, I swiftly approached. As the snake tail on its back bared its fangs, I used a reversed grip on a small sword to parry it.
The moment all three heads of the Origin Chimera turned towards me, arrows fell from above, piercing each of their eyes precisely. Seizing the opportunity, I swung the two-handed sword, shrouded in darkness, upwards.
“Hyaaa!!”
The blade, wrapped in darkness, severed the heads of the goat and lion simultaneously. Then, with the two-handed sword still infused with power, I struck downwards, smashing the dragon’s head. Just before hitting the ground, I swung upwards again, tearing the torso of the Origin Chimera in half.
As the form of the Origin Chimera crumbled into magic stones, I saw the Goblin Lord with its back turned towards me. I reverted the two-handed sword back into a sword and grabbed the magic stone of the Origin Chimera.
Vines rapidly grew around the Goblin Lord’s feet, entangling it. As the Goblin Lord fell and stumbled, an arrow from above pierced its head, pinning it to the floor.
As the Goblin Lord turned into a magic stone, Shurin, who had been near the ceiling, descended to retrieve the magic stone and returned to us.
“Was it unnecessary intervention?”
“No, thanks to Berk lending his power, it ended quickly.”
“Yeah, it might have taken a bit longer otherwise.”
Aria and Serena confirmed each other’s condition after collecting the magic stones. It seemed they had defeated the enemies without any injuries or exhaustion.
“That concludes the lower level.”
“Yes… But we have no choice but to continue.”
“Yeah, let’s move forward.”
With Aria’s words, we nodded and proceeded forward once again…
