The Second Son of The Marquis Runs Away from Home ~ Lacking Talent, He Abandons Everything and Becomes an Adventurer ~ - 173
Chapter 173: The Golden Demon
“Hya!”
Gridwen hurled chakrams the size of carriage wheels towards us.
We dodged left and right as the chakrams carved arcs into the floor before returning to Gridwen’s hands. Then, it swung its sword at us.
I quickly blocked with my sword, but Gridwen came at us with its remaining three arms wielding an axe, staff, and chakram.
I transformed my sword into a spear to parry Gridwen’s sword and chakram, while simultaneously catching its axe and staff with the other hand holding a double-edged sword. With black iron boots, I delivered a front kick.
(Heavy!?)
As Gridwen staggered from the kick, Aria followed up with a flaming slash. Serena restrained Gridwen’s legs with water, and Shurin’s arrow pierced its forehead, shattering the mask along with its head.
“Huh, is it over?”
Gridwen’s body collapsed to the ground, but a strong light emitted from its decapitated head, reflecting off the room’s decorations.
“Urgh!?”
While shielding my eyes with my arm, I sensed the light weakening. I opened my eyes slightly to see Gridwen regenerating its head and rising to its feet.
Gridwen’s mask had taken on a more sinister shape after regeneration, and its slender body and weapons appeared larger.
“So, you got stronger after resurrection?”
Gridwen attacked again with laughter, overpowering us with even greater force than before. It became clear that the weapons were not just for show.
Shurin shot three arrows simultaneously, but Gridwen exuded gold, which intercepted the arrows.
Throwing its chakram, Gridwen approached Serena and Shurin with tremendous speed. Serena’s water shield blocked the chakram, but its relentless rotation gradually wore down the shield.
“Aria!”
I attacked with my sword enveloped in darkness. When Gridwen’s golden membrane was torn, we seized the opportunity to sever its arms together.
“Gugh…”
With all its arms severed, I smashed Gridwen’s head with the Kopis sword, splitting it open from head to chest. Dark energy emanated from the blade as it released darkness.
“How about this?”
The black storm that erupted from the blade formed a spiral, and with a thunderous roar, Gridwen’s upper body shattered into pieces. I then smashed its lower body with the Kopis sword.
As Gridwen was shattered into pieces, the chakram lost its momentum and fell. However, the room began to glow, enveloping everything in intense light.
The weapons that fell in the light began to gather and reshape themselves. And then, Gridwen, now even more powerful, stood up, clanging its weapons.
“No way… Immortal?”
“I wonder.”
While responding to Aria’s murmur, I pondered. Was there something we overlooked in the carvings on the door and our battle experience?
“Gehihi!”
Gridwen laughed as it brandished its staff. Sensing danger, Aria and I stepped back together, but lightning surged from the staff, striking throughout the room…
