The Second Son of The Marquis Runs Away from Home ~ Lacking Talent, He Abandons Everything and Becomes an Adventurer ~ - 179
Chapter 179: The Steel Elder
“Don’t get ahead of yourselves, mere illusions!”
The monstrous creature shouted as it swung its axe. Its massive body, covered in numerous armors, resembled the metal that made up the guard machines, but it bore scars and rust in various places.
“You soulless pieces of junk! I’ll teach you how we fought in my time!”
After cleaving one entity in half with his axe and smashing the head of a nearby guard machine on the floor, the creature, with a face resembling that of an old man with a beard, turned its arm, transformed into a cannon, towards the remaining one and fired.
The guard machine, its sturdy armor destroyed, collapsed and turned into a magic stone. The creature picked up the magic stone, carried it to its mouth, and swallowed it.
“Hah! Still not enough! It keeps dwindling day by day! At this rate, my decay is just a matter of time!”
The axe transformed into a staff, and the creature, who had just engaged in fierce combat, bent over and tapped its waist, displaying a demeanor that seemed to belong to an old man wearing decaying armor.
“Are you monsters…?”
“From what I see, no…”
“You there! Come out of hiding!”
While facing our direction, the creature shouted. After some hesitation, we obediently stepped forward.
The creature peered at me and frowned upon seeing the Chaos Crusader in my hand.
“Human…? And all of you possess magical armaments!?”
“Magical armaments?”
“That weapon! It possesses the power to tilt a kingdom with a single swing… It is the pinnacle of magical artifacts that the creators once sought to produce!”
In this brief conversation, several intriguing words came up, but I decided to ask about the most pressing matter.
“Who are you? Aren’t you a monster?”
“A monster?! Don’t compare me to those mere illusions! I am Blastpain! A Guardian Armorloid, created by the creators to protect this tower!”
“…So you’re not a monster, but you protect the tower? We came to stop the Fifth from doing something terrible in this tower.”
“The Fifth? Is that the swordsman with white hair!?”
“No, that swordsman is called Lourd and is cooperating with the Fifth… Do you know him?”
“He’s the man who destroyed me twice and turned my brethren into junk! It’s his fault that I’m on the brink of collapse right now!”
Blastpain, tapping the floor with his staff, raged. Each time he did so, small parts fell off, but he continued his outburst without concern. When he noticed the lanterns returning to normal, he clicked his tongue without hiding his displeasure.
“Hah! I can’t have a calm conversation in a place like this! Follow me!”
With grandiose footsteps, Blastpain left the room. For a moment, we exchanged glances and pondered.
“What should we do?”
“…He doesn’t seem like an enemy. Let’s follow him.”
With that conclusion, we followed behind.
