The Second Son of The Marquis Runs Away from Home ~ Lacking Talent, He Abandons Everything and Becomes an Adventurer ~ - 180
Chapter 180: Era of the Creators
Following Blastpain, we came to a stop at an ordinary-looking wall. After tapping it several times with his staff, the wall deformed, revealing a passage.
We followed Blastpain inside, and as the wall closed behind us, lights illuminated the room. It was quite spacious, with a ceiling one floor higher, and there were unfamiliar devices on the walls.
But what caught our eyes the most were the scattered remnants resembling guard machines on the floor. There seemed to be over a hundred of them, scattered everywhere, with no chance of moving again.
“These are…”
“Our brethren.”
Blastpain answered as he sat down at the back of the room, then proceeded to remove armor from the remnants and put it back on himself.
“There were originally more brethren, but they were absorbed by the tower when destroyed. What’s here is only what I could retrieve.”
Perhaps due to the poor fit of the armor, Blastpain adjusted it several times. As I watched the magic move when he did so, I offered him a magic stone from my bag.
“Hmm?”
“If it’s alright, please use this.”
“…?”
While the bag could hold a considerable amount, there was a limit. I extended the surplus magic stone to Blastpain, who fell silent for a moment but then took the stone and swallowed it.
As he chewed the magic stone and moved his body, it seemed that the armor had settled. Overall, his body seemed to have tightened somewhat.
“It’s been a while since I replenished this much magic. I’ll thank you for this.”
“It’s fine. More importantly, can I ask you about what happened to this tower and you?”
When I asked, Blastpain frowned but began to recount his past, as if recalling it.
“I don’t remember how long ago it was, but there was once an era of great prosperity in this land.”
“Such an era…”
“…But that era came to an end because of him!”
“Him?”
Blastpain muttered with evident annoyance, and even his words conveyed considerable anger.
“He appeared suddenly when conflicts arose among the races! The forests of the elves! The mountains of the dwarves! The cities of humans all faced destruction, and lives were consumed!”
“Consumed? By whom?”
“I don’t know the details! But the creators called him the Demon God ‘Il Eater’!”
“Il Eater”… Literally translated as “Eater of Illumination,” does this mean that ancient civilizations were destroyed by him?
“Il Eater was impervious to everything! Dwarven weapons! Elven magic! Human technology! Nothing worked against him! But finally, the creators created a device as a countermeasure! That’s this tower!”
“What?”
I glanced around involuntarily. Certainly, the devices around were far more advanced than current technology, but if the tower itself was a device, it was beyond imagination.
“The device to capture Il Eater as a conceptual entity and banish him to another dimension… The Conceptual Armament ‘Flame Key of Heaven’s Gate’! With this, the creators sealed the Demon God and saved the world!”
“But at that time, only the creators and those around them survived. As a consequence of the device, this land turned into a barren land where thoughts gathered, giving birth to dungeons!”
…I was speechless at what Blastpain recounted. It was the history of the Magic Continent that no one knew, and it also proved the existence of the ancient civilization hinted at.
“The power to save the world can become the power to destroy it when transferred! Fearing that, the creators transformed this tower into a dungeon before they died and gave us the mission to protect it! Until that swordsman came, we faithfully upheld that mission!”
And so, the conversation shifted to the encounter with Lowd…
