The Second Son of The Marquis Runs Away from Home ~ Lacking Talent, He Abandons Everything and Becomes an Adventurer ~ - 183
Chapter 183: Execution
The Archangel grabbed Serena’s waist while running and dodged to the left as she swung down her flaming club. Aria and Shurin dodged to the right.
Flames spewed from the swung club. Serena diverted the flames with wind magic, while using her water shield to protect Aria and the others.
“Aria! Don’t use fire!”
“Huh!?”
“There’s a rule in this room forbidding the use of fire! If you break it, strong monsters will appear to punish!”
“…Ugh! But I’m not very good at other types of magic!”
Upon hearing my words, Aria immediately dispelled the flames she had conjured. She then infused her sword with wind magic to deflect the raging flames.
Shurin shot arrows at the Archangel while avoiding the flames. However, the agile Archangel swiftly moved its large shield to deflect the arrows. It then swung its club, causing a storm of flames to erupt.
Thanks to Serena’s water shields, the flames were contained, but the Archangel’s strength and resilience were undoubtedly equivalent to a mid-boss.
“…We have no choice.”
We couldn’t afford a prolonged battle, especially in the toughest dungeon. If we held back and ended up exhausted, it would be pointless.
…So, we needed to finish this quickly.
“Everyone, cover me!”
With darkness enveloping my sword, I ran forward. Serena’s water magic diverted the raging flames, clearing a path.
As the Archangel attempted to strike me with its club, Shurin shot an arrow into the gap in its cheek, while Aria slashed at its ankles.
“Stay back!”
Upon my command, Aria and the others immediately distanced themselves from the Archangel. Using Wind Step, they leaped up to the Archangel’s head and swung their swords, shrouded in a storm of darkness, downward.
The storm of darkness poured down on the Archangel, restraining it. As I uttered powerful words while plunging into the tunnel formed by thousands of black blades, I clad myself in jet-black armor.
“Deploy Armor – Chaos Crusader Veiled in Darkness!”
As I surged through the tunnel, gathering the storm of darkness onto my sword, I struck down upon the Archangel’s head. The sword, shrouded in darkness, shattered its sturdy helmet as it descended.
“Black Blade Storm Bringer!”
As I landed, unleashing the sword transformed into a magical weapon that cleaved and crushed everything in its path, I released the armor. The Archangel, now split in half, collapsed, dropping its club and shield to the ground.
With a deafening roar, the fallen Archangel’s massive body crumbled. I reached up to grab the fallen magic stone and took a moment to catch my breath, realizing we had managed to break through.

“So, this floor has rules, and breaking them leads to fighting boss-level monsters?”
“Yeah, judging from the door and the shield of that monster, it seems like they’re enforcers meant to administer punishment.”
“That’s troublesome. If the next floor is in the same state as that door, we can’t be sure what rules exist.”
“And even with various rules in mind, it’s still dangerous to fight those angels.”
Shurin’s words were true. Even before fusing, the angels were quite formidable among monsters. If we restricted our fighting methods recklessly, the difficulty of defeating them wouldn’t change much.
“…For now, let’s move on. Let’s all anticipate the rules on the door and fight accordingly. If we end up breaking them, we’ll deal with it when the time comes.”
While feeling somewhat improvisational, we all proceeded forward into the depths.
