The Second Son of The Marquis Runs Away from Home ~ Lacking Talent, He Abandons Everything and Becomes an Adventurer ~ - 189
Chapter 189: Wings of the Opposite Poles
The sound of our swords clashing reverberated through the air, sparks flying as our swords collided repeatedly.
“Haha!”
“Haa!”
A particularly high-pitched sound echoed as our swords danced in the air, followed by our fists intersecting, striking each other across the helmets.
Stepping in, I punched his side, only to be struck back by his bow. With my fist still embedded in his side, he grabbed my shoulder, lifted me, and slammed me against the wall.
“Gu…!”
“Nuoaaaaah!”
Still pinned against the wall, Lowd dashed forward. Using me as leverage, he ran, carving the wall again with my body before lifting me and slamming me to the floor once more.
“Kaha…!”
As I collapsed onto the floor, Lowd raised his leg. Rolling to avoid it, the spot where I had been was crushed.
In a crawling position, I kicked up from below to deflect his arm, intending to fire a beam of light. Spinning like a top, I punched Lowd’s abdomen.
“Oraah!”
Grabbing Lowd’s horns as his head lowered, I punched his face upwards, then grabbed his horns and threw him away.
As Lowd stepped back, I ran towards him with my fists clenched. Suddenly, blades emerged from both of Lowd’s wrists.
I intercepted the swinging blades with my crossed arms, sparks flying as I dodged another swing, only to be struck from both sides, the force pushing me to my knees.
The blades pressed against my armor with tremendous force. Gritting my teeth, I tried to push back, but the blades slowly advanced.
“Oooooh!”
Wrapping my arm in darkness, I unleashed a shockwave, knocking Lowd back with a front kick as I rose to my feet.
Grabbing my sword, I prepared myself. Lowd also transformed his blades into a sword and aimed at me.
Simultaneously, we ran and swung our swords, meeting in a clash. Sparks flew as the blades scraped against each other, but when wings spread from Lowd’s back, he pushed me back with a flap, crashing into the wall.
Unable to withstand the force of the impact, the wall broke, and I was thrown outside. Activating “Eclipse,” I spread my wings, and Lowd descended from above, swinging his sword.
I parried with my sword while spreading my wings to fly. As we exchanged blows in midair, our gazes met.
Lowd’s wings gleamed as multiple beams of light approached me. Descending rapidly, I dodged the incoming beams, then countered Lowd, who approached with his sword, by shooting hundreds of arrows from my wings.
Ascending the outer wall of the tower while firing a crossbow, Lowd deftly maneuvered his wings to evade the arrows, then approached. Avoiding his swinging sword, I circled around the tower, and Lowd followed suit.
Clashing swords multiple times while grappling, we slammed each other into the tower. Holding onto the outer wall, we exchanged black arrows and white beams, then soared into the sky again.
In midair, we clashed once more, pushing each other away. Landing on the circular platform floating around the tower.
“You also have wings, huh? You truly surpass my expectations…”
Looking at me with his eyes shining through the helmet, Lowd’s gaze carried an intensity that seemed to scorch.
“It’s regrettable to kill you… But the joy of fighting against someone who can fully withstand everything I’ve cultivated, the frustration of not being able to defeat you even with all my power, it’s all so precious! My blood boils with joy and my soul trembles with excitement!”
Looking up at the sky, Lowd’s words were so powerful that they were almost mesmerizing.
“That’s right! This battle is truly exhilarating! But at the same time, it’s infuriating! The joy of unleashing all the power I’ve acquired and the frustration of still not being able to defeat you!”
His words made me clench my teeth. It was something I had been feeling as well.
The joy of fighting against someone who could fully withstand everything I’ve cultivated, and at the same time, the frustration of not being able to defeat them even with all my power…
But…
(I am no longer just that.)
Standing up and shrouding myself in darkness, I raised my sword. Lowd also unleashed his light and aimed his sword at me again.
“Lowd, I…”
“Berg, it’s regrettable to kill you…”
“We both want to kill each other.”
With our murderous intents colliding, our blades clashed once again…
