The Second Son of The Marquis Runs Away from Home ~ Lacking Talent, He Abandons Everything and Becomes an Adventurer ~ - 100
Chapter 100: Wings of White Stone
“We should be able to manage for now.”
“Yeah, but the enemy won’t wait for us.”
As I surveyed the battlefield, I reunited with Aria and the others. Once everyone heading towards the Tendo Castle had gathered, I focused my consciousness on High-End.
“High-End, I’ll borrow your form.”
Shouting, I emitted a white stone-like light from my whole body. As the light grew stronger, my arms and legs stretched, becoming larger, and the wings on my back spread out. My appearance shifted from human to something not quite human.
“‘Fafnir, the Greedy Dragon!’”
My shout reverberated into a roar. In my current complete dragon form, everyone, except for Aria and the others, looked on in stunned silence.
“It’s getting more and more like anything goes…”
“It won’t be like this forever. Now, get on.”
The “Greedy Fafnir, the Dragon Form” could tap into High-End’s full power but was draining, comparable to commanding an army. If it lasted more than five minutes, a kind of uncontrollable impulse would arise, making it difficult to maintain control.
It made sense that Loud never used this. For an army or a giant monster, it would work, but using it on just one person would create openings due to its excessive power.
But now was the time to use this strength. I had Aria and the others ride on my arms and back, then flapped my wings and soared into the sky. Serena, Amane, and Hinowa set up a barrier, and we shot straight toward Tendo Castle.
Aria, riding on my back, unleashed flames from her sword to accelerate further. The shockwave caused by breaking through the air barrier was blocked by the barrier, though it screamed in protest. The impact didn’t harm Aria and the others.
We collided with the massive barrier surrounding Tendo Castle. To anyone watching, it looked as though a white stone meteor had struck a bl00d-red wall, creating a deafening grinding sound. The barrier cracked, and the balance broke, causing the white meteor to fall toward the castle.
I landed, scraping the ground with my claws, breaking through several castle walls, but using my wings as a shield, I finally came to a stop.
“…The ride isn’t very comfortable.”
“Ugh…”
Lakul, dismounting, grumbled while drawing his Zanma sword. By the time Shurin had caught her breath and dismounted, everyone had gotten off, and I was gradually returning to my original form.
When I released my armor, High-End returned to the shape of a sword. I couldn’t use High-End’s full form for a short while, but we had successfully infiltrated the castle.
“Now… all that’s left is to defeat Mudo and seal the Gate of Yomi as quickly as possible.”
Everyone nodded at my words, and we moved toward the castle keep. The winding path meant to prevent enemy entry was lined with various monsters, but I led the way, clearing them as we advanced.
We combined our strength to destroy a particularly large gate. Once we passed through, we found ourselves in the plaza where the keep stood.
“So, you’ve come…”
In the center of the plaza stood a man cloaked in black robes.
