The Second Son of The Marquis Runs Away from Home ~ Lacking Talent, He Abandons Everything and Becomes an Adventurer ~ - 104
Chapter 104: Sweep
I don’t know exactly how long it’s been since I started fighting the mass of corpses. However, their numbers had noticeably decreased.
I dodged a sword swung from the front by shifting my body to the side, then went behind the attacker and pierced them with a high-end strike. The blade, embedded with a curse seal, caused both the corpse and the blade to decay.
I crouched to avoid a spear coming from the side, then spun around and cut off the legs of the nearby corpses. I threw a high-end strike at the corpse that had been trying to throw an axe.
I drew the Chaos Crusader and aimed for the heads of the fallen corpses. The black blade, swung in a circular motion, severed the heads of the crawling corpses.
(As expected, if I cut off the chest’s curse seal or the head, they’ll be defeated.)
I blocked a straight sword strike with my sheath, then switched to holding the Chaos Crusader with my opposite hand and thrust it into the chest of an incoming corpse, just as I collided with it. The momentum from the body slam pierced through the corpse behind them. I then released the Chaos Crusader and kicked away a corpse that had attacked from behind.
I reached into my waist pouch. It seemed that the barrier only sealed magic activation, allowing me to use magical tools that were always active.
I drew a dagger from my pouch. I parried a series of quick slashes from a corpse wielding a curved sword, then severed their wrist. As I kicked them away, I grabbed the flying curved sword and crushed the head of the corpse approaching from the left.
I let go of the curved sword and thrust my dagger into the chest of a corpse wearing armor. I pushed the hilt with the palm of my hand, forcing the curse seal inside to be pierced.
I released the dagger and rose, grabbing the curved sword that had been used by a corpse. I jammed my thumb into their eye and grabbed their head. I repositioned them, causing several weapons to impale the corpse.
Before the corpse collapsed, I kicked them forward and pulled out a rope from my pouch. I dodged a punch from a corpse wearing gauntlets, then drove my knee into their stomach. As they bent down, I threw the rope around their neck and carried them like a burden.
I threw the corpse I was carrying toward the approaching corpses. The ones holding spears surrounded me, all ready to strike.
“Damn…”
I drew the Seven-Branch Sword from my back and blocked the attack. A shock ran through my body, but as soon as I finished blocking, I bent my legs to gather strength and sprang up, sending the spears flying.
I immediately stepped forward and swept through the air with the Seven-Branch Sword, cutting through several of the corpses in front of me. A particularly large corpse raised a club high.
I ducked under the diagonal swing of the club and cut off the corpse’s knee with the Seven-Branch Sword. As it lost balance and fell, I pierced its chest with the same sword.
Then, a smaller corpse jumped onto my back. I grabbed their hand holding a dagger and held it down, pulling a knife from my pouch with my free hand.
I faced away from the corpses brandishing weapons and used the small corpse as a shield. Several blades struck, but most were absorbed by the corpse clinging to me, causing them to fall.
I grabbed one of the spears that had been approaching from behind and yanked it. I circled around the corpse holding the spear and used it as a shield while thrusting the knife into their chest.
(Only a few left…)
I dropped the knife and avoided two swords swinging from either side. I continued to step back and grabbed the Chaos Crusader from the floor. I used it to slice through the approaching corpses from both sides.
I weaved through the spears thrusting toward me and picked up a high-end strike that had fallen nearby. I charged toward the corpses, using the high-end strike to deflect the incoming spears and the Chaos Crusader to cut one down with a diagonal slash. I continued to press forward, spinning around and delivering two more strikes.
“That should be… enough.”
I sheathed the high-end strike while watching the corpses collapse. From behind, I dodged a sword swung by a corpse wearing armor and pulled a tube from my pouch.
I pressed the tube against my back and slashed at its bottom with the Chaos Crusader. Sparks flew, and the fire ignited the powder inside, causing an explosion that pierced through the armor and tore apart the curse seal inside.
“Only one left.”
I discarded the tube and pulled the Seven-Branch Sword from the floor. I looked up at Mudou, whose face was twisted in astonishment.
“If you’ve run out of options… next is your turn.”
