The Second Son of The Marquis Runs Away from Home ~ Lacking Talent, He Abandons Everything and Becomes an Adventurer ~ - 109
Chapter 109: The Undead Demon God
The undead demon god’s mouth opened, and blue ghostly fire was released as flames. Berg jumped to avoid the fire, but then lightning shot from Mudo’s scepter, coming at him.
The lightning from the seven-branch sword on Berg’s back countered Mudo’s lightning. Immediately after, he rolled over the approaching arm to dodge it, then slashed through another arm that was closing in, imbued with destructive light from his high-end weapon.
The arm, touched by the light of the high-end weapon, collapsed without regenerating. But as the arm fell off, another one moved. The end of this new arm transformed into a snake’s head, which bared its fangs and moved toward him.
Berg transformed his Chaos Crusader into a giant sword, a Great Sword, and struck the snake’s throat. The snake split open, and from the other side, Mudo fired ghostly fire at him.
Berg blocked the fire with his high-end weapon, but the force sent him flying. When he landed, countless arms began to fall like a rain of fists.
While fending off the flames, Berg dodged the rain of fists. Just then, Mudo muttered a curse, and the undead arms around him began floating, trying to bind him.
The moment Berg knocked down the approaching undead arms, a demon god’s arm attacked him from the front. He jumped backward, trying to block the strike, but he couldn’t fully absorb the shock and crashed into the wall.
(That demon statue is acting as both an attacker and a wall, and Mudo is completely focused on assisting, never stepping forward himself.)
Every time Berg tried to attack or move, Mudo quickly shifted to the opposite side of the demon statue. His movement to protect himself was so skilled that it made Berg click his tongue in frustration.
(But…)
Using his “Black Blade Stormbringer,” Berg blocked the approaching arms while observing. Mudo was certainly a skilled sorcerer, but something about his movements felt off.
If it were his older brother, the moment Berg faltered, his brother would keep attacking without pause. If it were Shurin or Serena, they would have stopped his movements with even more methods and measures, ensuring they couldn’t move.
But Mudo, whenever Berg focused on him, immediately switched to defense. Because of this, Berg was able to regain his stance and avoid a fatal wound.
(And this demon…)
This demon god was strong, almost comparable to a boss monster, but its movements occasionally slowed. From the aura he sensed and the man nailed to the ribcage of the statue, Berg had initially thought it was similar to Teresa, but it wasn’t.
This demon god was like an execution platform. Berg could feel the absence of life from the man nailed to the ribs, and each time the demon god moved, it felt as if the flame of life was being snuffed out.
“The Eight Thunder Gods, that one is…”
“It’s beyond saving. It’s like it’s already in its coffin.”
The words of the Eight Thunder Gods made Berg grit his teeth. But as he raised his head, he slashed through several approaching arms with two strikes.
“…I feel sick.”
Berg summoned the thunder of the Eight Thunder Gods onto himself. Mudo, sensing something, began casting various spells, but with the thunder coursing through him, Berg stomped on the floor, shattering it as he passed through Mudo’s magic and slashed the demon god’s head, which had been preparing to spew ghostly fire.
With a kick wrapped in wind and thunder, he sent the demon god flying. As the massive body fell with a loud crash, Berg used “Wind Step” to run with lightning fire and stood before Mudo, striking him in the solar plexus with his armored fists.
“Ugh… Ah!?”
The vibration and shock of the hit spread through Mudo’s body, and the wind blew him away. Mudo fell onto the fallen demon god, groaning as he collapsed.
“Your life, I will cut it down along with your great wish.”
The moment Berg said this, the entire castle began to shake.
