The Second Son of The Marquis Runs Away from Home ~ Lacking Talent, He Abandons Everything and Becomes an Adventurer ~ - 115
Chapter 115: Play
“Thanks for saving me.”
Supported by Aria and the others, I descended as Rakul’s deployment surrounded the castle with massive earth pillars. These pillars created a barrier that trapped Yomi and us inside.
“…Hmm.”
Yomi glanced at the barrier, then landed on the ground. He raised his hand, and the monsters from the Gate of Yomi ceased appearing.
“What are you planning?”
“I’m just somewhat bored and impressed by your pitiful efforts. I don’t mind crushing you all, but now, I feel like playing.”
Yomi said this and drew a sword from the air. The sword had a sinister aura, its blade exuding a malevolent energy that could make you feel cursed just by looking at it.
“It’s a game. I’ll step into your arena.”
He said, then readied his sword. I exchanged glances with Aria and the others, and the four of them nodded, getting into position.
I charged forward. I swung my sword down from above, but Yomi blocked it with his own sword. Immediately, Aria and Rakul attacked from the sides.
Yomi performed a backflip, dodging both attacks and kicked my sword upward. Aria and Rakul quickly pursued, but as Yomi landed, he swung his sword at Rakul while raising his hand toward Aria.
“‘Fire, be extinguished.’”
“What!?”
“‘Crush to death.’”
As Yomi’s voice echoed, the flames surrounding Aria vanished. The next incantation sent a powerful shockwave that blasted Aria away, sending her crashing through the wall.
Just before that, Serena had placed a water barrier in her path, but it was easily shattered by Yomi’s attack, making a brittle sound as it broke.
“Tch!”
Rakul and I swung our weapons at Yomi. He skillfully avoided both strikes with his movements and sword alone.
Rakul’s blade came down, but Yomi floated upward, landing on top of the sword. He quickly swung his blade, and Yomi jumped to dodge, only to be struck by an arrow to his shoulder.
Shurin quickly shot several more arrows in rapid succession. At the same time, a water cage appeared, surrounding Yomi and trapping him.
“‘Water and trees wither.’”
The arrows that had been approaching Yomi instantly decayed, and the water cage vanished. We locked swords, but the curse emanating from Yomi’s blade sent me flying.
Rakul began swinging his great sword horizontally and vertically. However, Yomi continued to dodge and, when Rakul lifted his sword high, Yomi stepped in and touched his armor.
“‘The earth shall wither.’”
Cracks spread across the armor where Yomi touched it. Rakul quickly retreated, swinging his sword in a straight line, but Yomi also retreated and raised his hand.
“‘Stone, kill.’”
“Ugh!?”
Rakul was blasted away by an invisible force centered on the cracks in his armor. In that moment, I swung the Great Sword at Yomi with full force, but it was stopped.
“Is this all?”
“Let’s see about that. ‘God-killing Mistletin!’”
Darkness gathered around the huge sword. Countless weapons converged, forming a blade as large as a tree. I brought it down with all my strength.
