The Second Son of The Marquis Runs Away from Home ~ Lacking Talent, He Abandons Everything and Becomes an Adventurer ~ - 131 (END)
Chapter 131: The Road Ahead
“Ah!?… Ah…”
I lay down the women, who were shaking with pleasure, wearing blissful expressions. With six of them, I was exhausted and needed to rest.
“This was a good adventure,” I said.
Ruskdite, still bare and with a seductive smile, spoke to me.
“More than anything, it’s wonderful that Hinowa and Setsura have joined us. The more women around you, the better,” she said.
“What are you going to do with even more women?” I replied.
“I’ve always thought you were too reluctant to surround yourself with women… If you wanted to, you could have more than you have now. Why don’t you?” Ruskdite asked.
I held my head with my hand, exhaled, and thought for a moment before answering.
“Increasing numbers means I have less time for each one,” I said.
Ruskdite tilted her head as if I was stating the obvious.
“If the number increases, even if I don’t want it, I might end up treating one of them carelessly… I don’t want to make a woman who loves me suffer,” I explained.
The women, like Aria and the others, had offered themselves for me. If they were like prostitutes, it wouldn’t matter, but they had decided to share their lives with me.
I didn’t want to do anything to make them regret their choice of partner for life. It was my own pride, though I was saying it out loud for the first time.
“Hmm… Well, if that’s the case, I suppose it’s rude for me to say anything,” Ruskdite said.
Before I could respond, Ruskdite threw herself on top of me, smiling seductively and licking her lips like a beast.
“We’re leaving tomorrow, you know?” I said.
“That’s exactly why. Don’t you think it’s enticing to make love under the moonlight?” she replied.
Thus, our final night in Hizuchi passed in such a way…
“Hinowa, Amelie, even though I know how you’re doing, please send me letters sometimes,” Amane said.
“Yes, Mother,” Hinowa replied.
“Take care,” Amelie added.
Before we boarded the ship, Amane hugged both of them. I stood a little further away, saying my goodbyes to Raigou and Irma.
“I am proud to have fought alongside you, Lord Berg,” Raigou said.
“And I am proud to have learned the true honor of Hizuchi’s warriors from you,” I responded as we shook hands.
I then turned to face Irma, who still had a serious expression.
“Thanks to you, Hizuchi was saved. But… now we have no time to rest,” Irma said.
“But you won’t be bored, will you?” I replied.
Irma had settled into the temporary leadership of Ozuma. He would now join forces with Gomon to rebuild.
Fudou and Hiruko were working hard under Irma’s command. Irma brought a message of farewell from them.
“Next time, I hope it’s for something other than trouble. I’ve had enough of dramatic events,” Irma said.
“I hope so too,” I agreed.
We exchanged a handshake and some light words before boarding the ship. As the anchor was raised and the ship set off, we slowly moved away from the harbor.
I stood by Setsura, who was gazing blankly at Hizuchi. For a while, the only sound was the waves, until she broke the silence.
“Don’t you have any regrets? Following me?”
Setsura had made a contract to help me in order to get revenge on the one who opened the gate to Yomi, the event that led to her father’s death. Now that we had defeated Mudo, Setsura was free.
However, she shook her head and answered.
“Hizuchi doesn’t need any more demons. Besides, I want to bring back many interesting stories rather than live a dull life.”
Setsura looked at me and gave a small smile.
“I think I’ll have plenty of stories to tell as long as I’m by your side.”
“I see,” I replied.
I couldn’t help but smile bitterly as I turned my gaze toward the fading Hizuchi. The time I spent there felt both long and short, but it had been rich.
I had fought alongside respected warriors, witnessed the terror of those who freely fell into evil, confronted madness that wasted long years, and faced a powerful god.
But the power left to me by my mother had given me the means to carve out a future. Coming to this land allowed me to learn about my heritage and bloodline, and I even spoke to my mother, someone I thought I would never meet.
What comes next, I don’t know. There are still so many things I want to do and need to do.
Still, I will walk the road I have chosen, to be someone I can be proud of.
For the sake of those who believe in me…
