The Second Son of The Marquis Runs Away from Home ~ Lacking Talent, He Abandons Everything and Becomes an Adventurer ~ - 13
## Episode 13: The Land Where Everything Flows
“Ugh…”
A few days later, while I was reading the documents my brother entrusted to me on the deck, Shurin groaned, leaning against the railing.
“Are you okay?”
“…I feel a little sick.”
Seeing her up close as I rubbed her back, I noticed her complexion wasn’t good. Shurin gets seasick, just as she did when we came to the Hume continent.
“Serena, take Shurin to her room.”
“Yes, I’ll give her some medicine for seasickness and let her rest.”
Serena, accustomed to such situations, tended to Shurin. Although a bit worried, I felt assured with Serena’s capable care.
“It’s surprising since she flies around so much.”
“Well, it’s different when you’re moving by yourself. I don’t really get seasick.”
I responded to Aria while putting away the documents. As I did so, I randomly picked up a small knife that my hand brushed against.
It was a nondescript small knife with a black lacquered sheath and handle, with a gold guard and koi guchi.
When I slightly unsheathed it, the blade shimmered silver in the sunlight. Despite its cold appearance, it felt warm, as if it held the sentiments of its creators.
“Is that Berg’s mother’s knife?”
“Yeah, it’s said to be imbued with our ancestors’ magic.”
According to the documents, our ancestors left the country and wandered around Hizuchi for a while. Some found partners and settled, while others crossed over to the Hume continent.
(But…)
Reading the documents, it seemed more like our clan was exiled rather than having left voluntarily. There were records of a new sorcerer being employed just before our clan left the country.
Though it could be chalked up to the passage of time and changing circumstances, something felt off.
“Serk.”
“What is it?”
As I was lost in thought, Rakul called out to me. I stopped thinking and turned around, seeing Rakul holding a telescope and pointing towards the front of the ship.
“Hizuchi is coming into view. With this strong wind, we’ll reach it in about 2 to 3 hours.”
Borrowing the telescope, I looked in the indicated direction. The silhouette of an island with towering mountains came into view.
—
We arrived at the port and disembarked with our luggage. Judging by the number of ships and people, it didn’t seem to be used by civilians.
“Is this port not used by civilians?”
“That’s right. There are three main ports: one for merchants and fishermen, one for military ships, which are fewer in number, and this one, used for welcoming guests like us.”
“Are there few people here?”
“Yes… Compared to the other two, only a few soldiers and sailors who maintain the ships are stationed here.”
“I see… Rakul!”
Simultaneously, Rakul and I moved forward and drew our swords, deflecting a blade that was rushing towards Hinowa.
“Wha…!?”
I confirmed that Aria and the others had formed a protective circle around Hinowa and called out.
“Come out. Your scent of blood gives you away.”
As I said that, a group of men in black clothes appeared…
