The Second Son of The Marquis Runs Away from Home ~ Lacking Talent, He Abandons Everything and Becomes an Adventurer ~ - 29
Chapter 29: The Burning Soul
(Ozuma Side)
In a corner of Tendo Castle, armor-clad warriors known as mediators were either engaged in fierce combat, their shouts echoing, or marching in formation for practice. Even to an amateur observer, their spirit and skill marked them as exceptional soldiers.
Within one of the training dojos erected in the training grounds, a man clad in armor, like the soldiers around him, was conducting his practice with two swords: a golden dragon and a crimson phoenix. Sparks flew from the swords, seemingly unable to contain the power within.
The man, focused solely on his swordplay, suddenly halted his movements. Behind him stood a figure in robes, head bowed.
“My apologies for interrupting your training,” the robed figure spoke.
“It’s fine. This is about the march to Gomon, isn’t it?” the man responded.
“Indeed, Lord Ozuma has ordered that you lead all under your command,” the figure confirmed.
“Hmm, and who are our opponents, Zen?”
Zen, as he was called, proceeded to detail what was currently known. Some of the information had been obtained by Mudou’s shikigami, sparking the man’s interest as he listened intently.
“I see. So, the man known as the strongest, as rumors say, has joined Gomon…”
“I gather information, but I remain skeptical. Rumors are just that,” Zen spoke.
“It’s understandable for you to think that way… But it’s an undeniable fact that a man named Berg defeated five thousand soldiers and captured two castles,” the man replied, impressed with Berg’s tactics. Having fought alongside Ozuma for years, Shion could appreciate Berg’s prowess.
“He’s formidable. There’s no shortage of challenges for our opponent,” the man added, smiling as he sheathed his swords.
“Inform the entire army. As soon as preparations are complete, we march,” he commanded.
The man’s name was Shion Fuwa, master of the twin swords “Raigakuen.” He was hailed as the strongest warrior in Hizuchi.

(Berg Side)
The night after capturing West Mizu Castle, I pondered while surveying the surroundings from a hill near the castle.
According to information from Irma, the next likely attackers would be General Shion and his troops.
…Our forces, including Irma, numbered just under seven thousand. In contrast, they boasted fifteen thousand elite troops renowned throughout Hizuchi, led by Shion, acclaimed as the strongest warrior in Hizuchi.
(…We can’t afford to escape without damage as we have done so far.)
We are now working on countermeasures and maneuvers based on the information already obtained by Irma and Gomon, but we don’t know how much this will reduce the difference in military strength.
(In the worst case scenario, we’ll have to use the “army.”)
The Chaos Crusader’s army suffers from severe exhaustion and cannot fully unleash its power in combat against humans. The Chaos Crusader’s army can only fully deploy against non-human beings… This time, it will be the Yellow Springs troops.
Even though the Chaos Crusader’s army can only use the power to protect humans, it can use everything else.
And there are others who fight with Aria, Hinowa, and others.
So, we can only do what we can to win.
(…What are you doing?)
Without turning back, I called out to the trees behind me, and Ameley appeared, hidden in the shadows.
(…I have something to ask you.)
While staring at me with intense emotion, Ameley asked me a question.
(The technique you used on the Yellow Springs soldiers… It was undoubtedly the “Flying Swallow” that my father invented.)
Under the moonlight, Ameley voiced an uncontrollable question as our gazes intertwined.
(Why… do you know my father’s technique?)
