The Second Son of The Marquis Runs Away from Home ~ Lacking Talent, He Abandons Everything and Becomes an Adventurer ~ - 53
Chapter 53: Death Struggle
“Ha!”
“Nn!”
The sword shrouded in swirling darkness and the blade imbued with thunder and flames clashed, with each impact spreading heatwaves, scattering lightning, and stirring up black winds.
The flames emanating from the dual blades glowed white, and the power embedded within them was so intense that it required focused evasion rather than relying on partial defenses.
The speed at which the dual blades were swung was so fast it seemed as if the sound couldn’t keep up. Therefore, I had to close in and engage at close range to stop the attack before reaching top speed.
As I blocked the dual swords, I lowered my weight to halt my movement. From the shadows at my feet, numerous swords and spears shot out, piercing Shion.
However, Shion swung his head back and charged at me with a headbutt. The shock transmitted through my helmet loosened my grip, and Shion’s dual swords crossed and tore through my chest plate.
“Ugh!?”
A subsequent front kick shoved me back. Fortunately, it did not reach my body, and the chest plate began to mend, but even though Shion was pierced all over, his wounds were healing.
“It should be a fatal wound.”
“The Flame Beak enhances the user’s vitality to the extreme. In this transformed state, I am effectively immortal.”
…Immortal as well as that dual sword, which is troublesome. So far, only Lowd has managed to damage the Chaos Crusader’s armor.
Though fire is easy to amplify, Shion’s dual swords might be on par with or even surpass Lowd’s.
(A normal weapon can’t defeat him, but it can serve to delay or restrain him.)
I quickly calculated in my mind and got up. Shion was indeed strong… but there was a way.
(Should I use that?)
Clutching the small swords in both hands and enveloping them in darkness, I activated my maximum body enhancement with wind and shadow, and kicked off the ground with an explosive impact.
Shion stopped the small swords approaching from both sides. He dropped the small swords and attempted a sweeping kick, but Shion leapt to avoid it.
From my cloak, dozens of chain flails were launched at Shion. The flames and lightning from the dual swords blew away the chains, but the chains I had extended from below wrapped around Shion’s ankles. I then threw a spear wrapped in darkness.
Shion parried the spear with his dual swords but was blasted away by the shock. Meanwhile, I gathered darkness around the Great Sword, forming an even larger blade… the Godslayer Mistoltin.
“‘Black Blade Storm Dance Stormbringer!’”
The dark storm released by the Godslayer swirled into a vortex, trapping Shion. I dove into the vortex and closed in directly on Shion.
“Nn… Ohhh!”
Even while being cut all over, Shion increased the power of his dual swords and swung them. Just after the Godslayer and the dual swords collided, Shion was blown away by the impact, and I clicked my tongue inwardly.
(Shallow!)
Blood flowed from the wounds on Shion’s body, but while the wounds were far from fatal, Shion assessed the situation with calm surprise.
“I see… I don’t know what kind of power that sword possesses, but it seems it can kill even immortals. It doesn’t seem to be a lie that it has slain gods.”
With that, Shion readied his dual swords. The dual swords were imbued with an extraordinary power, and the surrounding air crackled with a sound like explosions, shimmering like a heat haze.
It was time to decide the outcome. In the unspoken declaration, I prepared the Godslayer, shrouded in darkness.
This strike would determine the outcome… Though it was unspoken, we both sensed it.
