The Senior Student (female) Is Not Human - Chapter 4
Chapter 4: The Red Mole
Kissing until one forgets the world exists!
Xie Shiwei refused the exorcism activity at the old school buildings and was walking to her flyer distribution job.
She felt a dark, chilling gaze constantly stuck to her back.
This intense feeling of being watched made her feel a cold chill even while wearing a thick mascot costume under the blazing midday sun.
When she took off the mascot head and collected her daily wages, the feeling of her hair being cool and dry was oddly captivating to Xie Shiwei.
It wasn’t until she walked through the shade toward the school to catch her mandatory afternoon professional class that—
The shadow-like coldness closed in again.
She even heard a second echoing sound following the fall of her own footsteps.
Clack, clack, clack-clack…
When she suddenly stopped and felt a faint breath fall on the back of her neck, Xie Shiwei abruptly bolted.
But a hand grabbed her from behind.
“Junior Sister Xie.”
She turned back with a pale face, on the verge of fainting from shock, and saw Tang Hui’s face.
“Senior Sister Tang,” she steadied herself and took a deep breath. “What can I do for you?”
Tang Hui had watched her distribute flyers for two hours, even taking a moment to help the nearby bubble tea shop borrow ice and syrup from next door.
So, she spoke directly: “Are you very short on money?”
This familiar line instantly made Xie Shiwei’s eyes light up.
Could it be… that the heavens have finally opened their eyes and found her a rich person who suddenly wants to give her five million and targeted poverty relief?!
Xie Shiwei pushed up her glasses, bringing her eyes—with three parts naivety, three parts expectation, and four parts fervent suggestion—close to Tang Hui:
“Senior Sister, what does that mean?”
“Two thousand.” Tang Hui raised her chin. “Come with us to the old school building tonight.”
The light in Xie Shiwei’s eyes immediately went out.
As the saying goes: a gentleman loves money, but earns it honestly. Some money you earn, you also need to live to spend.
Tang Hui frowned at her: “You don’t think it’s enough? It’s just a trip out at night. You’ll be back in less than two hours. It won’t interfere with your other jobs or your classes. This won’t move you?”
Then, Tang Hui crossed her arms and scrutinized her, as if she understood something.
“You don’t actually think that refusing Jiang Xiyao will get her attention, do you?”
“What, are you waiting for her to personally invite you?”
“If I didn’t want to see her disappointed and want her activity to be well-attended, I wouldn’t give you this opportunity. The other students from that class yesterday were all fighting to come ward off bad luck.”
Of course.
Tang Hui also had a private motive. She didn’t believe Xie Shiwei, with a face that blended into a crowd, would get a single glance from Jiang Xiyao tonight.
The friends she called would help her “keep Xie Shiwei company” and have some “fun.”
As for herself, she would become Jiang Xiyao’s one and only choice.
“Twenty thousand.” Tang Hui casually named a figure, already looking impatient. “To be honest, the person who earns the most in the busiest bar downtown might not even make that much in one night.”
Xie Shiwei: But then again, seeking wealth requires facing danger—
The heavens are chasing her to give her money; she shouldn’t be too ungrateful.
She replied crisply: “Okay, Senior Sister. I’ll be there on time tonight.”
However, she felt the need to include a caveat: “But, I’m a very, very timid person. I tend to faint easily in eerie places. Will it be okay if my level of participation isn’t very high?”
Tang Hui didn’t care about her participation; she only wanted a green leaf to set herself off, and ideally one who could witness her beautiful love story.
After paying a 50% deposit, she turned and left.
Xie Shiwei looked at the ten thousand yuan credited to her account and couldn’t help but purse her lips into a smile, but in the next second, she shivered inexplicably.
That strange cold feeling still seemed to linger.
But the joy of striking it rich briefly overcame the fear. Xie Shiwei couldn’t help but loudly sing praises in her mind:
Ahhh, Senior Sister Jiang is so great! Senior Sister is my little lucky star!
Since I started secretly liking Senior Sister, not only do I get random eye candy at school, but she also brings me luck and wealth!
First, I got to hear Senior Sister talk so much thanks to my roommate’s love letter, and now I get paid to hang out with her! Watching a beauty on the company dime! What a huge win!
Xie Shiwei sincerely swore in her heart to eternally support her Senior Sister Wife, and never allow anyone to disrespect the Goddess!
Then, she was shocked to discover that love could ward off evil. After those thoughts flashed through her mind, the feeling of being observed suddenly disappeared.
Xie Shiwei’s steps to class became lighter.
“S-caring my-s-elf.”
Lightly patting her chest, she furiously repeated Jiang Xiyao’s name in her mind to steady her nerves, while eagerly anticipating seeing that peak creation of Nuwa’s face again tonight.
Time slowed down due to her longing, but still, little by little, it arrived at 9:20 PM.
After her compulsory Political Theory class, Xie Shiwei couldn’t wait. Carrying her sense of righteousness, she actively headed toward the artificial lake.
But she was still late.
Upon arrival, she could vaguely see a few familiar figures on the path leading from the lake to the abandoned school buildings—the same ones who were in the elective class with the deceased yesterday.
“I said the old school building was cursed. You can’t let those art students, who are prone to mental illness, live there. Several art students died there two years ago, and some even mutilated themselves, carving out their eyes. Maybe it’s some evil sacrifice ritual…”
“Yeah, the police said the guy had an acute myocardial infarction, but I bet it was some dirty thing. The feng shui of this place is bad! First, they gave it to medical students, who saw the cadaver teachers wandering around late at night, and now the art students are dying again.”
“Forget it. Hope Tang Hui’s ritual works tonight. I want to graduate safely.”
Xie Shiwei, about to cover her ears, paused. She realized the people furthest out were walking back.
…Wait, is the bad luck warding ritual over already?
Does that mean she can just find Senior Sister Tang and get her final payment without any trouble?
Thinking she could get the money and leave, Xie Shiwei’s steps became more energetic, but because she couldn’t see clearly, she nearly collided with someone while almost twisting her ankle.
“Watch where you’re going!” the person she bumped into snapped angrily.
Xie Shiwei looked up and met a pair of horrifying eyes with bloodshot whites, like red spider silk. Hearing the person’s agitated, heavy breathing, she immediately guessed who they were all surrounding.
We’re all comrades who adore the same person; why should we fight so bitterly? She sincerely apologized and backed away.
Knowing how crazy Jiang Xiyao’s male fans were, Xie Shiwei almost gave up, wondering if she could just tell Tang Hui tomorrow that she had been there.
“Xie. Shi. Wei.”
Just then, the heavenly, melodious voice slowly chimed from within the crowd.
A ripple went through the crowd. She watched the tall boys huddle, discussing who that name belonged to, but in the next second, they suddenly opened a path for her—
As gazes of jealousy, doubt, and resentment surrounded her from all sides.
Xie Shiwei met the dark eyes in the center of the clearing—eyes that looked deep and affectionate, even when looking at a dog.
Though her name was remembered by the person she admired, Xie Shiwei couldn’t smile in this situation.
In that moment of terror, driven by the instinct for survival, she casually took a step sideways and quietly asked a nearby man: “Senior Sister Jiang, who was she calling just now?”
A chilling, eerie light flared in Jiang Xiyao’s beautiful pupils.
She silently stared at the woman whose heart-voice chased her with a noise-blasting confession, yet in reality, first refused her and now avoided her like the plague, even willing to discard her own name just to distance herself.
Xie. Shi. Wei.
Her tongue pressed against her teeth. This time, she truly remembered this utterly ungrateful thing.
Jiang Xiyao’s eyes grew colder. Just as she was about to speak again, she was interrupted by Tang Hui beside her: “It seems everyone who stayed wants to explore the secrets of the old school building. Then welcome to my adventure squad.”
“I just found out that all the electricity in the old school building area is out. Luckily, I brought a powerful flashlight. The streetlights over by the lake will turn off at 9:30. Everyone, please stick close to me later and don’t get lost.”
The school had previously caught too many young couples secretly dating by the lake after evening classes.
After the security guards caught some particularly brazen offenders, the school started cutting the streetlights in that area at 9:30 PM. The gloomy, dark lake, set against the backdrop of the deep, dark hills at night, had indeed scared off many couples.
But that wasn’t the point for Xie Shiwei—
I knew it! Twenty thousand yuan isn’t that easy to earn! What happened to letting me go home within two hours?!
Has Tang Hui never watched a horror movie? Actively exploring a cursed place like this could get people killed! The ground beneath our feet is spawning the scariest kind of Chinese horror, ahhhhh!
The thought had just landed when a heavy “Click!” sound rang out.
The streetlights illuminating the area behind them went out one by one. Darkness, like a tide, enveloped the people left in the area from all directions.
Silence instantly fell, so absolute that not even the chirping of insects could be heard.
Xie Shiwei’s breathing stopped.
Then she heard Tang Hui fiddling with the flashlight: “Hey, hey, hey, I’m turning on the flashlight, everyone calm down.”
Amidst the sounds of urging, Tang Hui fumbled in the dark to insert batteries into her flashlight and quietly asked in the direction of Jiang Xiyao: “Do you dislike that Xie Shiwei?”
However, the only answer was empty air.
And the increasingly anxious sounds of the people around them: “Holy crap, why did my phone suddenly die?”
“Mine too, it seems to have frozen? Damn it, is this place really cursed?”
“Tang Hui, hurry up! Your flashlight is our last hope!”
Tang Hui had no choice but to answer: “It’s fine, I also brought candles.”
Xie Shiwei felt her heart drop dead.
Just as she was reaching the peak of her terror, about to “clunk” and faint—
A fragrant breeze suddenly swept past her.
Jiang Xiyao, who saw perfectly well in the dark, quietly stopped in front of her. Her pale, icy face slowly moved closer to the nearsighted glasses.
In the thick darkness.
The seductive, beautiful woman’s silky, snowy skin consciously ‘cracked and popped’—the monster was about to shed its perfect disguise and reveal its terrifying true form.
Yet, her tone was one of seemingly kind concern: “Junior Sister Xie, if you faint here, your head might accidentally get smashed on a rock, you know?”
She absolutely would not allow Xie Shiwei to faint casually like she did in the police station.
So, Jiang Xiyao deliberately pitched her voice to be gentle as water, syrupy and alluring.
【Ahhh! Does Senior Sister Jiang know I’m timid and purposely came to keep me company?】
Yes.
Jiang Xiyao’s smile cracked her red lips, wisps of mist rising from beneath her face. Her fingers wrapped around a strand of black hair, measuring whether to loop it around Xie Shiwei’s neck.
She could almost see the outcome: repeatedly scaring Xie Shiwei unconscious tonight, then repeatedly strangling her awake, until this weak shell was filled only with forced terror, ending in a death from a shattered liver and gall, and a fragmented soul.
【I can’t faint! Woohoo, I’m so wrong for misunderstanding that Senior Sister was mad because of my refusal this morning and deliberately trying to set me up so others would bully me out of jealousy. I deserve to die!】
You guessed right, but I still have to reward you with death.
She slowly rolled her eyeballs up, leaving only the whites in her sockets.
【Lust gives courage! Though I’m allergic to alcohol, but! I’m a first-class expert at getting freaky! Dead brain, get to work!】
Though she didn’t understand the phrase, it didn’t stop Jiang Xiyao from happily stretching out her fingers, growing long, scarlet claws.
【So fragrant. My wife comes to see me smelling so good every day. Did she intentionally rub an aphrodisiac on herself, hmm? Why else would I feel hot all over, and wet between my legs every time?】
Jiang Xiyao was stunned.
The red claw unknowingly stopped in front of Xie Shiwei’s face.
However, the girl was already lost in the novel’s dialogue in her mind, unable to extricate herself:
【Always talking so close to me. Did you secretly discover my shining inner beauty a long time ago? Woman, you’re obsessed with me too, aren’t you? You can’t help but want to get close to me, right?】
Jiang Xiyao reflexively took half a step back.
【I can’t help it. Who told me I spoil you? But don’t test your commander like this next time, or I’ll aggressively, passionately kiss that sexy little mouth of yours until you forget the world exists!】
【I won’t even spare that sexy little red mole on your lip. I’ll bite it first, then lick it, and when it swells up to the same size as your little mouth—】
“…”
In the darkness.
The tiny red mole on Jiang Xiyao’s lip corner trembled beneath her snowy skin.
Then, as if startled, it quickly fled from her cheek and decisively hid beneath the collar of her dress.
