- Chapter 12 - Real-World Labyrinth – 4
Back home, I started studying Awakened common sense.
If Rui’s group hadn’t warned me today, I might’ve blundered without knowing.
“I thought I paid attention in school…”
As I grabbed a drink, Rui’s study materials arrived.
Several files—basic knowledge to more detailed.
“Never imagined self-studying like this in my last summer break.”
I began reading.
First, levels: matched my memory.
Level 5 takes a month for most; Level 10 takes half a year.
“…No wonder Level 16 in days shocked them. Good thing it was Minato’s group—I really need to be careful.”
On the flip side, I can grow extremely fast.
“Floor 1 got me to 16. Floors 2 and 3 should push it even higher.”
If Floor 1 hit 16, Floor 10 might reach 50.
I’d forgotten: stat growth per level matters too.
Fixed at awakening (1–5), based on talent. Rarely changes.
“My Stamina, Strength, Agility rise by 4—good. Max 5 is rare; min 1 is common. My lowest is Magic at 2—still decent.”
Stats can also rise through training; some close gaps with effort.
Skills: most awaken with one.
Talented or strong Awakened lineage often get multiple.
Mine likely from Tōjō bloodline.
Unique skills: same as I recalled.
“Guess I’m on the lucky side as an Awakened…”
Finishing the files, I lay on the bed and muttered.
“…Then getting stronger sounds fun.”
I’d been preparing to live as a Non-Awakened.
Learning I have talent ignited motivation.
Next day, fueled by it, I went shopping—stocked Inventory with tons of food and drinks.
“Planning to hole up in the labyrinth?”
“That’s the idea. I’ve got work, so I’ll pop out sometimes. I’ll reply then. Also, 24-hour lockout after death—shouldn’t go completely silent.”
“Got it. I know I can’t stop you now, but when you’re strong, show me first.”
“Will do. Prepare to be shocked.”
I texted Rui my plan.
She called. We talked.
She ended with, “I’ll be waiting excitedly,” and hung up.
I entered 【Infinite Labyrinth】.
First, set up the Waiting Room: installed beds and shelves for quick clothing changes.
“If I add a bath boiler and hot water, I can bathe inside…”
Floor 1 is just goblins—wash while staying alert.
Then I might never need the outside world…
“Floor 1 had a sun. Time flows in and out—maybe solar panels and a small cabin…”
Assembling the bed, I daydreamed.
Finished beds, shelves, and a clock—so I’d know outside time upon return.
“No watch needed—might break in the labyrinth.”
Phone’s in Inventory, but breaking it would sting even with money to spare.
Prep complete. I changed into gear and stepped into the labyrinth.
