Anis lives in the slums with her mother. From morning until night, she makes a living by shining shoes in the noble district.
One of her regular customers, Ryu, sometimes shows up without warning. Chatting with him has become Anis’s only joy in her otherwise boring days.
“I wonder when I’ll see him again…” she thinks as she keeps polishing leather shoes.
It’s been five years since she first met Ryu, and Anis is now eighteen.
