The Strongest Delivery Man - Chapter 1
“Looking for a strong and fearless delivery guy to come ASAP. This is an emergency!”
When Fang Ye saw this additional note in the order, his expression turned rather strange.
This message was way too suggestive… Could it be that some ugly and desperate woman was—
“Stop overthinking and just go deliver it quickly!” His boss, Xia Wei, lightly tapped his helmet.
Fang Ye was one of the delivery workers at this milk tea shop. He was currently a senior at Huahai University and worked here part-time every afternoon.
“Got it, sis.”
He then placed the packed milk tea into his delivery bag, hopped onto his electric scooter, and sped off.
Ten minutes later, in a high-end residential complex.
“Hello, your delivery is here!”
Fang Ye, who was wearing a yellow vest and a helmet, knocked lightly on the door of apartment 901.
All the apartments in this building were duplexes, with an average price of at least 40,000 dollars per square meter. Looked like this “ugly and desperate woman” had quite the wealth…
The door quickly swung open, and a wave of fragrant air hit him. Standing there was a breathtakingly beautiful woman, with no makeup, yet stunning enough to make his heart skip a beat.
Wait… she’s not desperate and ugly?!
“What took you so long? I was about to die from anxiety! Hurry up, come on in!” Dressed in a pink pajama, the woman, named Qin Yanran, grabbed Fang Ye’s arm and pulled him inside before he could react.
No way… Is she really that desperate? With her looks, there’s no way she’d have trouble finding a boyfriend!
She’s so gorgeous… Honestly, would it really be a loss if he just went along with it?
“Uh… Miss, I’m just a delivery guy. My boss is waiting for me to return…” Fang Ye stammered.
Qin Yanran, looking pitiful, pleaded, “I know… But please, just help me out! It’ll only take a moment. It won’t take much of your time!”
“Alright then, I’ll take this order. But only for half an hour!” Fang Ye braced himself.
“Half an hour?” The woman looked confused. “Does it really take that long to kill a cockroach?”
“A… cockroach?” Fang Ye almost choked. He was already mentally prepared to take off his pants, and now she’s talking about a cockroach?!
“Yeah! There’s a huge cockroach in the kitchen. I’m terrified…” She pointed toward the kitchen. “I wouldn’t have ordered delivery if it wasn’t for this!”
…so it was just him imagining things. There he was thinking that he was about to experience some kind of lucky encounter.
With a face full of disappointment, Fang Ye walked into the kitchen and swiftly crushed the cockroach hiding by the stove.
After he threw its flattened body into the trash, Qin Yanran finally let out a sigh of relief.
“Thank you so much! I’ll definitely give you a five-star review later. Bye!”
As Fang Ye left apartment 901, feeling somewhat dejected, he suddenly heard a sweet robotic voice echoing in his mind:
“Ding! The Supreme Tycoon Delivery System has been successfully bound! Congratulations, Host, for completing a special delivery. Here’s your 1 billion HD reward!”
*HD is an abbreviation of Hua Dollars, a currency of this world
“System? 1 billon? tch, who’d believe that?” Fang Ye thought it was someone pulling a prank.
Beep beep beep!
Suddenly, vibrations came from the phone in his pocket. He fished it out saw a short message appearing on the screen.
“Dear customer, your account ending in 9527 has received a deposit of 1 billion HD. Your current balance is 1,000,000,002,100 HD.”
It… was real?!
Fang ye pinched his face. The pain reminded him that this wasn’t a dream. The system has really been activated!
Stay Calm, stay calm, I have a cheat code now. Ten billion? No big deal…
Just as he was forcing himself to stay composed, his phone rang again. It was his mom calling.
“Son, I need to tell you something. Your uncle needs to borrow some money for his business. I don’t have that much on me at this moment, so can I send your living expenses a bit later this month?”
Fang Ye immediately understood. His uncle was great at enjoying the life of the party, but when it came to business, he was completely clueless. His mom, being the classic “brother-supporting fanatic,” was probably up to her usual antics again. She might have even fought with Dad over this and, as a last resort, turned to her son for help.
“It’s okay, Mom. I just won the lottery and got a few tens of thousands in prize money. If you need it urgently, I’ll head to the bank now and transfer 20,000 to you.”
Fang Ye didn’t dare reveal too much, in fear of scaring her.
After hanging up, he turned his electric scooter around and headed to the nearest bank.
His mom didn’t use mobile banking and still relied on an old-school passbook. The only way to transfer money was to do it at the counter.
The bank was crowded. Fang Ye drew a number and was shocked to see that there were over fifty people ahead of him. Looking at the regular counter with only two open windows, he was getting impatient.
At this rate, it’d be dark before it was his turn, and his boss was still waiting for him to return!
With no other choice, he walked into the VIP lounge next door. The environment was much nicer, and one of the teller windows was even unoccupied.
Looking at a man dressed in a delivery uniform sitting at the counter, the young female teller inside gave him a look of disdain
“Hey, hey, hey! No one here ordered delivery. You shouldn’t be sitting here!”
“I’m here to do some banking matters,” Fang Ye replied.
“Banking? What kind of banking matters?” she asked suspiciously.
“I need to transfer 20,000 dollars,” Fang Ye said, pulling out his bank card.
“I’m sorry, this is a VIP counter. We only handle transactions of 100,000 dollars or more,” she said expressionlessly. “You can use the ATM or go to the regular counter outside.”
“Please excuse me. I’m in a hurry, and the line outside is too long,” Fang Ye explained.
“That’s not my problem. This is bank policy. If we let everyone like you in, this place would be a mess.”
At that moment, a pot-bellied middle-aged man walked up to the counter.
“Kid, this isn’t the place for you. Go wait in line outside,”
“Chairman Wu, you’re here!” The teller’s attitude did a complete 180 as she greeted the man with a professional smile, completely different from how she treated Fang Ye.
“Xiao Xu, withdraw 80,000 dollars in cash for me. Make it quick!” Mr. Wu tossed his bank card onto the counter.
“Of course, Mr. Wu! I’ll take care of it right away!” The teller beamed as she reached for the card—until Fang Ye suddenly stopped her.
“Miss, didn’t you just say this counter only handles transactions of 100,000 dollars or more? Also, shouldn’t there be a first-come, first-served rule?”
“Chairman Wu is a Platinum VIP at our bank. That rule doesn’t apply to him,” the teller said coldly. “You have no qualifications to be here. If you don’t leave now, I’ll call security.”
Chairman Wu glanced at Fang Ye and let out a condescending smirk.
How dare a mere delivery guy interfere with his business?
“Xiao Xu, my supplier is waiting for the down payment. Don’t delay my business.”
“Don’t worry, Chairman Wu, I’ll handle it right away!” The female teller pressed a button under the counter. A few seconds later, two security guards patrolling the front entrance stormed in.
“Xiao Xu, what’s the matter here?”
The teller pointed at Fang Ye and said, “Brother Ma, this delivery guy is causing trouble and refusing to leave. Please escort him out before he disrupts Chairman Wu’s important business.”
“Kid, this isn’t a place for you. Leave now, or don’t blame us for getting rough,” Brother Ma said, patting the electric baton at his waist.
“Alright then. Since you don’t handle transactions below 100,000 dollars, I’ll just make a bigger one,” Fang Ye smirked. “Withdraw all 1 billion yuan from my account. I want to transfer it to another card.”
“1 billion? Hahaha!” Chairman Wu burst into laughter, clutching his stomach. “Kid, have you lost your mind? Who do you think you are?”
Even Brother Ma couldn’t hold back his laughter. He patted Fang Ye’s shoulder and said, “Brother, if you’re sick, you should see a doctor early. A delivery guy like you with that much money? Maybe if it were in another currency! Now, get lost!”
“If you don’t believe me, why don’t you check?” Fang Ye said calmly.
His composed demeanor made the female teller a little irritated. She grabbed the bank card and casually swiped it through the card reader. Then, with a loud snap, she tossed it back in front of Fang Ye.
“Checked. Now get lost!”
Fang Ye remained unfazed and smiled slightly. “Why don’t you take a look at the balance?”
“What’s there to see? If you really had 1 billion, I’d transfer it all out for you right now—huh???” The teller glanced at the screen, but before she could finish her sentence, the words got stuck in her throat. Her mouth gaped open wide enough to fit a salted duck egg.
One, two, three, four, five… a full ten digits!
Holy crap! She wasn’t seeing things, was she? It really was 1 billion!
