The Strongest Delivery Man - Chapter 4
“I’m not seeing things, right? The owner of that car is actually a delivery guy!? Did an internet meme just become reality?”
“It’s probably staged. People nowadays are willing to do anything for fame.”
“Exactly…”
Qian Li and her group were utterly embarrassed and could only slink away. Wen Xin smiled thoughtfully and turned to return to the internet café. Soon enough, the crowd dispersed.
“Zikai bro, I thought you said Fang Ye was a loser. How did he end up driving a sports car?” The blonde hair girl asked. “Could it be that his parents are actually hidden millionaires?”
“I bet that he rented this car to keep up with the Joneses.” Zhang Zikai sneered. “I’ve seen his parents before, they’re both low-level company employees. It’s impossible for them to be hidden millionaires.”
The blonde girl seemed to agree with this theory. She covered her mouth and giggled. “Then he really is giving his all to impress a girl this time. Renting a sports car for a day must cost a fortune. I’m pretty sure his parents would be furious if they found out.”
“Hahahaha, they can only blame their luck for having such a useless son.” Zhang Zikai believed his own theory even more. His gloomy mood lifting along with the thought. “Just wait and see. We’ll have a good show tonight…”
Fang Ye drove his flashy Lamborghini Veneno straight back to the commercial street, and took out his scooter after locking his car. Then, under the astonished gazes of passers-by, he rode his scooter back to the milk tea shop.
“Wei, Sis. I’m back!” He said with a grind. “any more orders?
He had profited greatly from the last two orders. He couldn’t wait to take on more orders.
“What’s the rush? It’s a really hot day, don’t you want to take a break?” Xia Wei rolled her eyes at him, then handed him a frozen lemon tea. “My treat. Drink up.”
“Thanks!” Fang Ye took a big gulp. He was indeed thirsty.
“Slow Down. No one’s going to snatch it from you. What if you choked?”
Fang Ye gulped down half more than half of it in one go, wiped his face then said, “it tastes so good! Your skills are amazing. No wonder the shop is doing so well!”
Xi Wei handed him a napkin. “Stop flattering me. I won’t give you a pay raise that easily. The rent and the utilities are really expensive these days. The shop’s business may look good, but we’re barely breaking even.”
“Wei, sis, you’ve got it wrong. That’s not what I meant,” Fang Ye quickly waved his hand.
He was a billionaire now, he certainly didn’t care about a few dollars from a part time job.
Xia Wei obviously didn’t believe him. “Don’t think I don’t know why you’re working here. It’s for that pretty girl who came here last week, right? I’ve been there; I can tell at a glance. So, how far have you two gone? Have you moved in together yet?”
“We’re not even close!” Fang Ye said with a wry smile. “It’s her birthday today. I should have an answer tonight.”
“Oh, so you’re confessing tonight?” Xia Wei smiled. “In that case, let me settle your wages first, so I don’t delay your big moment.”
“There’s really no need, I have…”
Xia Wei transferred the money to him without letting him finish. Fang Ye checked his phone. the amount seemed off.
“Wei, sis. Isn’t it supposed to be 2000?”
“The extra 500 is my personal sponsorship,” Xia Wei said generously. “Go for it, and escape the misery of being single!”
Fang Ye was touched. He was lucky to have a boss like Xia Wei.
The milk tea shop was indeed doing well. Before Fang Ye finished his frozen lemon tea, another delivery order came in.
“Please ask the delivery guy to bring up two bags of rice, or I’ll leave a bad review…” Fang Ye almost cursed when he saw the note.
“Stop complaining. The customer is always right,” Xia Wei said, smiling as she handed him the packaged milk tea and snacks. “Hurry back; I’ll let you off work after this one.”
“Got it, Sis.” Fang Ye perked up and left the milk tea shop, hopping onto his electric scooter and zooming off.
The Lamborghini Veneno might be flashy, but it was too impractical for deliveries. With traffic lights and speed bumps everywhere in the city, his little electric scooter was the most convenient!
He bought two 25-pound bags of rice from the supermarket at the customer’s complex entrance. When he got to the building, he sadly discovered that the elevator was broken.
“What the f*ck the customer lives on the tenth floor!” Fang Ye grumbled as he shouldered the rice bags and started climbing the stairs.
His physical fitness wasn’t great, and he was panting after just two flights of stairs.
“Come on, you can do it!” After resting for a while, Fang Ye continued his climb with the rice bags. It took him nearly fifteen minutes to reach the tenth floor.
After ringing the doorbell, a man opened the door.
The man was in his thirties, burly, with arms thicker than Fang Ye’s thighs. He had a towel around his neck and a dumbbell in his hand, as if he had been working out at home.
“What took you so long?” the muscle man said, taking the milk tea. “Bring the rice in and put it in the kitchen.”
“O… okay!” Fang Ye was exhausted, but he still carried the two bags of rice into the kitchen as instructed.
“Congratulations, Host, for completing a special delivery. You are rewarded with Basic Physical Fitness Enhancement!”
Another reward as expected!
Fang Ye’s body seemed to have changed in an instant. His muscles became firm and well-proportioned, every cell seemingly filled with power. He felt like he could kill a tiger with one punch!
If an average person’s physical fitness was 1, Fang Ye’s was now at least 5. This must be the power of the system.
“You’re so young, How can you be so tired from carrying such a small load?” the muscle man sneered, then flexed his biceps to show off his muscle. “Kid, you need to work out. If you could get as strong as me, you could carry twice that load.”
“Easy for you to say. It’s the tenth floor. Why don’t you carry it yourself if you’re so strong?” Fang Ye retorted, a bit annoyed.
“What’s the use of the likes of you, if I were to carry it myself. Do you think I’m stupid?” the muscle man sneered. “I wouldn’t have bought your milk tea if the elevator wasn’t broken!”
“So, you ordered milk tea just to get me to do free labor?” Fang Ye was furious.
“So what? You still have to deliver it, or I’ll give you a bad review!” the muscle man said shamelessly. “You’re just a delivery guy. I’m doing you a favor by giving you work!”
Fang Ye snorted. “Don’t push your luck. To me, you’re just an empty shell. Those muscles are probably from protein powder. You’re not necessarily stronger than me!”
“What did you say?” The muscle man was enraged; he hated being called a “paper tiger.” “Kid, you’ll pay for talking nonsense. I’ll tear your mouth apart and give your milk tea shop a bad review!”
“Don’t believe me? Let’s have a little contest,” Fang Ye said, rolling up his sleeves. “How about a simple arm wrestling? Whoever loses is The grandson!”
“You’re on!” The muscle man couldn’t have asked for more. They sat across from each other at a square table and shook hands.
“One round or best of three?”
“I don’t have the time for that. One round will do!” Fang Ye said casually.
“Alright. Ready, set, go!” The muscle man started tensing his wrist. He decided to slowly torture Fang Ye and break his hand first!
Just as he exerted force, his expression changed.
Fang Ye’s wrist was as hard as steel, unyielding no matter how much force he applied.
“This is weird!”
The muscle man didn’t give up and increased his strength.
Fang Ye didn’t seem to feel his effort at all, smiling faintly as he squeezed the man’s hand.
The muscle man’s face contorted, his wrist feeling like it was being clamped by a pair of pliers. Beads of sweat rolled down his forehead as the pressure increased.
“Come on, put some effort into it. Didn’t you eat?” Fang Ye taunted.
“Don’t… don’t get cocky!” The muscle man was furious, gritting his teeth and using all his might.
“Tsk tsk, so weak.” Fang Ye shook his head and pressed the muscle man’s wrist down. With a loud crash, the sturdy wooden table couldn’t withstand the force and split into eight pieces!
“Ouch, ouch, ouch!” The muscle man clutched his wrist, crying out in pain. The pressure had strained his muscles.
“No need to call me grandpa, but remember to leave a five star review. Otherwise I’ll come and find you for a game of arm wrestle.” Fang Ye brushed off the wood dust on his lap, then stood up and leave the muscle man’s house in big strides.
“Monster…he’s a monster…” the muscle man could only watch in a trance as Fang Ye left, while muttering under his breath.
How unlucky could he possibly be? To end up messing with someone like that…
Fang Ye, feeling refreshed, had just hopped onto his electric scooter when his phone rang in his pocket. He pulled it out and saw it was a message from Lin Shuangshuang.
“Fang Ye, I still think it would be more lively with more people tonight. How about we book a private room at the Ruihao Hotel and invite Xiao Li and the others? What do you think?”
“Ruihao Hotel?” Fang Ye was stunned.
That was a famous five-star hotel in the city, and it wasn’t cheap!
Their original plan was to have a romantic dinner for two at a Western Food Restaurant…
