The Top Omega Girlfriend of a Useless Alpha - Chapter 11
Gu Yi was rushed to the nearest hospital. Huo Bing, his face pale, frantically asked the doctor if there was any way to remove the mark.
“Sir, unless you sign the surgical consent form, this is non-negotiable,” the doctor said, glancing at Huo Bing.
He drew a sedative into a thin syringe and slowly injected it into Gu Yi’s slender wrist.
“Who is her Alpha?” the doctor asked. The group that had accompanied them all turned to look at Song Feiyu, who was leaning against the wall.
Song Feiyu pressed her lips together, saying nothing. She didn’t have the ability to mark anyone, yet Gu Yi possessed a sample of her pheromones.
The other woman knew her, knew everything about her.
But Song Feiyu knew nothing in return. She felt trapped in an inescapable web, yet she couldn’t bring herself to hate Gu Yi.
From beginning to end, Gu Yi had never acted against her. On the contrary, these events had only benefited Song Feiyu.
Song Feiyu entered the hospital room.
“Properly comfort your Omega,” the doctor said as he left the room. “It’s an Alpha’s duty.”
It wasn’t uncommon for Alphas and Omegas to mistakenly pair during Heat. While Alphas retained the right to choose again, Omegas often paid the price for such impulsiveness for the rest of their lives.
Song Feiyu sat in the visitor’s chair, dazed. She couldn’t understand what value she held that made her worth exploiting.
She was merely a discarded pawn.
Her slender, onion-stalk-like fingers twisted together, Song Feiyu constantly rubbing and tangling them.
She sought answers within herself, but found none.
“I want an apple,” a weak voice murmured from the bed. Song Feiyu startled.
She scanned the hospital room—there wasn’t an apple in sight. She stood up.
“I’ll go buy you one.”
But before she could take a step, her hem was tugged. Though Gu Yi’s face was pale, her eyes burned with stubbornness.
“You’re supposed to be comforting my Alpha right now. Wouldn’t it seem strange if you suddenly left?”
“Then what should I do…?” Song Feiyu asked, bewildered. If there’s no apple, am I supposed to conjure one out of thin air?
“Tell the people outside.”
Song Feiyu recalled Huo Bing’s murderous glare and felt that stepping outside would be a death sentence. Still, she nodded.
She didn’t refuse.
“Wait.”
Gu Yi grabbed Song Feiyu’s collar with her left hand, pulling her down. Song Feiyu felt a slight choking sensation and lowered her head.
Suddenly, Gu Yi bit her chin.
The sweet, cloying scent of jasmine filled Song Feiyu’s nostrils. Gu Yi’s bite was surprisingly strong, leaving a circular mark on her chin.
“There. If Huo Bing tries to slap you, this will show him who you belong to.”
Gu Yi lightly touched her masterpiece with her fingertip, nodding in satisfaction before releasing Song Feiyu’s collar.
Gu Xuanyu had already sent people to escort Gu Yi and her “cheap” son-in-law back to the Imperial Capital.
Upon hearing this news, Huo Bing grew restless.
His mission had failed, and he knew he would face punishment.
But what would the Boss do to him?
A burning rage simmered within him, with no outlet for release. Just then, the hospital room door swung open.
A faint lavender scent wafted toward him, immediately putting Huo Bing on alert.
“Why aren’t you with the Third Miss? What are you doing here?”
At his words, the other subordinates sitting in the hospital corridor rose to their feet.
All eyes turned warily to Song Feiyu, blocking her path.
As Huo Bing approached for another question, his gaze fell on Song Feiyu’s smooth chin. There, a circular mark stood out—a clear imprint of teeth.
“You…”
All the harsh words he wanted to say died on his tongue. He had to admit it: Song Feiyu was likely to become the Gu Family’s son-in-law.
In other words, a consort prince.
“She wants an apple. Please get one for her.”
With just those words, Song Feiyu turned and retreated into the hospital room, leaving Huo Bing frozen in place.
“Damn it! How dare a poor woman act so arrogant!”
He turned and kicked the wall, venting his anger. But after his outburst, he still had to order his men to buy apples.
Soon, the apples arrived.
They were plump, round, and rosy-red, each one looking as if it had just been plucked from the branch.
Song Feiyu peeled an apple with a small knife, cutting it into bite-sized pieces. She picked up a piece and offered it to Gu Yi.
Gu Yi didn’t eat properly, biting Song Feiyu’s finger several times instead.
“Gu Yi, you’re doing this on purpose,” Song Feiyu finally snapped after her finger had been mistaken for an apple for the fifth time.
She couldn’t help but scold her.
Including the bite on her chin, Gu Yi had bitten her six times today. Even if Song Feiyu wanted to convince herself it was unintentional, she couldn’t.
Gu Yi blinked, looking at Song Feiyu. She didn’t say a word, but her eyes held a smug satisfaction, making it clear she knew Song Feiyu wouldn’t do anything about it.
And things played out exactly as she expected. Song Feiyu continued peeling the apples obediently, as if her earlier protest had never happened.
“My father’s men should be arriving soon,” Gu Yi said, gazing out the window at the brightening sky.
“Mm,” Song Feiyu nodded.
“Is your father Gu Xuanyu?”
Gu Yi asked, clearly surprising Song Feiyu. So she finally figured it out, Song Feiyu thought. I thought she’d only realize when she saw her father in person.
“Yes, but he prefers to be called the Emperor’s Left Hand.”
Song Feiyu set down the knife, handed the last piece of apple to Gu Yi, and watched her eat it.
“Yesterday, in the bunker… if you hadn’t…” Song Feiyu took a deep breath and continued, “If you hadn’t injected the Artificial Pheromone, even if I hadn’t done anything to you, your father wouldn’t have let me off easily, would he?”
Gu Xuanyu’s ruthlessness was legendary; Song Feiyu had heard tales of it back when she was still a Captain. Few who dared cross him met a good end.
“That’s true,” Gu Yi replied.
To Song Feiyu’s astonishment, Gu Yi stood up. Her strength had largely returned; her earlier act of lying in bed, feigning weakness and needing to be fed apples, had been entirely staged.
“But with me here, I won’t let him harm you.”
Gu Yi silently stepped in front of Song Feiyu, shielding her. Song Feiyu reached out and grasped Gu Yi’s wrist, her fingers sliding down to find her palm was icy cold.
“You should lie back down. You’re still recovering…”
Before Song Feiyu could finish, the door burst open.
A dozen people crowded into the room, their black uniforms and stern expressions filling the space.
“Please return, Miss,” one of them said, pushing through the group. The speaker was a man with graying hair, dressed in a light gray suit.
He was the Gu Family assistant who had spoken to Gu Yi on the phone a few days prior.
Gu Yi nodded, agreeing more readily than she had expected.
“I’ll go back, but Song Feiyu has to ride in the same airship as me.”
