The Top Omega Girlfriend of a Useless Alpha - Chapter 12
Song Feiyu had just boarded the airship and hadn’t even settled into her seat when her wrist terminal buzzed.
She answered the call. It was her mother.
“Feiyu, is your wilderness training over?”
The woman’s face was exquisitely maintained, with only fine wrinkles at the corners of her eyes betraying her age. Otherwise, she looked decades younger than her fifty-plus years.
“No,” Song Feiyu replied, shaking her head. She was about to explain to her mother that she needed to come to the Imperial Capital due to some urgent matters.
Just then, a figure drifted into the frame. Gu Yi, wearing a white shirt and holding a book, casually lay down on the bed.
Her slippered feet rested on the mattress, one slipper sliding off to reveal her pale instep.
Song Feiyu quickly adjusted her posture, aiming the terminal’s camera at the airship wall.
But it was too late. Her mother had already seen her.
“Who’s that?” Mother Song’s voice dropped to a whisper, but her eyes couldn’t conceal her curiosity and gossip-hungry gaze.
She immediately recalled her daughter mentioning recently meeting someone through matchmaking and jumped to conclusions.
“Is that your new partner?”
“Yes,” Song Feiyu admitted, seeing no point in hiding it.
“Since you’re both Alphas, being together is quite remarkable. You must take good care of her…”
Mother Song continued to ramble on, Song Feiyu nodding occasionally. Only after her mother finished speaking did she slowly take over the conversation.
“She’s not an Alpha.”
“Huh?”
Mother Song was puzzled. Just a few days ago, her daughter had explicitly stated that the other person was an Alpha.
Though initially hesitant, she had eventually reasoned that as long as the two were happy together—if her daughter had a companion, someone to talk to and alleviate her boredom, someone to share laughter and joy—it wouldn’t matter.
Having finally come to terms with it, Song Feiyu now declared that the other person wasn’t an Alpha.
“Then is she a Beta?” her mother asked. Song Feiyu shook her head again.
“She’s an Omega.”
“And she’s Gu Xuanyu’s daughter.”
Two bombshells exploded in quick succession, leaving Mother Song reeling.
“Feiyu, I’m not trying to lecture you, but how could you be so reckless? Provoking Gu Xuanyu’s daughter? This is… this is practically suicide!”
Song Feiyu wasn’t entirely ordinary. Her father was a fallen noble, and she had even inherited his land on another planet.
Everyone in their social circle knew Gu Xuanyu—his ruthlessness, his vindictiveness.
“Mom, I’m not afraid,” Song Feiyu interrupted, her eyes burning with resolve.
“I’ve never feared anyone. When I chose to join the Fleet, I already accepted that life and death are fleeting.”
Song Feiyu was no longer young, already thirty-six years old. For ordinary citizens of the Empire, this was merely the beginning of life.
The average lifespan of an Imperial citizen could reach three hundred years, but this applied only to ordinary people.
For those who had seen battle, surviving to thirty-six after participating in over a dozen campaigns was exceedingly rare.
Song Feiyu had already defied the odds.
“Since Gu Yi chose me, and I chose her in return, I won’t regret it, nor will I retreat.”
Though she didn’t yet feel a deep affection for Gu Yi, Song Feiyu had already experienced the bittersweet ache of her heart racing.
When did this happen?
She didn’t know, but she suspected it might have been during their accidental collision at the café, when she was perhaps already captivated by Gu Yi’s beauty.
Song Feiyu had never understood how so many historical figures could fall for honey traps. It seemed utterly foolish. But now that she was experiencing it firsthand, she realized just how insidious and treacherous such schemes could be.
As soon as Song Feiyu ended her terminal call with her mother, she barely had time to catch her breath before a gentle arm encircled her neck.
The delicate fragrance of jasmine invaded her senses, leaving her feeling lightheaded.
Having been marked by Gu Yi, Song Feiyu was experiencing a period of heightened dependency. She allowed Gu Yi to embrace her, resting her head against the soft cushion of the chair.
“I won’t regret it, nor will I retreat…”
Gu Yi repeated Song Feiyu’s words slowly, her voice slightly lilting with a relaxed, well-rested tone.
“Such lovely words, Instructor Song.”
Song Feiyu reached out, gently stroking Gu Yi’s cheek with the pad of her finger, her touch feather-light.
Gu Yi’s fair skin, clearly pampered, felt distinctly different from her own.
“Since you chose me, I should act accordingly.”
“After all, I’m your Alpha now.”
Gu Yi narrowed her eyes, clearly enjoying the attention.
She circled around the chair to stand directly in front of Song Feiyu, then settled onto her lap, her fingers twirling around the instructor’s tie.
“But Song Feiyu, do you remember what I said before?”
Her tone, previously languid, now carried a hint of threat.
Song Feiyu couldn’t recall, her gaze blank with confusion.
She looked like a lost sheep, a leader separated from its flock on the vast plains.
“I said I was the Alpha.”
Song Feiyu nearly burst out laughing, but she pressed her lips together to suppress it.
“But you’re not, Gu Yi.”
“If I could, I’d want you to be my Alpha.”
For Song Feiyu, whether she was an Omega or an Alpha didn’t matter.
“No, I mean right now. You’re the Omega, and I’m the Alpha.”
Because Gu Yi was sitting, she was slightly taller than Song Feiyu, who lowered her head.
Looking at Song Feiyu, who seemed as docile as a lamb, Gu Yi couldn’t resist teasing her further.
Song Feiyu seemed to remember something and reached for the gland patch on the back of her neck, only to find it was long gone.
Her glands had already begun releasing pheromones, a faint lavender scent filling the air.
The Jasmine Scent drew the lavender in, blurring Song Feiyu’s vision.
She couldn’t believe it. How could she, a useless Alpha, still be affected?
What was this…
The arousal of an Alpha.
“I doubt anyone’s ever told you this before, because top-tier Alphas and Omegas are only born among the high-ranking nobility.”
“This knowledge belongs to the high-ranking nobility.”
“Once I’ve marked you, you’ll be drawn to me.”
Song Feiyu had to devote most of her mental energy to resisting the overwhelming sensation.
She suddenly felt an intense urge to embrace Gu Yi.
But she knew where they were—on a flying ship.
There might be surveillance cameras on board.
If she did anything reckless, she might not see the sun rise tomorrow.
“Don’t do this, Gu Yi…”
Song Feiyu took several deep breaths, gently nuzzling her forehead against Gu Yi’s neck in a gesture of submission.
“If your father finds out, I’ll be in deep trouble.”
Gu Xuanyu’s notorious reputation preceded him. Even if Song Feiyu wasn’t afraid of death, she had to consider the other punishments this man might inflict.
“So, who’s the Alpha now?”
Gu Yi slowly began withdrawing her pheromones, her haughty demeanor more Alpha-like than any Alpha.
At that moment, Song Feiyu felt a disorienting illusion, as if she were an Omega completely under Gu Yi’s control.
