The Top Omega Girlfriend of a Useless Alpha - Chapter 20
The mixed flavors slid down Song Feiyu’s throat, instantly making her head spin. She gripped the counter, barely managing to stay upright.
Gu Yi, meanwhile, secretly counted the seconds in her mind. Before twenty seconds had passed, Song Feiyu collapsed forward.
Gu Yi smoothly caught her in her arms.
“Instructor Song…” she murmured softly.
Song Feiyu opened her eyes, feeling utterly helpless. When did I become such a lightweight? she wondered. A single mixed drink knocked me out?
“I’m fine,” Song Feiyu managed to say, forcing herself to rally.
But then Gu Yi’s hand settled on her waist, slowly tightening her grip like a python constricting its prey. The cool pads of Gu Yi’s fingers felt like the serpent’s scales, jolting Song Feiyu’s muddled mind back to clarity.
“Don’t do this,” Song Feiyu protested. “We have to send people off tomorrow.”
Gu Yi didn’t release her. Instead, she pressed closer, relentless.
“Just be with me once,” Gu Yi insisted, making her intentions clear.
“Alphas can’t get pregnant,” Song Feiyu retorted.
Leaning close to Gu Yi’s ear, she spoke each word deliberately, her lavender scent mingling with the aroma of alcohol like a vintage wine.
“I know. I just want you,” Gu Yi repeated.
Song Feiyu chuckled softly and reached up to loosen her tie.
Perhaps due to her intoxication, her fingers trembled as she struggled, but she eventually managed to undo the knot. The tie hung loosely over her shoulder.
“Just once,” she said. “My back will ache if we go on too long.”
Song Feiyu had reviewed Gu Yi’s file. Though the details were embellished, her age was accurate: Gu Yi was only twenty-seven, a full nine years younger than her.
While Imperials enjoyed long lifespans, younger generations still cared about such age differences.
To the Empire’s citizens, Song Feiyu was at the peak of her prime. Yet her body, scarred by war, was no longer what it once had been. This was why she had volunteered for rear-line duty.
“Mm,” Gu Yi nodded, lowering her head to find those fragrant, soft lips.
Their breaths mingled, and the delicate scents of lavender and jasmine intertwined.
Gu Yi’s soft hair brushed against Song Feiyu’s cheek. Song Feiyu brushed it aside with her fingers, but it soon fell back into place.
“Is it very itchy?” Gu Yi asked, distracted by Song Feiyu’s fidgeting.
“Very itchy,” Song Feiyu admitted truthfully.
“Then I’ll tie it up for you.” Gu Yi reached for the hair tie on the bedside table, fumbling for it for a while before finally finding it.
She held the hair tie in her mouth, brushed her long black hair behind her ears with her fingers, and slowly tied it up.
To Song Feiyu, the night felt both endlessly long and like a fleeting moment. She rested her hand on Gu Yi’s back and closed her eyes, letting herself sink into the moment.
An Alpha being seduced by an Omega? People would laugh their heads off if they found out.
But Song Feiyu didn’t care.
This was how you coax someone—by playing the long game, letting the fish willingly take the bait before reeling them in.
The price, however, was…
Song Feiyu woke up in the morning to a sharp pain in her right side. She glanced at Gu Yi, who was sleeping soundly with her head resting on Song Feiyu’s shoulder, her breathing even.
Seeming to be in a deep sleep.
Song Feiyu placed a hand on her aching side and gently massaged it to ease the soreness.
If only I hadn’t been injured… Back then, I could take on a dozen Zerg warriors without even breaking a sweat.
“What’s wrong?”
Gu Yi woke up startled by the commotion, her eyes snapping open.
She yawned, having stayed up late the night before.
It was her own fault for getting so excited that her pheromones went haywire. She’d needed several injections of lavender Artificial Pheromone to calm down.
“Time to get up,” Song Feiyu said, patting Gu Yi’s back to rouse her. Gu Yi glanced at the clock—it was indeed almost time for Gu Xueze’s departure.
Slowly, she sat up, slipped on her slippers, and prepared to get ready. She would see off the sister she didn’t particularly like.
The two arrived outside the Gu Family Manor, where dozens of hovercars were parked.
Gu Xueze stood by the gate, discussing something with Ji Ham. The Master hadn’t come out to see her off, but she didn’t mind.
She had expected only Gu Yan and Ji Ham to see her off today. Gu Xueze planned to exchange a few words and leave, sending Song Feiyu a transfer order as she went.
Though she wouldn’t be able to witness her younger sister’s colorful reaction, the mere thought of making Gu Yi suffer filled Gu Xueze with satisfaction.
Gu Yi’s mother had been her own mother’s nightmare, and Gu Xueze had loathed Gu Yi from the moment of her birth.
Unexpectedly, two figures slowly approached the manor gate.
Song Feiyu had changed into casual attire today, abandoning her usual rigid instructor’s uniform. A light gray wool vest over a white shirt made her figure, previously hidden beneath the uniform, appear even more slender.
White trousers hugged her long legs. When Song Feiyu spotted Gu Xueze, she immediately greeted her with a smile, seemingly unfazed by the events of the day before yesterday.
Gu Xueze had nearly been killed by Gu Xueze’s pheromones.
In contrast to Song Feiyu’s cheerful demeanor, Gu Yi wore a sour expression.
“Good luck and safe travels,” Song Feiyu said, touching two fingers to her ear in a simple captain’s salute.
Gu Xueze merely nodded, not returning the gesture.
She glanced at Song Feiyu, thinking it would be better to give her the message now rather than wait for her to send it later.
She pulled a small envelope from her br3ast pocket.
“You’ve come at the perfect time. I was just about to mail this to you. It’s a handwritten letter from Her Highness the Crown Princess.”
Song Feiyu looked surprised but reached out to take it.
“Thank you.”
Despite her words, she couldn’t fathom why the Crown Princess would write to her.
Song Feiyu’s fleet had always been loyal supporters of the Crown Princess’s faction. But after their near-total annihilation, with only Song Feiyu surviving, they barely constituted a minor force anymore.
Just as Song Feiyu was about to tuck the letter away, Gu Xueze stepped closer, the overwhelming camphor scent giving her a headache.
“Open it and see.”
The moment she spoke, Gu Yi sensed something was wrong.
“What are you planning?”
Gu Yi pressed her hand against the letter, feeling that opening it now would be like opening Pandora’s Box.
“Sister, this is an order from the Crown Princess.”
Gu Xueze glared at Gu Yi with a provocative look. In that instant, Gu Yi guessed her opponent’s scheme, her face paling slightly.
Her fingers clenched tightly together.
Does it really have to be this way?
To force her into marrying someone useful, someone who would benefit the family, they were even invoking the Crown Princess’s authority.
What a masterful move.
Song Feiyu glanced at Gu Yi and gently ruffled her hair.
“It’s alright. I’m still here.”
With that, she tore open the letter.
The neatly written Imperial script read:
Song Yin, your exceptional abilities would be wasted if you remained behind the scenes. For this fleet’s expedition to eliminate the interstellar pirates, I request you accompany and command the operation.
Consider it setting an example for the new captains.
Thank you for your cooperation.
