The Top Omega Girlfriend of a Useless Alpha - Chapter 21
Song Feiyu had been given this mission under emergency circumstances, leaving her no room to refuse. She had no choice but to accompany Gu Xueze.
Before leaving, she glanced at Gu Yi, her eyes filled with reluctance.
“They’re doing this on purpose. You’re so badly injured—how can they send you back to the front lines?” Gu Yi frowned deeply, clearly disapproving.
“There’s no choice. These are the Crown Princess’s orders, and I can’t refuse them,” Song Feiyu replied.
She reached out to hug Gu Yi, patting her back before forcing a lighthearted smile. “The Interstellar Pirates are much weaker than the Zerg. I’m sure I’ll be back before you know it.”
She pinched Gu Yi’s cheek. “Wait for me.”
Gu Yi had only managed to win Song Feiyu over a few days ago, and now she was being torn away from her side. She couldn’t accept it, but she knew she couldn’t show her distress to her sister. The more upset she seemed, the more pleased her sister would be.
Gu Yi took a deep breath and nodded. “Come back soon.”
She even leaned in to lightly nibble Song Feiyu’s nape through the thin pheromone patch.
“Mm.”
“I’ll try to come back as soon as possible.”
Having commanded the Fleet for so many years, Song Feiyu was confident in her extensive experience in suppressing pirates.
She gave her word and boarded the hovercar.
But she kept turning back, her eyes filled with reluctance.
“Stop looking back,” Gu Xueze said, glancing briefly at Song Feiyu before leaning back in her seat and closing her eyes to rest.
As the motorcade drove away, Gu Yi turned and stomped her foot angrily. These people always found ways to go against her wishes.
But how could she be defeated by such a short separation?
Gu Yi ran home, pulled out the uniform she had kept hidden at the bottom of her closet. Though a bit old, the Empire rarely changed its uniforms.
If she could just sneak in, she’d have plenty of opportunities to be with Song Feiyu.
With that thought, Gu Yi changed into the black uniform, tied up her long hair, and looked in the mirror. She looked almost exactly the same as she had six or seven years ago.
The only difference was that back then, she had to wear a daily disguise, pretending to be her sister.
The Flying Ship had been traveling for half a month, yet they hadn’t even caught a glimpse of an Interstellar Pirate. Song Feiyu gazed out at the vast starry sky beyond the command console, feeling utterly exhausted.
Staring into the endless night and the cosmos for extended periods put a strain on the mind.
As she stepped out of the cabin, every joint in her body ached.
Song Feiyu peeled off the medicated patch from her elbow and was about to head to the medical bay for a fresh one when a junior officer approached.
The officer wore a black uniform with a completely black collar, indicating they were a low-ranking logistics personnel with no special assignments.
“Where are you going?” Song Feiyu suddenly called out. The officer froze but didn’t dare turn around, their head bowed so low that the black uniform cap nearly obscured their entire face.
“R-reporting to you, Captain,” the officer stammered in a barely audible voice, “the new supplies have arrived. I need to go to the warehouse to move them.”
Song Feiyu felt a vague sense of familiarity, though she couldn’t quite place it. She’d seen countless rookies like this, especially those who were nervous around superiors.
After all, she was the Captain, even if she no longer commanded an entire fleet as she once had.
These dozen or so Flying Ships were under her unified command, so it was no wonder the officer was so intimidated.
“Not so fast. Fetch me some medicine—my usual ointment.”
“Tell the medical staff to deliver it once a day. I have multiple affected areas.”
Since someone was passing by, Song Feiyu decided to return to her quarters to rest.
“Yes, Captain,” the newcomer nodded and left.
Watching the man’s retreating figure, Song Feiyu felt something was missing. After a moment, she realized he hadn’t given her the Captain’s salute.
“Such a careless rookie…” she chuckled, shaking her head.
Back in her quarters, she had barely settled into bed when a knock came at the door. Assuming it was the newcomer she had summoned earlier, Song Feiyu closed her eyes and propped her long legs on the edge of the bed.
“Come in.”
The door creaked open, but Song Feiyu didn’t open her eyes. She gestured toward the table.
“Just leave it there, please.”
But after a long wait, she heard no sound of the door closing.
Song Feiyu finally opened her eyes. She was met by a pair of pitch-black eyes and a face so familiar it felt like a part of her own.
“Gu Yi?”
Her initial excitement choked her voice into silence, the kind of reaction one has when confronted with overwhelming joy.
But then Song Feiyu remembered the danger Gu Yi had risked by escaping so recklessly, and her beautiful brows furrowed slightly.
“Your family must be worried about you.”
“Who’s worried?”
“My father, perhaps…”
Gu Yi clasped her hands behind her back, her presence suddenly towering despite her novice uniform, radiating an invisible pressure.
“He schemed to send you here, never considering my feelings from beginning to end.”
Gu Yi placed her hand on Song Feiyu’s shoulder.
“Do you know how much I’ve missed you these past two weeks?”
Heaven knew how unbearable it had been for her to be stuck with those sweaty Alphas. How could some female Alphas neglect personal hygiene so badly? Every second in that eight-person dormitory had been agony.
“I know, but didn’t we agree to meet after I’ve wiped out the Interstellar Pirates?” Song Feiyu took Gu Yi’s hand and gently kissed her fingers.
It was a gesture common among nobles—a hand kiss—but instead of kissing the back of her hand, Song Feiyu chose her fingers. In the Empire, this was a gesture reserved solely for lovers and intimate partners.
“I can’t wait any longer.”
Gu Yi gazed at Song Feiyu, slowly closing the distance until she backed her against the bed.
The intense jasmine scent filled the Captain’s quarters, overwhelming all other smells in an instant.
“I injected your pheromones…”
“I want you.”
Gu Yi held Song Feiyu close.
Even if she had injected artificial pheromones, the genetic template for those pheromones originated from Song Feiyu.
Therefore, Gu Yi wouldn’t develop feelings for the artificial pheromones themselves, but rather for the source of their template—Song Feiyu.
Sensing Gu Yi’s increasingly erratic behavior, Song Feiyu quickly pressed the back of her hand to Gu Yi’s forehead. The moment her hand touched Gu Yi’s skin, she recoiled in shock—the heat was scalding.
“Your Heat has come early…”
Song Feiyu immediately understood. When an Alpha is separated from their marked Omega for an extended period, the Omega’s Heat cycle can become unstable, a condition commonly known as pheromone imbalance.
“Why didn’t you use the artificial pheromones?” Song Feiyu asked gently, wrapping her arms around Gu Yi. Her voice carried no reproach, only tenderness.
“I didn’t want to. That stuff is just a substitute for you. If you’re not here, I’d rather not use it at all.”
Gu Yi gazed at Song Feiyu’s cheek, her mind slowing like rusty gears grinding to a halt.
“Captain… when will you realize that person was me…?”
“What person?” Song Feiyu immediately countered, but Gu Yi had already slumped against her shoulder, unconscious.
