The Top Omega Girlfriend of a Useless Alpha - Chapter 22
With such a beauty in her arms, how could Song Feiyu resist?
Especially since this woman was Song Feiyu’s current girlfriend. Knowing she lacked the ability to mark Gu Yi and alleviate her discomfort with pheromones, there was only one course of action left: physical intimacy.
Song Feiyu gently laid Gu Yi down and began unbuttoning her own uniform. Captain’s attire was notoriously intricate, and Song Feiyu worked slowly, then lowered her head, bringing her face close to Gu Yi’s.
“I’m sorry…”
“My pheromones are too weak.”
Her voice was filled with apology, but her hands didn’t pause.
Gu Yi’s skin was strikingly pale. Song Feiyu had once seen a portrait of Gu Yi’s mother at the Gu Family estate, and the resemblance was uncanny.
The noblewoman who had once been constantly hounded by paparazzi.
The beauty branded as a mistress by many—no wonder Gu Xuanyu remained obsessed with her memory.
Even after so many years since her death, he still clung to photographs, living in the past.
Gu Yi’s mother had possessed mesmerizing violet eyes, a trait Gu Yi hadn’t inherited, instead taking her father’s black irises. Yet, upon closer inspection, faint violet shadows could still be discerned within her eyes, like a purple lotus blooming in a dark lake.
When Gu Yi opened her eyes, a bead of sweat trickled down her cheek. She gazed at Song Feiyu and couldn’t resist reaching up to encircle the captain’s neck.
“You still need me,” she murmured, tilting her head back to find Song Feiyu’s soft lips.
Song Feiyu responded, letting the sweat-dampened strands of hair cling to her face.
After what felt like an eternity, a piercing alarm blared through the Flying Ship. Song Feiyu jolted awake from her exhausted slumber and hastily threw on her clothes.
“What’s happening?”
Gu Yi remained remarkably calm, making no sudden movements. After all, her cover was that of a low-ranking logistics soldier, and there was no need to assemble.
“I suspect they’ve detected Interstellar Pirates,” Song Feiyu said, her brow furrowing. “But the urgency of the alarm suggests the pirates are attacking us directly.”
Song Feiyu only had time to throw on her coat, not even bothering to button it. As she turned to leave, she glanced back at Gu Yi, a pang of reluctance in her heart. They had barely reunited before being forced apart by this emergency.
Cupping Gu Yi’s cheek, Song Feiyu felt the warmth of her skin beneath her palm. She pressed a kiss to Gu Yi’s cheek.
“Wait for me,” she murmured. “I’ll be back tonight.”
With that, Song Feiyu straightened her collar and strode out of the Captain’s Quarters.
Gu Yi sat alone on the bed, staring blankly at her wrist, where mottled marks lingered.
Who said this woman was abstinent? she thought. My colleagues were talking nonsense. When properly seduced, she has practically no resistance at all.
Still, Gu Yi found herself drawn to Song Feiyu’s gentle demeanor, which reminded her so much of the radiant Honorary Captain she had once known.
When Song Feiyu arrived, the other officers were already waiting. Her hat was askew, and her robe hung loosely, clearly indicating she had just rushed out after a clandestine rendezvous.
The subordinates exchanged glances, the air thick with unspoken implications.
After all, the rumors of Song Feiyu’s affair with Gu Yi had long since spread throughout the Imperial Capital.
Everyone knew, everyone understood. Song Feiyu’s disheveled appearance, as if she had just tumbled out of bed, strongly suggested infidelity.
Yet no one dared speak up.
Song Feiyu had been personally appointed Captain by the Crown Princess herself. No one dared question what she had been doing before the enemy’s arrival.
Only her Executive Officer, looking slightly embarrassed, pointed to Song Feiyu’s collar.
Understanding his meaning, Song Feiyu checked her neck using the terminal’s mirror.
Sure enough, there was a lipstick stain. She lightly touched it, her fingertip coming away vividly colored.
Clearly, it had been left recently.
Gu Yi…
That woman is determined to embarrass me, Song Feiyu thought, shaking her head.
Not angry, she merely tightened her necktie and tugged it upward, concealing half the stain.
“Since the alarm has sounded, it means the pirates have been detected. Does the Radar Department have their precise location?” Song Feiyu asked.
“Reporting, Captain, we have their exact coordinates. However…”
“Just what…?”
The officer hesitated, and Song Feiyu immediately turned to him, her expression stern.
“We’ve detected Zerg traces—the Zerg’s latest battle armor. There are approximately several hundred units.”
The number was relatively small, but the fact that they were equipped with the newest armor meant a larger Zerg fleet might be nearby. After all, only a handful of fleets could field such advanced technology, all notorious for their bloodthirsty legions.
Song Feiyu’s face darkened.
They had long since separated from the main fleet, tasked with hunting down fleeing pirate ships. Yet after more than half a month of fruitless searching, they had stumbled into a Zerg nest by sheer misfortune.
What rotten luck.
Song Feiyu wasn’t afraid of combat; she had been fighting the Zerg for over a decade. Her only concern was Gu Yi.
“If the Interstellar Pirates encounter the Zerg, they’ll be torn to shreds. Let’s remain silent for now and activate the Flying Ship’s stealth mode.”
“Let them fight each other.”
After issuing the command, Song Feiyu turned to another communications officer.
“Send a message to the main fleet: we’ve encountered the Zerg. Exact numbers unknown. Request immediate reinforcements.”
Then she addressed the vanguard team.
“Dispatch two of our sharpest minds to scout the area using the fastest aircraft.”
With these orders given, everyone dispersed to carry out their respective tasks.
Only Song Feiyu wore a troubled expression.
After the meeting adjourned, she descended the steps, intending to return to her quarters to find Gu Yi.
Just then, she noticed someone following her.
“Captain,” the Executive Officer said hesitantly, “there’s something I’m not sure I should say…”
Song Feiyu turned to face him. “Speak freely. I won’t be angry.”
She assumed he was about to reprimand her for her disheveled appearance and had already braced herself to humbly accept the criticism.
Instead, he slowly began, revealing something entirely different.
“You should really break up with that woman. I know being with Miss Gu must be stressful, but if you truly wrong her, Duke Gu Xuanyu will likely show no mercy.”
The Interstellar Pirates were less like pirates and more like small federations banding together to secretly plunder the Empire’s resources.
Once, these fools dared to steal from the Gu Family. Within half a month, every small planet where the pirates operated had been obliterated.
Not a single living thing survived—not a person, not an animal. Not even a speck of dust or a blade of grass had any chance of survival.
The terror of Gu Xuanyu was such that even those stationed far away on the Flying Ship trembled at his name.
When the Executive Officer first learned that their newly appointed Honorary Captain had accidentally marked Gu Yi, he immediately sensed her days were numbered. Now, Song Feiyu didn’t even bother to conceal the lipstick stain from her lover, brazenly wearing it into the conference room.
By now, he imagined the line of people reporting her to Gu Xuanyu would stretch around the block.
The only way to save herself was to beg Third Miss Gu for forgiveness.
Hence, the Executive Officer’s veiled warning to their reckless new Captain.
