The Top Omega Girlfriend of a Useless Alpha - Chapter 27
Song Feiyu had held out for days, but reinforcements were nowhere in sight, and the Flying Ship’s supplies were dwindling.
Gazing at the snarling Zerg swarming outside the viewport, she made her decision.
“Summon everyone.”
Song Feiyu looked at her Executive Officer, her expression calm and composed, showing no trace of the panic one would expect in such a perilous situation.
“Captain, are you planning to…?” the officer asked, his voice tinged with confusion.
“Sisfen intends to starve us out. Rather than wait for that, we’ll fight our way out. If we can tear a hole in their encirclement, we might have a chance of survival.”
Song Feiyu knew they couldn’t delay any longer. Reinforcements weren’t coming. If they continued to hold out, they would only be slowly worn down to death.
She went to the hangar where the mecha were stored. Surveying the outdated models, she gently ran her hand across a pale white mecha.
“Old friend, we meet again,” she murmured with a soft laugh. Years ago, she had fought the Zerg in this very mecha. She never imagined she would have to wear it again after all this time.
Her forehead pressed against the small mecha’s chest, as if in prayer.
“I hope I’ll be as lucky as last time.”
Song Feiyu had prayed like this before, but back then her heart had been empty. Now, it was different.
She had Gu Yi, her little lover, her wild rose.
Song Feiyu opened her eyes. She had gathered the main fleet, activated the Flying Ship’s self-destruct sequence, and watched as the ships exploded one by one, countless Zerg torn to shreds by the ensuing firestorm.
Sisfen observed the carnage, his gaze fixed on the white mecha.
It was clear this pilot was the fleet’s leader.
“The commander has emerged,” Sisfen chuckled, his four bl00d-red compound eyes gleaming like a demon’s in hell.
Song Feiyu controlled her mecha, extending its white blade and slashing mercilessly at Sisfen.
The other pilots fired electronic tracking cannons, their sole objective to kill this insect with its armor as hard as iron.
But Sisfen was far from an easy target. The electronic blasts merely tickled his carapace—a natural gift of the Zerg.
This was the Zerg’s capital, the reason they could rampage across the universe.
Song Feiyu was quickly wounded. Her brand-new mecha became battered, riddled with deep gouges from the Zerg’s razor-sharp claws.
Song Feiyu felt utterly helpless.
She was no longer the woman she had been years ago, her dynamic vision and physical capabilities diminished.
“Why did the higher-ups send such trash…”
Sisfen’s sharp claws sliced through the cockpit. When he saw the pilot inside, his eyes widened in astonishment.
“Aren’t you supposed to be dead…?”
In that moment of stunned silence, a figure attacked from behind.
A black blade slashed through the night sky, severing one of Sisfen’s insectoid legs. Pale green fluid congealed into spherical droplets in the vacuum of space.
“Ah!”
Sisfen whirled around in pain to see a towering black mecha, twice the size of a small aircraft.
“Let her go!”
Gu Yi glared coldly at Sisfen, her brow furrowed.
Behind Gu Yi came the vanguard sent by Kuli—several thousand armored suits, a dense, swarming mass.
“Damn it, reinforcements are here!”
Sisfen turned sharply. Deep within enemy territory, he knew he had to retreat immediately to avoid being surrounded.
Watching Sisfen flee in disarray, Gu Yi couldn’t afford to pursue the Empire’s most wanted criminal. Instead, she extended her mecha’s arm, clumsily catching Song Feiyu, who was drifting in space. She opened the mechanical hatch and reached out to pull Song Feiyu inside.
Though space lacked oxygen, the Empire’s citizens possessed remarkable physical resilience, capable of surviving for over ten minutes in the vacuum. Gu Yi frantically grabbed an oxygen tank from the emergency kit and quickly administered it to Song Feiyu.
Song Feiyu’s injuries went beyond oxygen deprivation; she was severely wounded in multiple areas.
Gu Yi, now unable to focus on piloting, left the black mecha hovering motionless in space. She retrieved a medical injection from the emergency kit and watched as the green fluid slowly entered Song Feiyu’s body.
“Ugh… ah!”
Song Feiyu gritted her teeth, letting out a muffled groan before finally opening her eyes. Her eyes were bloodshot, and her once soft, curly hair was now disheveled and matted.
“Gu Yi?”
Song Feiyu felt as if she were hallucinating. How could Gu Yi be here? She had clearly sent her away to a safe place.
“I’m here,” Gu Yi said, wrapping her arms around Song Feiyu. As Song Feiyu’s vision gradually cleared, she slowly sat up.
“What are you doing here?” Song Feiyu asked urgently. This was a battlefield against the Zerg—how could an Omega like Gu Yi come to such a dangerous place?
“I should be asking you that, Song Feiyu. Why did you send me away?” Gu Yi retorted, her eyes blazing. But this wasn’t the time for arguments. She quickly selected a coordinate and began maneuvering the Mecha to a safer location.
“I was worried about you,” Song Feiyu admitted truthfully.
“You shouldn’t have come here,” Gu Yi snapped, her anger still simmering.
“Then would you rather I watched your corpse? If I hadn’t come today, guess what would have happened to you?” Gu Yi pinched Song Feiyu’s earlobe, this time without holding back. Song Feiyu winced, her brows furrowing.
Just as Song Feiyu was about to reply, she felt a tightness in her chest and shortness of breath. Bl00d began trickling from her nose and the corners of her mouth.
“Cough, cough, cough…”
Gu Yi panicked, instantly releasing Song Feiyu’s ear. “Where else are you injured?” she asked frantically, her hands flying over Song Feiyu’s body. Every touch revealed more wounds, her fingertips coming away sticky with bl00d.
“My chest,” Song Feiyu said truthfully. Sisfen’s claw had pierced not only the cockpit but also her chest cavity.
“Idiot! Why didn’t you say so sooner?” Gu Yi frantically searched for hemostatic agents and gauze.
Song Feiyu also had cuts on her hands from the mecha fragments. Gritting her teeth, she barely managed to lift her arm.
Gu Yi’s fingers trembled as she peeled off Song Feiyu’s captain’s jacket. The sight of the bl00d-soaked inner garment, now an even deeper crimson, made her breath catch in her throat.
Unbuttoning the shirt, Gu Yi first used gauze to remove the clotted bl00d and debris, then poured medicinal powder over the wound.
Song Feiyu watched Gu Yi’s face, her eyes filled with concern and focused concentration. She suddenly felt she might have been wrong about her.
Gu Yi wasn’t the fragile Omega she had imagined. Her agility and decisiveness were no less impressive than those of an Alpha.
Leaning forward abruptly, Song Feiyu’s slightly curled hair brushed against Gu Yi’s cheek, the faint scent of lavender mingling with the metallic tang of bl00d.
She pressed a lingering kiss against Gu Yi’s cheek—soft, light, and ticklish.
“I’m sorry. I was wrong…” Song Feiyu murmured, her voice softening. Her weary eyes finally seemed to find solace.
“I shouldn’t have thought you were weak. You’re actually stronger than most Alphas, even stronger than me.”
