The Top Omega Girlfriend of a Useless Alpha - Chapter 29
Song Feiyu’s warm breath brushed against Gu Yi’s skin as she looked up at her, her eyes filled with sincerity.
“Not dirty,” Song Feiyu said. “You need me. I’m your Alpha. It’s my duty to care for you.”
Gu Yi’s fingertips trembled as she pressed her palm against Song Feiyu’s forehead, her fingers stroking the woman’s curled hair. She tried to push her away with all her might.
“I don’t need… I…”
But after only a few words, the peculiar nature of her Heat slowed Gu Yi’s speech, making it halting and fragmented, as if her words were being chewed to pieces before they could form coherent sentences.
Song Feiyu ignored her struggles and continued to lean closer. Gu Yi was too weak to resist with the meager strength in her hand.
The soft hair, like wool, slipped through Gu Yi’s fingers.
In the end, Gu Yi could only grip those strands of hair to steady herself.
Her toes curled, digging into the plush carpet.
Gu Yi had a biological alarm clock and didn’t need to sleep in. She woke up groggily, still half-asleep, and before she could even make out the person beside her, she was enveloped by the faint, intoxicating scent of lavender.
Song Feiyu remained asleep. Gu Yi leaned down to look at her.
Some of the bandages on Song Feiyu’s body were stained with dark brown bloodstains, a jarring sight.
I need to change her bandages early, Gu Yi thought.
She rested her head on Song Feiyu’s shoulder. She had underestimated her Captain; she was surprisingly capable.
Her ability to learn wasn’t limited to the Flying Ship; she picked things up quickly in other areas too.
Song Feiyu’s gentle demeanor and non-threatening appearance often made people want to tease her.
Gu Yi reached out and poked Song Feiyu’s nose, recalling how patiently Song Feiyu had taught her, her voice soft and gentle.
Though many secretly mocked her as a “defective Alpha,” Gu Yi didn’t care.
Even with a genetic compatibility score of zero, she still loved her.
Feeling a tickle on her cheek, Song Feiyu opened her eyes and looked at Gu Yi.
“Awake so early?” Her voice was hoarse, her slightly swollen lips pressed together.
“The Heat is over.”
“Thank you,” Song Feiyu said.
Gu Yi smiled and nodded, then leaned down to kiss Song Feiyu’s forehead. Her hair brushed across Song Feiyu’s face, creating an intimate, lingering warmth.
Remembering the events of the previous night, Song Feiyu’s gaze softened involuntarily.
“It’s nothing,” she murmured, as she often did. She sat up, intending to get dressed and wash up.
Gu Yi followed close behind. She had never been one to linger in bed and always rose early.
Song Feiyu had been rescued on short notice and had no clothes of her own, so she had to wear what Gu Yi had brought. Gu Yi was only slightly shorter than her, so the shirts fit snugly but didn’t reveal anything too obvious.
However, the clothes were made of luxurious, aristocratic fabrics, making Song Feiyu feel as if she were lying among precious jewels and jade.
After pinning a brooch on Song Feiyu, Gu Yi nodded in satisfaction. “You look beautiful like this, like a countess.”
Song Feiyu gazed at her reflection in the mirror and smiled, nodding in agreement. She placed her hand on Gu Yi’s shoulder.
“Then you must be the count’s wife.”
Gu Yi looked at her and shook her head. “That’s so boring.”
Suddenly, Gu Yi’s palm pressed against Song Feiyu’s shoulder, shoving her against the cold cabin door with a forceful push.
“Count, I’m the little wildflower who climbed in through your window,” Gu Yi said, nuzzling Song Feiyu’s neck.
After a playful interlude, they headed to the mess hall for dinner.
To minimize weight, the Fleet rarely carried high-end ingredients, relying instead on frozen meat. Still, the meals were considered quite decent.
Song Feiyu, still recovering from her injuries, had a poor appetite and ate little. She picked at a few pieces of meat and quickly finished her meal.
The return journey would take only a few days to reach the Imperial Capital, but Song Feiyu felt no joy at the prospect of going home. She knew she had to make a choice.
She had never wanted to get involved in the power struggles between the imperial heirs, but now the arrow was drawn, and she had to release it.
She could live as a solitary wanderer, free as a cloud or a wild crane.
But Gu Yi couldn’t.
Omegas needed stability. Though they had escaped unscathed this time, there was no guarantee of safety in the future.
After much deliberation, Song Feiyu retrieved her fountain pen and personally wrote a letter. She handed it to one of the Imperial soldiers guarding them.
“Please deliver this to the Captain.”
It was a letter declaring her allegiance. From that moment on, Song Feiyu was no longer a loyal subject.
Despite meticulous preparations, the unexpected still occurred.
Today, as the Fleet docked at a planetary depot to replenish energy, a pitch-black warship materialized in the distance—an advanced vessel of the Empire.
While others steered clear, Song Feiyu stood by the window, scrutinizing the warship.
“That’s the latest Black Widow Battleship,” Gu Yi explained from beside her. Song Feiyu nodded.
Her gaze swept across the warship’s hull, and she couldn’t help but lament, If only I’d had equipment like this back then, I wouldn’t have been forced to flee Alber Star with my head in my hands.
“Those laser cannons are enormous. They must require immense energy,” Song Feiyu remarked, glancing down at Gu Yi. The latter’s theoretical knowledge of Flying Ships far surpassed her own. Gu Yi knew precisely which energy stones powered the laser cannons, and the range of their energy beams.
Song Feiyu lacked such technical expertise, but she could discern which cannons could shatter Zerg armor and which were only suitable for engaging Interstellar Pirates.
“Of course. Even the Empire possesses only a handful of these. But what’s such a rare vessel doing here?” Gu Yi wondered aloud.
Song Feiyu, however, sensed something amiss. She noticed the cannons slowly rotating, their muzzles aligning with their position.
Reacting swiftly, she grabbed Gu Yi by the waist and yanked her to the ground.
Caught off guard, Gu Yi’s chin slammed against Song Feiyu’s shoulder as they fell.
A sharp pain made her delicate brows furrow slightly. Even her voice softened.
“What are you doing?!”
“Cover your ears!”
Song Feiyu only had time to say this before Gu Yi could react, so she had to cover Gu Yi’s ears herself.
Then, a white energy wave shattered the glass.
Song Feiyu tried to turn and shield Gu Yi with her body, but it was too late.
Glass shards sliced across her cheek.
Song Feiyu watched helplessly as Gu Yi was struck by the energy wave and lost consciousness.
Her own ears rang with a deafening buzz, leaving her unable to hear.
“Gu Yi!”
Song Feiyu called out, but there was no response.
The Black Widow Battleship’s cannons were already beginning to recharge their energy waves.
Ignoring her injuries, Song Feiyu quickly pulled Gu Yi into her arms and dragged her exhausted, wounded body away.
Directly bombarding the entire battleship—this despicable, shameless tactic had exceeded Song Feiyu’s predictions.
If Gu Xuanyu had wanted to kill her, he wouldn’t have used a method that would drag Gu Yi down with her.
This electronic cannon strike was clearly intended to kill both of them, and possibly the entire Fleet.
Who could be behind this?
Song Feiyu couldn’t guess, and she didn’t have the mind to try.
Only one thought consumed her: Escape! Escape!
