The Top Omega Girlfriend of a Useless Alpha - Chapter 30
Gu Xueze sat at the table, her hand hovering over the button, unable to press it.
Po Ye glanced at her casually and effortlessly pressed the red button.
“Your Highness…” Gu Xueze looked up at Po Ye in shock. The other woman’s long golden hair cascaded loosely around her shoulders, and a sweet, intoxicating scent of wine emanated from her—Po Ye’s pheromones.
“This isn’t like you. Why are you hesitating?” Po Ye asked, her voice light and indifferent, as if she had just activated a toy rather than a laser cannon. She wore half-moon glasses with silver chains dangling from her ears, her brows lowered slightly.
“I just hadn’t made up my mind,” Gu Xueze replied, rising to face her. “The Curry Family has already discovered us. If we continue to act so openly, Your Majesty will inevitably find a pretext to intervene.”
“I can’t let my personal affairs implicate you, Your Highness.”
Po Ye simply nodded.
She raised her gaze to meet Gu Xueze’s eyes, her fingertips lightly tracing the curve of Gu Xueze’s cheek.
“If we’re going to do this, we must go all the way. Doing half-measures will only make us a laughingstock.”
“Xueze, you still don’t understand.”
Gu Xueze lowered her head.
“Yes.”
With those words, all traces of her earlier hesitation vanished.
Po Ye cupped Gu Xueze’s cheeks in her hands, her movements imbued with an innate nobility.
“Look up,” Po Ye commanded. Gu Xueze immediately obeyed.
Po Ye opened her mouth and pressed it against Gu Xueze’s chin.
“These next few days might be difficult for you. I suspect my brother, having discovered my weakness, will rush to report it to Father.”
“I’m in Heat and don’t want to meet with those ministers.”
“You’ll deliver my messages.”
Gu Xueze nodded, wrapping her arms around Po Ye and slowly yielding.
She allowed the scent of wine to envelop her, the camphor scent surrendering almost without resistance.
Song Feiyu’s last memory was of the Flying Ship plummeting to its destruction, a metal fragment piercing her skull.
She lost consciousness, and when she finally awoke, she found herself in a ruined corridor. Beyond the corridor lay more wreckage, the entire Flying Ship stripped of its outer hull and exposed to the elements.
I’m still alive…
Just as Song Feiyu marveled at her miraculous survival, she noticed the person beside her had gone limp.
“Gu Yi?” she called softly, but there was no response. A sudden panic gripped her.
She reached out, but both of them were trapped in this small space by the ship’s wreckage. Gu Yi, in particular, was pinned by a massive metal fragment crushing her left shoulder.
Song Feiyu, fortunate enough to have escaped being pinned, struggled free. She stared at the massive piece of wreckage, unsure what to do.
She could only extend her hands and grip it tightly.
The bandaged wound reopened, bl00d seeping through the fabric. Song Feiyu couldn’t worry about that now; she pulled with all her might, dragging the wreckage upward.
Sand and debris pelted Gu Yi’s face, but she showed no reaction.
With a final surge of strength, Song Feiyu hurled the wreckage away. The Empire’s citizens truly possessed remarkable physical resilience.
This was precisely why they could wage war against the Zerg.
The wreckage crashed to the ground with a thunderous boom.
“Gu Yi!”
Having thrown the wreckage aside, Song Feiyu immediately rushed to her side.
But Gu Yi remained unconscious. Song Feiyu cradled her in her arms, staring blankly at their surroundings.
The Flying Ship had crashed on a desert planet, its surface covered in endless yellow sand. It was impossible to tell if there was any water.
Yet the fact that neither of them had suffocated proved one thing: the planet’s atmosphere contained no toxic gases and was breathable.
Song Feiyu gently rubbed her cheek against Gu Yi’s face.
“Don’t scare me like this…”
Tears streamed down her face. Song Feiyu had faced death countless times in her life, but this was the first time she felt the helplessness of watching life slip away.
Her fingertips trembled as she pressed against Gu Yi’s pulse. When she felt a faint rhythm, excitement surged through her.
Song Feiyu found a relatively flat piece of wreckage, removed her coat, and spread it over the surface. She helped Gu Yi lie down and then began scavenging for supplies within the wreckage of the Flying Ship.
Despite the devastation, Song Feiyu managed to salvage a considerable amount of supplies. Unfortunately, without proper storage, the frozen meat had thawed, and some had even rotted, filling the air with a nauseating stench.
Her primary focus was on medicine, but most of the vials had shattered during the crash, leaving only a few intact. Still, these were enough.
After securing the medicine, Song Feiyu hurried back to Gu Yi and began bandaging her wounds.
The Flying Ship carried emergency medical supplies, including injections that could rapidly stabilize life-threatening conditions regardless of the injury. Song Feiyu found a green syringe and administered the injection to Gu Yi.
Seeing Gu Yi’s furrowed brow, Song Feiyu knew she could still feel pain, and a wave of relief washed over her.
Song Feiyu continued searching through the supplies.
She found some frozen meat that hadn’t completely thawed and set it aside, then unearthed some vegetables that had been smashed to a pulp.
Carrying the salvageable weapons and supplies, she returned to the camp.
Having found only a limited amount of water, Song Feiyu washed the vegetables first, then the meat, being as frugal as possible.
The Empire’s technology was so advanced that most citizens had forgotten how to cook. Those who wanted a home-cooked meal simply bought a cooking robot.
Song Feiyu’s culinary skills weren’t particularly refined, but her wilderness survival training had taught her the basics.
At least Gu Yi seemed to enjoy the pan-fried fish and meat she prepared.
Song Feiyu chopped the meat into small pieces. Lacking oil, she first selected a few fatty pieces and rendered their fat.
After briefly stir-frying the meat, she added water to make a stew. She sliced the vegetables and tossed them into the boiling water.
Soon, a faint aroma of cooked vegetables filled the air.
Gu Yi woke up, drawn by the scent. When she opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was the vast starry sky, littered with the wreckage of the Flying Ship.
“Song Feiyu…”
Gu Yi tentatively called out, her voice raspy and hoarse.
“You’re awake.”
Song Feiyu immediately approached, carrying a bowl of hot soup in her hands. She gently blew on it.
The rising steam softened her features, making her eyes seem even gentler.
“Where are we?” Gu Yi asked, every inch of her body aching. She looked up at Song Feiyu, who was also covered in injuries, barely better off than herself.
“I don’t know. The Flying Ship crashed. I think this must be an undeveloped planet.”
Song Feiyu glanced around at the yellow sand stretching in every direction, understanding why it hadn’t been developed despite being within the Empire’s territory. The resources here were likely too scarce.
“Eat this first, or you’ll faint again.”
Song Feiyu held the hot soup up to Gu Yi’s lips. The bowl she’d hastily found had a crack along the rim. She blew on the steam, turned the cracked side toward herself, and offered the intact edge to Gu Yi.
“What is this?” Gu Yi stared at the pale, greenish broth, her appetite waning at the unappetizing appearance.
“Stew. We don’t have proper ingredients or equipment right now, so it’s not very tasty.” Song Feiyu smiled, her voice gentle and coaxing. “I’ll make you something better when we get back. Just eat this for now.”
