The Top Omega Girlfriend of a Useless Alpha - Chapter 35
After being deceived earlier, Gu Yi insisted on walking back herself. Song Feiyu didn’t press the issue, trailing behind her with two bottles of water.
Gu Yi had initially offered to help carry the water, but Song Feiyu gave her a thorough once-over, her gaze lingering on Gu Yi’s injured shoulder. Instead, she handed Gu Yi the wild berries she had just gathered, wrapped in a white cloth.
“Take these. We don’t want to aggravate your injury.”
Gu Yi hesitated, but she knew making her condition worse would only hinder her recovery. The best course of action was to heal quickly so she could assist Song Feiyu.
Gu Yi examined the vibrant red berries, holding them to her nose to sniff. She couldn’t identify them; after all, they were from an alien planet. As long as they were edible, she wasn’t too particular.
Fortunately, citizens of the Empire possessed remarkably robust stomachs. Otherwise, if the two of them had been stranded on this alien world with nothing to eat, they would have been in dire straits.
However, upon returning to their shelter, they immediately sensed something was amiss. Song Feiyu had strung a white line around the perimeter to prevent intruders from breaching their sanctuary.
If alien creatures were to intrude, the two could detect them in advance, preventing any helpless ambushes.
But now, the white line was broken.
“Something’s here,” Gu Yi said, tightening her grip on her laser gun. Most of the weapons she’d found were damaged, leaving only one or two functional ones with limited energy.
Naturally, she was tense.
Song Feiyu also gripped her laser gun. Just as the situation reached its critical point, a tall man emerged from the shelter.
He was covered in injuries from head to toe.
Seeing the two women, he was first surprised, then overjoyed. He hadn’t expected any other survivors on the flying ship.
Song Feiyu scrutinized the man’s uniform. It was likely from the same flying ship, meaning he was one of Minister Curry’s subordinates.
Though his uniform was simple, Song Feiyu recognized it instantly: it was the uniform of logistics personnel.
“Thank goodness! There are others alive! I thought I was the only survivor!”
The man approached excitedly, his gaze dropping to the water and fruit the women carried.
He pressed his parched lips together, his mouth watering uncontrollably, and his stomach began to rumble loudly.
Gu Yi instinctively stepped behind Song Feiyu, overwhelmed by the man’s overpowering pheromone scent.
It was acrid, bitter, and utterly unpleasant.
Other civilizations in the galaxy often misunderstood the Empire’s people, believing their pheromones were universally sweet and fragrant.
They envied the Empire’s citizens, seeing it as having built-in perfume with adjustable intensity.
But only the Empire’s people knew the truth: most Alpha pheromones were harsh and foul-smelling.
Only Omegas almost universally possessed sweet, soft, and fragrant scents. Even Gu Yi’s Jasmine Scent was considered rare.
Song Feiyu stared at the man.
After a moment’s hesitation, she holstered her Laser Gun.
“Are you very hungry?” Song Feiyu asked cautiously.
The man nodded eagerly.
“Perfect. I found some bread earlier. We can share it.”
Song Feiyu remained patient with the Empire’s people, willing to wait for rescue alongside this man as long as he didn’t harbor any ulterior motives.
“Really? I’m starving! I was about to start gnawing on the metal plates.”
The man looked at Song Feiyu with desperate anticipation, eager for her to produce the bread.
The temperature continued to drop throughout the night. Song Feiyu lit a campfire, burning the scraps of the dining table she had found earlier and the dry branches she had gathered from the desert.
The warm firelight bathed them, finally warding off the biting cold.
Gu Yi leaned heavily against Song Feiyu, constantly affected by the Alpha’s pheromones. She needed the faint lavender scent emanating from Song Feiyu to maintain her composure, lest she be easily triggered into Heat.
Song Feiyu mashed the fruits she had gathered that day, added the sugar cubes she had found, and simmered the mixture briefly before spreading it on the toasted bread.
Two slices of bread each, the fruit jam made for a perfect meal.
“Yours,” Song Feiyu said, handing a slice to the man.
“Thank you,” he replied with a smile, accepting the bread and devouring it in large bites, finishing it in no time.
Song Feiyu, on the other hand, ate slowly and methodically. Even in this dire situation, she remained calm and composed, as if she were still the Honorary Captain sitting at her desk on the flagship.
Noticing the unease beside her, Song Feiyu turned her head and tightened her grip on Gu Yi’s wrist.
“Don’t be afraid. I’m here.”
Gu Yi clung to Song Feiyu’s arm, pressing her crimson lips close to Song Feiyu’s ear as she whispered, “His pheromones are affecting me. Song Feiyu, let’s go back to the Shelter, okay? I hate this man.”
Song Feiyu glanced at the man, who, despite knowing Gu Yi was an Omega, made no effort to restrain himself.
There was a hidden motive behind his behavior.
She recalled an incident from the half-month campaign to eradicate the Interstellar Pirates. One day, feeling hungry, she had gone to the mess hall early.
She overheard a group of people discussing Gu Yi.
“If you ask me, Song Feiyu just got lucky. If she hadn’t marked Gu Yi, she’d never have become Captain.”
“Exactly! If only I had her luck—finding a wild, unruly Omega, forcibly marking her. Even if she didn’t like me, she’d still be influenced by my pheromones.”
“Hahaha, you’re right! It’s such a waste that Third Miss Gu, such a beauty, was claimed by that inferior Alpha.”
“My pheromone rating is A+. If I ever meet Third Miss Gu, I’ll kindly help her erase that inferior Alpha’s mark.”
Song Feiyu sat silently at a nearby table, slowly finishing her meal.
At the time, she hadn’t cared or bothered with their words, knowing they were all talk and no action.
Just venting their frustrations.
But now, with a little ruthlessness, they could ambush and kill her, then forcibly mark Gu Yi.
This wave of heavenly fortune might very well fall upon him.
Clearly, many Alphas dreamed of becoming top-tier kept Alphas.
Song Feiyu stood up.
“What do you want?”
The man asked curiously, but Song Feiyu ignored him, leading Gu Yi back to the Shelter.
She cast one last glance at the man before slamming the Shelter’s iron door shut.
“Hey! I’ll freeze to death out here alone!”
The man immediately chased after them, pounding frantically on the iron door.
“You know my partner is an Omega. It’s not convenient for us to have you here,” Song Feiyu said through the door, her voice icy and unwavering even in the biting wind.
“Go sleep on the Flying Ship. It’s just wreckage, but it’ll offer some protection from the cold.”
With that, Song Feiyu locked the door. The lock was homemade—just two small iron rings hooked together. But without considerable strength, it was impossible to pry open, as Song Feiyu had been reinforcing the Shelter daily.
“In this life-or-death situation, you’re all so heartless?” The man’s voice turned cold as he began to question Song Feiyu.
“Yes,” Song Feiyu admitted bluntly.
Frowning at the thick pheromone scent permeating the Shelter, she realized the man had indeed harbored ill intentions. Releasing such a potent pheromone scent within the Shelter was a clear sign of his ulterior motives.
