The Top Omega Girlfriend of a Useless Alpha - Chapter 36
Song Feiyu took a deep breath. Although she lacked the ability to mark, releasing pheromones was no problem for her—they were just fainter.
A delicate lavender scent poured forth, gradually cleansing the room of its unpleasant odor.
Seeing Gu Yi’s complexion worsen, Song Feiyu reached out and embraced her.
“Feeling any better?” she asked gently, while also keeping an ear out for any movement outside. When she heard no further sounds, she assumed the intruder had left and finally relaxed.
“Still feeling awful,” Gu Yi said, looking up at Song Feiyu. She dropped the pretense and wrapped her arms around Song Feiyu’s neck. “What about the Artificial Pheromone? Do you have any left?”
Song Feiyu shook her head regretfully. The supply had been limited to begin with, and two days had already passed.
“It’s all gone. You’ll have to endure it for now.”
With that, she leaned closer to Gu Yi.
Outside, a fierce wind howled, while inside, the air was filled with the sweet scents of lavender and jasmine.
Song Feiyu was incredibly gentle. When Gu Yi couldn’t keep up, she slowed her breathing and waited patiently.
Though she couldn’t mark Gu Yi, she could give her everything else.
Gu Yi’s lips were surprisingly soft, a stark contrast to her stubborn personality.
Song Feiyu claimed them bit by bit.
Until the storm subsided, and yellow sand blanketed the Shelter.
Gu Yi woke to a delicate fragrance. A faint aroma of cooked food drifted in from outside—Song Feiyu had actually prepared a rare wood-fired meal today.
She sat up, feeling a slight soreness throughout her body.
Thankfully, she had bathed the previous day, leaving her feeling much fresher than the grimy state she’d been in the day before.
Due to the injury on Gu Yi’s shoulder, Song Feiyu hadn’t pushed things too far. She had simply comforted Gu Yi before they both drifted off to sleep.
The shelter’s cotton bedding was far more comfortable than the hard wooden planks they’d been sleeping on previously, allowing Gu Yi to sink into a deep, restful slumber.
Song Feiyu entered the shelter.
“Gu Yi, I have good news.”
A radiant smile lit up her face. Seeing her so cheerful, Gu Yi assumed she had found something useful again and was about to ask when Song Feiyu suddenly leaned in and planted an enthusiastic kiss on her cheek.
“I’ve detected traces of the Flying Ship’s wormhole transit. Now all I need to do is fire a signal flare, and they’ll be able to sense it.”
Song Feiyu gently patted Gu Yi’s back.
“We can finally go home.”
Gu Yi’s still-drowsy mind snapped awake.
“Really? That’s wonderful!”
She would finally escape this life that felt no different from being a spacefaring vagrant.
But just as they finished speaking, a strong scent of pheromones filled the air.
Song Feiyu’s expression darkened.
It was clear the man had ulterior motives. She glanced at Gu Yi and retrieved the laser guns hanging on the shelter wall.
“I’ll go check it out. Stay here—you’ll be affected by the pheromones if you go out.”
Though Gu Yi could briefly resist Alpha pheromones, prolonged exposure would inevitably trigger adverse physical reactions. Song Feiyu didn’t want that to happen.
Gu Yi nodded, her gaze lingering on the laser gun in Song Feiyu’s hand.
As Song Feiyu closed the shelter door, the man emerged, a laser gun in his own hand. He must have scavenged it from the wreckage of the Flying Ship.
“We’re all Alphas here. No need to pretend anymore.”
The man raised his laser gun, his demeanor completely transformed from yesterday’s obsequious manner.
“I’m going to mark Miss Gu.”
A sinister glint flashed in his eyes as he fantasized about the fame and fortune he would gain as the Gu Family’s son-in-law.
Song Feiyu pressed her lips into a thin line. She raised her own laser gun and began charging the weapon.
“You’re just a low-grade Alpha. If you had any sense, you’d realize I’m far more suitable for—”
Before he could finish, Song Feiyu fired. A white laser beam sliced through the air, striking the man squarely in the chest.
He had anticipated this, chuckling softly as he revealed his bulletproof vest.
Then, he raised his Laser Cannon, aiming it at Song Feiyu.
Unfazed, Song Feiyu waited until the man pulled the trigger. In that instant, she moved with lightning speed, narrowly dodging the attack.
Years on the battlefield had honed her dynamic vision to near-superhuman levels. While fighting the Zerg required considerable effort, dealing with these petty soldiers was child’s play.
Song Feiyu closed the distance, aiming her Laser Cannon at the man’s forehead. But as the white arc of energy flashed, the laser was deflected.
Surprised, Song Feiyu realized the man had likely looted some valuable equipment from the Flying Ship the previous night.
It wasn’t surprising, given his position in the logistics department. He would know the storage locations of such gear far better than she did.
This was the Empire’s latest stealth bulletproof suit, capable of enveloping the entire body in a protective energy shield to prevent accidental injuries from laser blasts and shrapnel.
But…
Song Feiyu knew this man had a fatal weakness: his high-tech defenses were useless against primitive technology.
She slammed the butt of her rifle into his face. Stunned, the man’s head snapped to the side.
“How did you know?”
He tried to raise his Laser Gun to retaliate, but at such close range, he didn’t even have time to aim.
Another rifle butt slammed into him.
“You can’t kill me!”
As the man crashed to the ground, he let out a desperate shout.
Song Feiyu watched him coldly.
“You think I’d listen to you?”
With that, she picked up a piece of metal debris from the Flying Ship and brought it down in a single, decisive strike.
A faint smear of bl00d stained her cheek.
Song Feiyu casually wiped it away before retrieving a signal flare from her waist.
She fired it into the vast, open sky of the alien planet, sending a massive crimson burst that echoed across the heavens.
The light expanded in concentric rings, like ripples spreading across a lake.
Song Feiyu cast one last glance down at her opponent, her eyes filled with an unreadable emotion.
“You thought because I’m a ‘low-grade’ Alpha, my physical abilities would be inferior to yours…”
“You were wrong. I may not have been born with innate talent, but every skill I possess is one I forged myself.”
The speed with which she had dodged the Laser Cannon’s blast was something few could achieve, even among top-tier Alphas, let alone those deemed “low-grade.”
Song Feiyu’s effortless execution stemmed from years of combat against the Zerg.
The Zerg’s claws were razor-sharp; a single moment of hesitation could mean the difference between life and death.
Song Feiyu had survived this long through sheer skill, with not a shred of luck to her name.
Gu Yi felt the nauseating pheromone dissipate instantly, allowing her to breathe freely again. She immediately bolted out of the shelter.
Before she could even make out Song Feiyu’s face, her bare feet sank into the soft sand.
Like a rabbit, she leaped into Song Feiyu’s arms.
“Are you okay? Are you hurt?” Gu Yi asked anxiously. Only then did she notice the bloodstains dotting Song Feiyu’s newly changed, clean clothes—like winter plums against the snow.
But the bl00d wasn’t hers.
“I’m fine. I’ve already fired a signal flare. The Flying Ships should detect its signal soon.”
Song Feiyu held Gu Yi close, resting her chin lightly on her shoulder. She inhaled deeply, savoring the rich jasmine scent, feeling almost intoxicated.
Her fingers gently patted Gu Yi’s back.
“Gu Yi, we can go home now.”
