The Top Omega Girlfriend of a Useless Alpha - Chapter 4
If Song Feiyu were to mark her now, her disguise would be completely exposed. Gu Yi bit her lip and shook her head in refusal.
“I don’t need it.”
Her fingers traced the scarred nape of Song Feiyu’s neck, concealing the ache in her heart as she tore off another pheromone patch and applied it.
The patch featured a small rabbit design on the back. Though technically an Omega-specific patch, Song Feiyu’s pheromones were so faint that even ordinary tape could probably block them. Gu Yi didn’t bother with specialized products.
Gu Yi’s hidden motives remained unknown to Song Feiyu, who simply assumed she was weak from her Heat. She sat obediently, allowing Gu Yi to lean against her.
The incident occurred early in the morning. After escorting Gu Yi back to her dormitory the previous night, Song Feiyu had collapsed onto her soft pillow.
She also remembered to text her mother, reporting that she had endured a full day with her blind date.
The next morning, Song Feiyu squinted at a text message from her mother:
Daughter, Mom’s cheering you on!
The message included a GIF of a rabbit waving a glow stick. Song Feiyu smiled.
She had long resigned herself to a solitary life, but her mother insisted she keep trying.
So every year, Song Feiyu poured hundreds of thousands of credits into matchmaking services, despite the slim chances of success. She felt obligated to try.
After all, in this training base, romantic prospects were scarce.
The base’s breakfast cafeteria offered a lavish spread of delicacies from various planets.
For example, the seaweed noodles from Cyanobacteria Star featured soft, sticky seaweed that clung to the palate like glutinous rice.
Song Feiyu disliked such elaborate dishes. She grabbed a soft roll and dipped it in blueberry jam.
“What’s that smell?”
As she sat down, the Flight Instructor beside her sniffed the air dramatically, his expression comical.
“I can smell Omega pheromones!”
He continued sniffing, following the scent trail until he stood beside Song Feiyu.
Song Feiyu glanced up, studying him with puzzled eyes.
“What are you sniffing at me for? I’m not an Omega.”
Though she was a useless Alpha, her secondary gender hadn’t changed.
“But this isn’t your pheromone. It’s Jasmine Scent—so delicate, so sweet~”
The other woman stroked her chin, golden strands of hair peeking out from beneath the Instructor’s black cap as she scrutinized Song Feiyu.
“Song Feiyu, have you been sneaking out to find Omegas behind our backs?”
The others turned to look, their expressions a mix of curiosity and suspicion.
So this useless Alpha, despite having lost her marking ability, still hasn’t given up on her desires? Well, she’s still an Alpha after all. Every Alpha has a biological need for Omegas.
Hearing this, Song Feiyu chuckled, nearly choking on her mouthful of bread.
She pictured Gu Yi’s cold, aloof face paired with pheromones that smelled exactly like an Omega’s.
No wonder other Omegas look down on her, driving her to seek companionship with Alphas.
Seeing Song Feiyu’s amusement, the others grew even more convinced.
“See? I told you she’d been sneaking out!”
Xi Fei draped her right arm over Song Feiyu’s shoulder, asking with feigned curiosity, “Where did you find her? Maybe you could introduce us next time?”
But the next moment, a piercing pain shot through Xi Fei’s wrist. She assumed Song Feiyu had retaliated.
Xi Fei gasped, “Seriously, Song Feiyu? You’re being so petty! I only said a few words!”
“Don’t touch her.”
A voice as cold as ice cut through the air from beside them. Xi Fei finally realized it wasn’t Song Feiyu gripping her wrist, but Gu Yi.
Gu Yi’s eyes blazed with ferocity, her dark gaze so cold it could kill.
“Gu… Instructor Gu,” Xi Fei stammered, surprised but still pleading, “Let go of me first.”
Gu Yi waited a moment before releasing her grip, then sat down beside Song Feiyu.
“Who told you jasmine pheromones could be defined as weak?”
The others fell silent, exchanging confused glances.
But one person quickly realized the truth, whispering, “Instructor Gu’s pheromones… they’re Jasmine Scent…”
Everyone: !
They’d stumbled upon a major revelation. Their gazes shifted to Song Feiyu, their eyes sweeping her up and down with suggestive curiosity.
Song Feiyu couldn’t be bothered to care. These people thrived on gossip, but unless she revealed anything, they’d never know the truth.
She and Gu Yi hadn’t even taken the first step yet. If their blind date fell through, she’d never live down the ridicule.
After the awkward incident, no one could finish their breakfast properly. They quickly polished off their meals and scattered.
Only Song Feiyu and Gu Yi remained, still leisurely enjoying their meal.
“Try this,” Song Feiyu said, handing Gu Yi a small roll slathered in blueberry jam. “This soft bread is best with jam.”
Gu Yi didn’t reach out to take it. Instead, she leaned down and bit the bread directly from Song Feiyu’s hand.
Perhaps their lips brushed against Song Feiyu’s fingers during the bite. A fleeting, unreadable emotion flickered in her eyes. Her fingertips twitched slightly as she suppressed the impulse to linger.
Song Feiyu wasn’t the type of Alpha who strictly adhered to traditional roles. On the contrary, she appreciated the curves of women, regardless of whether they were Betas, Alphas, or Omegas.
As long as they were female, Song Feiyu was willing to give it a try. But the result was always the same: she didn’t discriminate against others, but others discriminated against her.
Only Gu Yi, drawn by their pheromonal compatibility, had chosen to be with her.
Since she had such a rare opportunity, she naturally wanted to cherish it.
As soon as the others left, Song Feiyu began showering Gu Yi with attention.
“Delicious,” Gu Yi murmured, chewing the bread thoughtfully.
After finishing their meal, they prepared to head to the training base. A few days earlier, orders had come down to prepare for wilderness survival training.
For the past few days, Song Feiyu had been busy organizing equipment. Today’s lesson would focus on how to fight enemies if cadets crashed in dangerous territory.
Despite their advanced technology, including mechanical battle armor and laser cannons, close-quarters combat remained an indispensable skill.
Song Feiyu, clad in a dark black T-shirt and a sun hat, patrolled the training grounds, observing the trainees.
The trainees were paired up, practicing with daggers or bare hands.
Unfortunately, the sparring matches between these novices offered little to admire.
Song Feiyu shook her head in disappointment. But this was the nature of training newcomers—transforming them from complete novices into competent fighters with a solid grasp of basic combat skills.
She considered finding a sparring partner to demonstrate techniques, but this year’s recruits seemed particularly lacking in aptitude. Even the two tall, muscular Alphas she selected were easily knocked to the ground with a single kick.
Her gaze then fell on Gu Yi, standing nearby.
Right, Instructor Gu! Song Feiyu thought. Just a quick demonstration will do.
Seeing how effortlessly Gu Yi had gripped Xi Fei’s wrist earlier, she figured the instructor must possess considerable strength.
Having made up her mind, Song Feiyu hurried over to ask.
“Are you sure about this?” Gu Yi asked, standing in the sunlight. Today, she wore only a sun hat, not her official instructor’s cap, making her appear slightly shorter than Song Feiyu.
“Don’t worry, I’ll hold back,” Song Feiyu assured her, nodding. “I just want the trainees to clearly see the sequence of attacks and defensive techniques.”
