The Top Omega Girlfriend of a Useless Alpha - Chapter 42
In Song Feiyu’s eyes, these men were no different from the Zerg. She had her own bottom line, and once crossed, she wouldn’t hesitate to retaliate like a rabid dog.
Having weathered several major battles, Song Feiyu far outmatched these pampered Alphas.
Yet their elite Alpha talents were undeniable, making victory a grueling struggle.
Bl00d stained her tie, and her vision blurred.
But she fought with increasing ferocity.
Only when both men lay sprawled on the floor did Song Feiyu stagger to her feet. Her right eye was bloodshot, obscuring her vision.
“Are you okay?”
Song Feiyu stumbled into the restroom, but Gu Yi didn’t respond. The purple glasses clattered to the floor with a sharp, ringing sound.
It was clear: Gu Yi had fainted from the overwhelming surge of two Alpha pheromones.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry…”
Song Feiyu cradled Gu Yi in her arms, her own carelessness weighing heavily on her.
She knew someone wanted Gu Yi dead, yet she had let her go out alone.
The faint scent of lavender enveloped Gu Yi. Song Feiyu’s vision in one eye had blurred, leaving her seeing only crimson bl00d.
She lifted Gu Yi, supporting her knees with one arm and her back with the other.
Only then did she glance at her reflection in the restroom mirror. Her bloodshot eye was swollen, and her mouth and nose were bruised—a truly unsightly sight.
The pheromone’s influence had spread too far, affecting others nearby. Pervy hastily ordered his subordinates to investigate.
Meanwhile, he led the Imperial Guard to apprehend the two Alphas collapsed on the ground.
“Your Highness, there’s someone still inside!” a guard shouted. Pervy covered his nose, his mind racing. Another Omega forcibly marked, no doubt. I must suppress this scandal immediately.
Otherwise, the Empire’s public support will plummet.
Just as he thought this, a faint jasmine scent drifted into his nostrils. Pervy’s eyes widened.
Impossible…
Impossible!
He shook his head, refusing to imagine who it could be. His heart began to tremble, and his fingers started to twitch uncontrollably.
“Call the rescue team,” he ordered.
Just as Pervy was reeling from the shock, a figure emerged from the shattered doorway, clutching Gu Yi tightly. Her voice was hoarse.
Her long, curly hair was matted with bloodstains, the strands sticking together in clumps.
“Song Yin…” Pervy exclaimed, his surprise deepening.
“Your Highness, I think you need to strengthen your security,” Song Feiyu said, tightening her grip on the person in her arms. The faint scent of lavender wafted from her, too diluted to pose any threat to the Alphas who had rushed to the scene.
“Weren’t you supposed to be a useless Alpha now…?” Pervy stared in disbelief at the two men sprawled on the ground. He recognized them both—they had consistently ranked among the top Alphas in physical fitness tests.
“Yes, I am. But they’re not even half as formidable as the Zerg,” Song Feiyu remarked, her still-intact eye sweeping over the group. She added with a hint of warning, “Second Prince Your Highness, your defenses are already riddled with holes.”
Gu Yi woke up in the hospital. She had only been discharged a few days ago, and now she was back.
She sighed softly, the throbbing in her head having subsided considerably.
The acrid hospital odors were gone, replaced by the faint, soothing scent of lavender, as if she were sleeping in a field of lavender blossoms.
Gu Yi turned her head slightly and saw Song Feiyu.
Her profile remained as striking as ever, resembling that of a refined scholar. But those who knew her well understood that she was no mere scholar; she was a commander whose combat style was ferociously aggressive.
Song Feiyu’s left eye was bandaged, with pale yellow medicinal powder seeping through the gauze. The injury must have been severe, judging by the potent medication.
“You’re awake?” Song Feiyu’s voice was gentle. She was peeling an apple with a small knife, the peel coming off in a perfect, unbroken spiral, as if cut by a machine.
The entire peel landed in the trash bin. Song Feiyu then sliced the apple into bite-sized pieces and offered them to Gu Yi.
Gu Yi instinctively opened her mouth and took a bite. The apple was soft and incredibly sweet.
Perhaps it’s just my mood, she thought.
Seeing Gu Yi enjoyed it, Song Feiyu offered her another piece.
Only then did Gu Yi notice the small bandage on Song Feiyu’s finger, so inconspicuous she hadn’t noticed it before.
“What happened to your hand?” Gu Yi asked.
She remembered waking up briefly the night before. Song Feiyu had only suffered a facial injury; there were no cuts on her hands.
“It’s nothing. I accidentally sliced my finger while cooking.”
With limited vision in one eye, Song Feiyu leaned closer to Gu Yi, lowering her gaze and letting her curled hair fall forward.
“Gu Yi, am I really so useless? I can never protect you properly…” Her voice carried deep self-reproach.
“No, this isn’t your fault.”
“Even a tiger would struggle to escape a trap.” Gu Yi straightened slightly, cupping Song Feiyu’s cheeks and soothing her with a gentle voice.
“This has nothing to do with you.”
“I was careless myself. I should have asked you to come with me.”
Song Feiyu wrapped her arms around Gu Yi, her eyes clearing as she opened them.
“I’ll be more careful next time.”
“I’ll protect you properly.”
It sounded like a vow.
As they were talking, Song Feiyu’s terminal chimed with a notification.
“Who’s messaging you?” Gu Yi asked, still clinging to her and reluctant to let go. She still needed the calming scent of lavender.
Song Feiyu let her hold on, reaching out to tap her terminal despite the awkwardness. She didn’t mind; she wanted to.
There was no help for it—she was her Omega.
“My mom.”
Song Feiyu glanced at the screen, her expression subtly shifting.
“What’s wrong?” Gu Yi sensed something amiss and leaned closer to look. Her cheek brushed against Song Feiyu’s, the faint warmth making the other woman’s heart race.
“Auntie wants to see you…”
Gu Yi paused, guessing that Song Feiyu’s mother must have heard about her injury and was rushing over in a panic.
“Yeah, a lot has happened these past few days. It’s natural for my mom to worry,” Song Feiyu explained with a smile. “But I bet the main reason is that she wants to meet you.”
Gu Yi’s face flushed crimson under Song Feiyu’s gaze. She lowered her head, feeling embarrassed.
“What’s so interesting about me?”
“You’re a little beauty.”
Song Feiyu couldn’t resist pinching Gu Yi’s cheek.
“Don’t worry, my mom is really nice. We’ll move out of the Gu Family for a few days and stay somewhere else. That way, we won’t have to worry about things being awkward if your dad and my mom meet.”
Song Feiyu had already thought everything through in an instant.
Gu Yi’s family situation was somewhat complicated. If Song Feiyu’s mother stayed at the Gu Family residence, it would undoubtedly make Gu Yi feel awkward.
After all, her relationships with her father and elder sister were quite delicate.
“That’s a good idea,” Gu Yi said, nodding in agreement.
“My mother left me a property in the western district of the Empire. Let’s move there first.”
