The Top Omega Girlfriend of a Useless Alpha - Chapter 46
Madam Song stayed only a few days before departing. She wasn’t one to idle; she had her late husband’s business empire to manage. Only her daughter, Song Feiyu, remained a source of concern.
Song Feiyu and Gu Yi returned to the airport to see her off.
Though their time together had been brief—just two or three days—Gu Yi and Madam Song had grown quite close. No sooner had Madam Song left than Pervy’s official employment notice arrived.
Song Feiyu was transferred from the Gu Family’s Fleet to one under Pervy’s command. After years away from such a role, she once again became the Captain of a Fleet.
Her newly issued Captain’s uniform was quickly replaced by the more opulent attire of a Fleet Captain.
The deep black uniform featured gilded buttons, each engraved with a sunflower. She donned her cap, knowing today was her first day on the job.
I need to make a proper impression.
Gu Yi, ever adaptable, chose a clerical position near Song Feiyu and accompanied her.
When they arrived at the training grounds, the area was already filled with personnel—Song Feiyu’s new colleagues. Yet their gazes didn’t linger on her.
Instead, their gazes converged on Gu Yi, like a pack of wolves eyeing their prey.
Song Feiyu frowned slightly and silently positioned herself in front of Gu Yi, as if declaring her claim.
The others averted their eyes. Everyone had their pride; though they might secretly covet another’s Omega, they could only indulge in such thoughts privately.
Miss Gu of the Gu Family was not someone to be trifled with.
After briefly reviewing the fleet under her command, Song Feiyu returned to her office.
The fleet base was vast, and even a cursory inspection left her legs aching and her feet sore.
If Gu Yi hadn’t gained some combat experience with the Flying Fleet in her younger years, she would have collapsed from exhaustion long ago.
Even now, she wasn’t much better off. The moment she stepped into the office, she kicked off her shoes.
These bulky, airless shoes were purely for aesthetics, meant to uphold the Empire’s military image.
“Tired?” Song Feiyu asked, her eyes brimming with amusement as she approached Gu Yi step by step.
“I’ve realized these thick, cumbersome formal dresses are utterly useless except for looking pretty.”
Song Feiyu tugged at her uniform, which was even heavier than the instructor’s uniform, making it quite uncomfortable to wear.
“Exactly, it looks good.”
Song Feiyu leaned closer, bracing her hands on Gu Yi’s chest. The faint lavender scent drifted between them as Gu Yi looked up at her.
Understanding Song Feiyu’s intentions, Gu Yi reached out to hook her arm around Song Feiyu’s neck, glancing pointedly at the captain’s desk.
“Captain, are you sure you want to fool around with your little secretary on your first day of work?”
Her voice was teasing, her tone rising with a hint of provocation.
The jasmine scent wafted through the air as Song Feiyu inhaled deeply, nuzzling her nose against Gu Yi’s neck like a puppy reluctant to leave its master.
“Why not?” Song Feiyu said with a smile, pressing her lips against Gu Yi’s neck.
Just as she was about to deepen the kiss…
A knock echoed from outside the door.
Song Feiyu lifted her head slightly, a flicker of annoyance crossing her eyes for the first time today. After a morning of relentless work, she had finally found a moment to embrace her jasmine flower, only to be interrupted with a sharp, abrupt knock.
“Someone’s here for you. Go answer the door.”
Gu Yi paused, tilted her head, and glanced at the cabin door, showing no regard for her duties as the Captain’s secretary.
“Perfect timing…”
Song Feiyu reluctantly broke off their kiss, straightened her clothes, and pressed the door release.
The cabin door slid open, and a woman in a black uniform entered, clutching a stack of documents.
“Instructor!”
Her voice was crisp and clear, but Liu Zhuochen had only taken a few steps into the room when she sensed something was off. Beyond the lavender scent, there was a much stronger aroma.
Jasmine!
“My apologies, my pheromones are leaking a bit,” Song Feiyu said calmly, retrieving a pheromone-blocking spray from her sleeve and spritzing it toward the woman.
Liu Zhuochen finally felt some relief.
Yet her eyes remained clouded. Instructor Song’s pheromones weren’t jasmine-scented at all; they should have been a faint lavender.
Noticing the woman standing motionless, Song Feiyu finally looked up at her face, then gasped in surprise.
“Zhuochen?”
Hearing her name, Liu Zhuochen immediately lifted her head, a faint smile playing on her lips.
“Instructor Song, you remember me.”
Liu Zhuochen was Song Feiyu’s best student. She had graduated with honors in less than two years at the base and unexpectedly risen to a position in the Imperial Capital.
Song Feiyu had once pulled strings and asked her mentors to find Liu Zhuochen a good job.
She never imagined she would end up here.
“With your outstanding grades, how could I forget you?” Song Feiyu smiled.
Liu Zhuochen set down the files, recalling the rumors she had heard on her way here. Her gaze drifted to Gu Yi, who was still leisurely tidying her clothes nearby.
“Instructor, are you really with Miss Gu?”
A brief silence hung in the air as the question was asked. Song Feiyu glanced up at her and nodded.
“As you can see, it’s true.”
“But your…”
Liu Zhuochen clearly wanted to say more, but Song Feiyu’s sharp look silenced her.
“This is my choice. I don’t want to hear anyone else’s opinions.”
“Very well,” Liu Zhuochen said, her eyes still burning with resentment as she glanced at Gu Yi before leaving.
It was as if Gu Yi were the demon who had lured her into the abyss.
Only after Liu Zhuochen had left did Gu Yi approach.
“Why does she look at me so fiercely?”
Song Feiyu had already disassembled her fountain pen and was refilling it with ink. Captains always maintained a certain formality, even signing documents with ancient fountain pens.
“She thinks you’ve bewitched me,” Song Feiyu said, flipping through the first document. These were classified files, providing a brief overview of each Flying Ship’s purpose.
Having been away from her captaincy for so long, Song Feiyu found the rapid technological advancements almost incomprehensible. She studied the documents for quite some time.
“Why would she think that? After all, everyone believes you’re the one who got the better end of the deal.”
Gu Yi crossed her arms, her pride wounded. She couldn’t understand what she lacked.
“My glands are damaged. Logically, I shouldn’t be affected by such things.”
“Unless I volunteer.”
Song Feiyu skimmed the documents, memorizing them instantly.
Without looking at them again, she turned to Gu Yi, patiently explaining her doubts.
“Is that how it is? But you’ve been failing at blind dates. Why didn’t she show up and offer to introduce you to an Omega or something?”
Gu Yi lowered her head, her fox-like eyes fixed on Song Feiyu, searching for hidden flaws in her words.
“I wouldn’t know,” Song Feiyu replied. She genuinely couldn’t understand, but she had always been passive in matters of the heart, never actively pursuing such matters.
Even with her most prized student, she remained the same.
“I get the feeling she treats you differently,” Gu Yi said, her gaze fixed on Song Feiyu’s slender fingers as they flipped through the documents.
Remembering her own aching calves, she decisively ordered, “Song Feiyu, my legs are sore.”
