The Top Omega Girlfriend of a Useless Alpha - Chapter 5
“There’s no need for you to yield,” Gu Yi said with a smile, drawing a small dagger from her waist. Together, they moved to the front of the group.
While Alphas might dominate in the ABO hierarchy, there was something even more crucial: lineage.
Gu Yi was a top-tier Omega, and years of rigorous training had made her every bit as formidable as an Alpha. After all, she had survived countless battles on bl00d-soaked battlefields.
As soon as they took their positions, the instructor blew the whistle. Song Feiyu felt a cool, ethereal fragrance rush toward her—the faint scent of jasmine permeated the entire training ground.
Song Feiyu parried with her dagger, the sharp blades clashing and sparking violently.
In mere seconds, they had exchanged over a dozen blows. Gu Yi’s attacks were relentless and swift, each strike aimed with lethal precision.
Song Feiyu was taken aback, immediately feeling ashamed. She had judged Gu Yi by her appearance, assuming that her noble Omega features meant she would be weaker.
After several minutes of combat, Song Feiyu gradually lost ground. Injuries sustained years ago had left her joints and physical functions far from their former peak.
This was precisely why she had been reassigned to rear-line duties.
Finally, in a moment of carelessness, Song Feiyu’s dagger was knocked flying by a single strike.
Her vision blurred, her left leg buckled, and she collapsed.
Damn it! My old injury flared up again.
Song Feiyu’s only thought was, Please don’t let me land face-first! It would be utterly humiliating in front of her students.
But a strong arm caught her head.
Song Feiyu felt the world spin. Her chin landed on something soft, not the painful impact she’d braced for.
“Why did you suddenly collapse?” Gu Yi asked, her voice sharp with anger. If she hadn’t reacted in time, using herself as a cushion, Song Feiyu would have surely broken her face.
“Sorry, my old injury flared up,” Song Feiyu mumbled, trying to stand. Her hand brushed against something unfamiliar.
Sensing something was wrong, she glanced down and saw a gilded brass button.
“Keep your hands to yourself…” Gu Yi’s cold glare made Song Feiyu immediately withdraw her hand, bracing herself on the ground.
“I’m sorry!” Her face flushed crimson, her ears and neck glowing like the evening sky.
“I’m not blaming you.” Gu Yi’s gaze settled on Song Feiyu’s left leg, her slender fingers gently probing the joint.
“Is this from the Coburn Big Bang?” Song Feiyu asked, surprised.
“How did you know?”
Back then, Song Feiyu was the supreme Honorary Captain, leading the fleet. It was during that time that her left leg was crippled by the Zerg.
“It’s nothing. I was there during the Coburn Big Bang too,” Gu Yi said casually.
What Song Feiyu didn’t know was that Gu Yi had been the Fleet Admiral, high above the fray. Gu Yi had assumed her elder sister’s name and infiltrated the ranks as a lowly pilot.
Having been raised with the etiquette and knowledge of a noble Omega since childhood, Gu Yi made quite a spectacle of herself on her first day piloting an aircraft. Everyone laughed, mocking the noble lady who couldn’t even start the engine.
Only Song Feiyu, her face stern, silenced the jeering crowd and personally taught Gu Yi how to fly.
From that moment on, Song Feiyu became Gu Yi’s guiding light—a ray of setting sun in the dimness of her noble Omega existence, her most precious salvation. Even after growing into a formidable figure, Gu Yi couldn’t let go, still yearning to find her.
“Oh, what a pity. I didn’t know you back then,” Song Feiyu said, nodding as she allowed the cadets to help her stand.
Afternoon training had ended, and it was time to change. Song Feiyu stood in the locker room, removing her black T-shirt.
Each instructor oversaw a hundred or two trainees, but specialized teachers handled more detailed lessons, allowing the instructors some downtime.
Having finished her duties for the day, Song Feiyu planned to return to her dormitory to relax with tea and a book.
Her left leg had twisted slightly earlier, causing a sharp pain that required pain medication.
However, just as she finished changing into her casual clothes, the locker room door swung open.
“Who’s there?” Song Feiyu asked, her guard up. This was her private locker room; no one else should be able to enter.
“It’s me,” Gu Yi’s slightly cold voice replied from behind. Her features were striking, like a vibrant flower blooming deep in the mountains.
“How did you get in here?” Song Feiyu asked, still buttoning her shirt. Hearing it was Gu Yi, she didn’t bother turning around, continuing to examine herself in the locker room mirror.
“Instructor Song, your former fleet designation was. I guessed your password might be the same.”
Gu Yi slowly approached. In the cramped changing room, Song Feiyu’s pheromone, which was usually so faint as to be almost undetectable, finally revealed itself slightly.
It was a faint lavender scent, yet lavender should be a strong, pungent fragrance, almost overwhelming one’s senses. But now, it was as diluted as lavender-scented laundry detergent, leaving only a lingering trace after being scorched by the sun.
“Looks like I guessed right,” Gu Yi said, her voice tinged with smugness. Her cool, melodious voice was exceptionally pleasing to the ear. If she weren’t so aloof, she’d be the perfect girlfriend material.
“After all these years, someone still remembers me,” Song Feiyu murmured, her tone troubled. She had concealed her identity, yet someone had still managed to uncover her past.
Suddenly, something clicked in her mind.
Song Feiyu tried to turn around, but found her waist firmly held, preventing her from moving.
“You knew about me? Is that why you agreed to the blind date?” Song Feiyu’s voice carried a hint of dejection. Was it all because of her identity, and nothing else?
“No,” Gu Yi shook her head. “I like your looks, your gentle kindness…”
“Even though I’ve known about you for a long time, you didn’t know about me. So, to you, we were no different from strangers.”
She finished speaking and lowered her head, the tip of her nose brushing against the back of the other woman’s neck, causing the fine hairs there to stand on end.
With her rounded fingernails, Gu Yi peeled off the adhesive patch covering the scent gland. As she gazed at the scar, her heart still ached, the sight still jarring.
“My Heat is still active, my dear girlfriend. Would you help me?”
Song Feiyu’s slender fingers pressed against the cold locker room wall. She stared at her reflection in the mirror, her gaze lingering on Gu Yi’s breathtaking profile.
She nodded.
“Hurry. If we stay too long, they’ll notice something’s off.”
Although each instructor had their own locker room, the rooms were interconnected. A colleague had seen her enter earlier.
Song Feiyu worried that if they lingered too long, her colleagues would start teasing her again.
Alphas with keen senses had already begun to suspect the ambiguous relationship between her and Gu Yi.
After all, Alpha-Alpha relationships weren’t uncommon in a base where everyone was an Alpha.
