The Top Omega Girlfriend of a Useless Alpha - Chapter 6
Omega teeth aren’t as sharp as those of Alphas, whose canines are typically pointed and easily pierce the glands to inject pheromones.
Gu Yi was different. Though her canines were only slightly sharper than average, they possessed an extraordinary porcelain-white sheen.
Noble Omegas are born with beauty and physical advantages beyond the reach of ordinary people—a fact that inspires envy, but one that cannot be replicated.
Yet this was enough. Gu Yi slowly transmitted her pheromones into Song Feiyu’s gland.
Song Feiyu pressed her lips together. To be honest, she didn’t mind the sensation.
But it felt strange, as if she were naturally drawn to Alphas.
Her fingertips pressed tightly against the changing room wall, so hard they turned white.
Time seemed to stretch endlessly.
Song Feiyu emerged from the changing room, her steps unsteady. Having been marked twice in quick succession, she felt as if the lavender scent of her pheromones had been replaced by the fragrance of jasmine.
“Shall I take you home?” Gu Yi asked, clearly relishing Song Feiyu’s current state. Though Song Feiyu was taller, her aura seemed to have shrunk inexplicably.
Temporary marking was a rare ability possessed only by Top Omegas. If Gu Yi were to follow her father’s plan and marry another Top Alpha…
But she couldn’t complete the marking.
Doing so would expose Gu Yi to a lethal Alpha pheromone attack. Song Feiyu’s faint lavender pheromone counterattack was like a tickle—it only intensified Gu Yi’s competitive spirit.
“No need,” Song Feiyu said, looking at Gu Yi. “Go home and rest well today. We need to prepare for tomorrow’s wilderness training. Since you’re in Heat and your body is weakened, bring extra supplies.”
“If you can’t fulfill your teaching duties, I’ll cover for you.”
Song Feiyu rubbed her neck, her glands throbbing faintly, but she only offered Gu Yi these instructions.
Since they lived nearby, walking home together would be convenient anyway.
Gu Yi didn’t offer to support Song Feiyu, watching her walk unsteadily, clinging to her Alpha pride.
“I understand. Thank you for your concern,” Gu Yi said as she turned the corner.
Song Feiyu glanced back. Gu Yi waved, her eyes crinkling into a rare smile. The unexpected gesture momentarily stunned Song Feiyu.
It took her a moment to recover, then she shook her head.
Really, how could I get so distracted by beauty? Song Feiyu scolded herself inwardly. Have I neglected my self-control training for too long? Is that why I’m so easily tempted now?
After a long journey by spacecraft, the group finally arrived at the wilderness training base.
Song Feiyu announced today’s mission: each trainee must capture at least two mutated creatures.
The creatures were ranked by danger level, with higher-risk targets offering greater rewards.
Trainees carried electronic distress beacons. In case of life-threatening situations, unmanned airships circling overhead would immediately dispatch to eliminate the monsters.
Instructors monitored the trainees through surveillance cameras, evaluating their performance.
By mid-morning, over a dozen trainees had already been eliminated due to stress-induced errors.
Soon, it was lunchtime.
The wilderness setting meant limited resources and meager rations.
Gu Yi stared at the compressed biscuits, her appetite gone.
Though not in Heat, she was experiencing an even more debilitating feverish period. During this time, ordinary Omegas required constant Alpha companionship, some even confined to bed for days.
Only her status as a Top Omega, combined with the latest suppressants, allowed her to function in this Alpha pheromone-saturated environment.
The other trainees, ravenously hungry, eagerly soaked the bland biscuits in thin meat broth, devouring them with gusto.
No matter how unappetizing these rations were, they were still a vast improvement over the fruit-flavored nutrient pastes of the past.
“Why isn’t Instructor Gu eating?” someone remarked.
The others watched as Gu Yi glanced at her lunch before turning back to her tent, resuming her observation of the trainees.
Confusion rippled through the group.
“Typical noble Omega,” one of them sneered. “Delicate and weak.”
The others echoed his disdain. How could Gu Yi, so young, have risen to the same rank as them without relying on connections?
“Exactly! Look at her—soft skin, tender flesh. Nothing like our rough, weathered hides.”
The others nodded in agreement.
“Gossiping about colleagues isn’t exactly professional,” Song Feiyu said, blowing on her hot soup. Her voice was quiet, yet it silenced the entire group.
“Song Feiyu, you’ve got a problem with me!” The instructor shot to his feet, his gaze locking onto Song Feiyu like a wolf eyeing its prey.
“I do,” Song Feiyu replied, setting down her bowl, her tone unwavering.
Seeing the two alphas about to clash, the others quickly intervened.
“Alright, alright, let’s calm down!”
“Can’t find an Omega? Just go for an Alpha and happily take the bottom position!”
“Song Feiyu, you’re really something! Now you’re defending your obedient little husband, aren’t you?”
The instructor’s temper was clearly a hair-trigger. He hurled every insult he could think of.
Song Feiyu’s pupils dilated, her hands trembling with rage.
“Say that again!”
Ignoring the others’ attempts to restrain her, she lunged forward.
The two alphas erupted into a brawl.
Meanwhile, Gu Yi was engrossed in grading her students’ videos, completely unaware of the commotion outside.
Song Feiyu was eventually pulled away, but neither alpha emerged unscathed, both sporting bruises and cuts.
Staring at the pot of meat soup, Song Feiyu fell into deep thought. After a long pause, she walked to a nearby stream and gazed at her reflection in the clear water, noticing a smear of bl00d at the corner of her mouth.
Cupping her hands, she splashed cool water to wipe away the bl00d.
Then, she removed her shoes and stepped into the stream.
As a wilderness training base, the water here was exceptionally pure, harboring rare and prized wild fish. These fish boasted succulent, fatty flesh, with some even being reserved as royal delicacies.
Song Feiyu’s sharp vision quickly spotted a large, dark fish resting beneath a rock, its eyes closed in repose.
Wading waist-deep into the icy water, she struck with lightning speed, seizing the fish in an instant.
The fish thrashed violently, straining the muscles in Song Feiyu’s arm. She slammed it against a rock, stunning it into unconsciousness.
Carrying the gutted and cleaned fish back, she sliced off fillets under the watchful eyes of her colleagues.
Song Feiyu found a clean iron plate, drizzled some oil, and laid the fish fillets on it.
As the sizzling oil filled the air, she gathered spices.
“It smells amazing,” someone murmured.
Someone couldn’t resist leaning in, trying to snatch a bite of the meat.
Song Feiyu glanced at them, and the person immediately looked guilty and withdrew their head.
Carrying the fish, Song Feiyu entered the tent, leaving her colleagues behind, swallowing their saliva.
Gu Yi had already finished grading her own students’ work and was now reviewing the videos of Song Feiyu’s students.
Only the eliminated students’ video performances were being evaluated. Though the pair had few eliminations today, reviewing each frame still took considerable time.
Noticing her stomach growling, Gu Yi was about to grab a nutrient bar to tide her over when she turned around and caught a whiff of a savory aroma.
“Dinner,” Song Feiyu said gently.
