The Top Omega Girlfriend of a Useless Alpha - Chapter 8
Song Feiyu leaned closer, close enough to inhale Gu Yi’s intense jasmine scent. Her fingertips gently traced the curve of Gu Yi’s jawline.
She tilted her head and leaned in further.
But just as their lips were about to touch, Song Feiyu flinched. We’ve only been together for a few days, she thought. Is it too soon for this?
Seeing Song Feiyu’s last-minute retreat, Gu Yi’s eyes flickered with amusement, and she chuckled softly.
She reached out, cupping the back of Song Feiyu’s head, her fingers sliding through the slightly curled strands of hair.
Gu Yi’s cherry-pink lips brushed against the corner of Song Feiyu’s mouth, and she couldn’t resist teasing, “I told you you were a coward, but you didn’t believe me.”
Song Feiyu was about to retort when a flurry of hurried footsteps echoed outside the tent.
“Hurry! We have to find her!”
The urgency in the voice startled both women, especially Gu Yi, whose face suddenly paled, turning deathly white.
“What’s wrong? Is your Heat getting worse again?” Song Feiyu quickly pulled Gu Yi into her arms, sniffing the air deeply. She detected no signs of Gu Yi’s pheromones spiraling out of control.
“No, those people are probably here for me.”
Damn, they’re fast! Gu Yi had just dared them to come get her, and here they were!
“For you?” Song Feiyu remained confused. “Instructor Gu, what did you do wrong?”
“The Information Database updated again. Didn’t you hear? My family is trying to arrange a new Omega for me.”
Gu Yi patiently explained, but just as the footsteps faded, they returned.
“Ah, but didn’t you say you were going on Alpha dates because your pheromones were considered undesirable?”
“I never said that. You’re just guessing.”
Song Feiyu thought back carefully, and it seemed she might be right.
“But you also didn’t…”
She was about to ask again when her mouth was covered. Gu Yi buried her face in Song Feiyu’s neck, like a fox seeking its Master’s embrace.
The next moment, the tent flap was pulled open, and harsh light flooded in.
“What are you two doing?”
A man in a black uniform strode in, his Alpha pheromones radiating a strong tobacco scent that carried an overwhelming sense of dominance.
“Nothing. But barging into my tent like this is rather impolite, don’t you think?” Song Feiyu maintained her posture, tightening her grip on Gu Yi as the man approached. Her fingers gently cupped the back of Gu Yi’s head, pressing her cheek almost against Song Feiyu’s collarbone.
Unless the man physically pried them apart, Gu Yi’s face would remain hidden.
But the more she tried to conceal Gu Yi, the more suspicious it seemed.
“Let go of her.”
The man reached out to pull Gu Yi away.
“Back off!”
Song Feiyu glared at the man. The scent of lavender instantly filled the air, but it was faint, like a thin mist.
“She’s mine. You can’t take her.”
The man sneered, his tobacco-scented pheromones intensifying and targeting Song Feiyu directly.
The overwhelming pressure and aggression caused a sharp, needle-like pain in Song Feiyu’s glands.
Warm liquid trickled from her nostrils, dripping onto Gu Yi’s collar.
Gu Yi stared at the bloodstain, instantly recalling a scene from years ago: the wreckage of warships scattered everywhere, the air thick with smoke.
Song Feiyu, piloting a battered mech, stood before dozens of Zerg warriors, shielding the raw recruits of the Fleet behind her. Gu Yi had been one of them.
When the Zerg failed to capture the Fleet commander alive, they fired a high-powered laser cannon. If they couldn’t take her alive, they would at least bring back her corpse.
After the blast, half the mech was blown away, exposing its metal skeleton. Song Feiyu looked as if she had been soaked in bl00d.
Her back was especially ravaged, yet she refused to yield, protecting the remaining recruits on the desolate battlefield as they awaited rescue.
Back then, Gu Yi had clutched her drained laser rifle tightly, her fingers white-knuckled.
Pulled back by her comrade, Gu Yi watched helplessly as Song Feiyu collapsed.
At this thought, Gu Yi finally couldn’t hold back.
She turned, the rich jasmine scent clashing with the tobacco smoke. Despite being an Omega, her noble lineage granted her exceptional pheromonal abilities.
The man’s head began to throb. Clutching his temples, he forced out each word:
“I’ve found you, Gu Yi!”
Gu Yi grabbed Song Feiyu’s hand and, seizing the moment when everyone was stunned by her pheromones, fled the tent.
“Chase them down!” the man shouted, releasing his own pheromones.
Song Feiyu was completely dragged along. Her nosebleed had stopped, but the shock in her eyes remained uncontainable.
Even the dullest person could now distinguish the scents of Omega and Alpha pheromones.
So intense, so cloyingly sweet.
Completely devoid of aggression, even when confronting the man earlier, her pheromones had only radiated protectiveness.
This wasn’t an Alpha at all!
This was Omega pheromones!
“You’re… you’re an Omega.”
Song Feiyu’s voice was nearly lost in the wind as Gu Yi rounded a corner and fled into the woods.
Glancing back at her pursuer, Gu Yi expertly slipped into a thicket of bushes, brushed aside the fallen leaves, and revealed a combination lock on the ground.
Her fingers flew across the keypad as she entered the code and dove inside. Song Feiyu stared in stunned disbelief.
Reacting quickly, Song Feiyu lunged forward to follow, but Gu Yi grabbed her wrist and yanked her down.
The two tumbled down a long flight of stairs into complete darkness. Gu Yi, disoriented, could only brace herself with her hands against the ground.
“Easy… I can’t breathe…”
A weak voice whispered in her ear. After a moment, Gu Yi’s eyes adjusted to the darkness.
She looked down and saw Song Feiyu sprawled awkwardly beneath her, Gu Yi lying directly on her chest.
No wonder she couldn’t breathe.
“Wait,” Gu Yi said, reaching for the wall. After fumbling around for a while, she finally found the light switch and flipped it on, illuminating the underground chamber.
The sudden bright light blinded them both momentarily.
“Where are we?” Song Feiyu asked, her hair disheveled, completely unaware that the Wild Training Base had such a place.
“When I came here, I borrowed a map of the Wild Training Base. There are hundreds of these temporary underground bunkers scattered throughout the base.”
“This is just the closest one to us.”
Gu Yi straightened her clothes and noticed the fresh bl00d Song Feiyu had dripped onto her collar. Immediately, a pang of concern struck her, and she leaned closer.
“Is your gland okay? Did that old man damage it?”
Gu Yi’s eyes flashed with fierce anger. That bastard, she thought, abusing his position as my father’s subordinate to do whatever he pleases. Just wait until I get out of here—I’ll make him pay dearly.
“I’m fine,” Song Feiyu replied. “But… how did I not know you were an Omega, Instructor Gu?”
Song Feiyu looked up at Gu Yi, her eyes betraying suspicion.
Damn it, Gu Yi thought, I lost my cool in the heat of the moment. She felt a pang of frustration at having revealed her secret so quickly.
