The Unmarried Omega Falls into Being a Wife - Chapter 12
Gu Pei smiled and scooped another spoonful of porridge, feeding it to Lin Xunye.
“I hope next time I can satisfy you.”
“Hmph, you’re such a sweet talking Alpha,” Lin Xunye muttered quietly. When he looked up, their eyes met.
Gu Pei tilted his head slightly, still smiling, holding the demeanor of a gentleman, and softly asked, “What’s wrong?”
“N-nothing,”
“I thought you were secretly cursing me.”
Gu Pei put down the warm porridge, stirred it a little, and scooped another spoonful.
“After all, you did call me ‘sweet-talking.’”
“But maybe I misheard after all, the wind was strong today.”
Getting caught cursing someone was not a proud moment.
But that didn’t mean he would surrender to Gu Pei.
Lin Xunye quickly adjusted his mood, puffed out his chest and pretended to be brave:
“I didn’t say anything just now, don’t try to blame me.”
Seeing Lin Xunye getting more and more guilty, Gu Pei chuckled softly.
“Alright, I understand, I must have misheard.” His tone sounded helpless.
Lin Xunye nodded, crossed his arms, and sat on the bed.
When the spoon approached his mouth, Lin Xunye initially kept his lips tightly shut, refusing to open.
Who would eat porridge fed by someone they just cursed?
But Gu Pei looked at him like a heartless scoundrel who would just throw him away once done.
Following the old saying “when someone feeds you, you’re too soft to refuse,” Lin Xunye finally ate the porridge with a sour expression.
After repeating twice, half a bowl of porridge went down, and Lin Xunye’s complexion recovered somewhat.
After finishing the porridge, Lin Xunye glanced around the bedroom and asked, “Is this your place?”
Gu Pei put down the bowl and wiped his hands clean.
“Yeah, it can also be your home.” He changed the handkerchief to wipe Lin Xunye’s mouth, but Lin Xunye dodged it.
Lin Xunye snatched the handkerchief from Gu Pei and wiped messily, then tossed it onto the small table.
His movement was too quick for Gu Pei to catch the loneliness in his eyes and the way his fingers twined together.
The bedroom smelled strongly of air freshener, and Lin Xunye felt like he was about to get allergic just from the scent.
He casually threw off the quilt, and Gu Pei didn’t stop him, sitting back slightly with hands clasped on his knees.
The next moment, Lin Xunye suddenly fell off the bed.
Panicked, he reached out his right hand to grab Gu Pei’s hand resting on his knee, using the leverage to sit back on the bed.
He was scared to death.
Panting, Lin Xunye sat on the bed, his grip on Gu Pei’s wrist gradually tightening.
Gu Pei remained still, his eyes half-closed under the increasing pressure.
The way Lin Xunye used force was exactly the same as before.
His gaze flicked between Lin Xunye’s palm and face, now completely sure that Lin Xunye was an omega.
After all, only someone with some strength could leave bruises on him.
Gu Pei could still recall how Yu Ji looked at him the day after they met, as if suspecting he had been out partying.
Lin Xunye supported his waist and glared at him irritably.
Gu Pei looked pure and harmless, but flipped Lin Xunye’s wrist easily, gently putting him back on the bed.
At the end, he even tucked the quilt around him carefully.
The fluid motion left Lin Xunye no time to react.
The earlier large movement made his previously ignored waist ache again.
He leaned his head against the headboard, swallowed twice, and asked, “When you brought me back yesterday, did you get attacked?”
Gu Pei was surprised, “You don’t remember?”
Lin Xunye was puzzled, “What should I remember?”
So when he said I was “sweet talking,” it wasn’t about that…
Gu Pei’s mood lifted a little. After a short silence, choosing his words carefully, and seeing Lin Xunye grow more impatient, he said seriously,
“Your heat cycle started.”
“It happened suddenly, and there was no better way, so I brought you back. I planned to give you a suppressor shot, but you kept pestering me for a temporary mark. I couldn’t get away, so I bit you.”
Lin Xunye’s pale face darkened as Gu Pei explained. He gritted his teeth and asked, “Why didn’t you just punch me awake?”
Gu Pei was stunned by the question. He seriously thought about it, then replied,
“We’re legally married. Hitting you would be domestic violence; that’s not good.”
Last night, Lin Xunye was like a little cat affected by the Y gene both wild and obedient, totally different from usual.
He couldn’t bear to hurt Lin Xunye.
Lin Xunye suppressed his anger to the breaking point and asked one last question,
“Are you sure it’s just a temporary mark?”
Gu Pei remained calm, “I’m sure.”
Lin Xunye chuckled dryly and then kicked Gu Pei in the lower body.
Gu Pei stretched his long legs, moving the chair backward with him.
Lin Xunye held his waist, angrily saying,
“So what about my waist? Was it gnawed by a dog?”
Gu Pei got up calmly, spread his long arms to embrace Lin Xunye’s waist and laid him back on the bed.
Ignoring Lin Xunye’s struggles, he tucked the quilt around him and leaned on his neck with both hands, eyes dangerous but with a bit of longing,
“Stay put. Two more days of heat to go.”
“Why should I listen to you?” Lin Xunye grumbled.
“Because I’m your legally wedded husband,” Gu Pei said firmly.
In the past few days since they met, Gu Pei was always easygoing, making Lin Xunye subconsciously think that was his nature.
But Gu Pei’s attitude outside was totally different from how he was around Lin Xunye.
At just 26, Gu Pei had made his father step down and enjoy life without worrying about the company.
If he had no skills, that would be impossible.
No one who sat at the negotiation table with Gu Pei ever left unscathed.
At work, he was the untouchable boss. Outside, he was the powerful Mr. Gu who could intimidate opponents with just a glance.
Since gaining strength, Gu Pei hadn’t bowed to anyone.
Lin Xunye was the first in recent years to dare lay hands on Gu Pei repeatedly and provoke him.
Their distance closed rapidly. Gu Pei’s perfectly shaped thin lips were only a few centimeters from Lin Xunye’s.
If he raised his head, he could kiss him.
Lin Xunye panicked, his eyes darting, but found no way to escape.
Gu Pei watched every small expression on Lin Xunye’s face.
He found it a bit… cute.
Gu Pei’s breathing deepened, his hands bent on both sides.
The sweet smell of creamy milk had somehow appeared again, swirling around them.
Their breaths seemed to stop.
So close.
Lin Xunye swallowed hard, about to be kissed, but suddenly pulled the quilt over his head and muffled his voice,
“I’m going to sleep, you should leave.”
Behind the thin blanket, Gu Pei’s eyes burned, staring at the hidden figure.
Actually, at first, he was very angry.
That night in New Zealand, his memories were fuzzy. The only things he remembered were the scent of creamy milk and the words, “I hate being an omega, I hate myself, I want to be a Beta.”
Instinctively, Gu Pei had retorted,
“You don’t need to hide your true gender by pretending to be a Beta. You’re perfect as you are, I really like you.”
Then he remembered nothing else.
Gu Pei thought, if he found that omega, he’d make him kneel and apologize.
But when he found out it was Lin Xunye, he no longer thought that way.
If it was Lin Xunye, that was pretty good.
“I’m going to the company. Dinner will be prepared by someone else. If you want anything, just tell Auntie. Also, I’ve arranged for your teacher to stay at a hotel under the Gu Group, with a personal guide, so you don’t have to worry,” Gu Pei said, adjusting his tie while standing by the bed.
He only found out late last night that the person Lin Xunye had locked eyes with during the day was his teacher.
At that time, Lin Xunye’s phone kept ringing, so Gu Pei answered it.
The other side immediately asked if he was Lin Xunye’s fiancé.
Gu Pei said he was his husband, and the other side laughed happily.
The conversation was full of blessings.
After some small talk, Gu Pei sent Ge Yan to the hotel and arranged a full tour service.
Lin Xunye turned his back on him without the surprise Gu Pei expected.
The bright, flamboyant red hair looked like a messy fur ball just waking up.
When Lin Xunye woke up in the daytime, he checked his phone. Teacher Ge had already told him everything and praised Gu Pei. He really didn’t understand what was so good about Gu Pei that even Teacher Ge was captivated.
Gu Pei’s hand twitched, and he leaned down to rub Lin Xunye’s head.
“Did you hear that?”
Lin Xunye twitched and answered lazily, “Didn’t hear.”
Gu Pei rubbed again, and the long tie dangled, tickling Lin Xunye’s ear.
Lin Xunye’s ears were very sensitive, and after piercing, even a light touch from others made them blush.
Before Gu Pei’s hand could reach, Lin Xunye grabbed the tie.
He glared fiercely, strong enough to strangle Gu Pei with the tie if he tried to touch again.
“Try it.”
Gu Pei raised both hands in surrender, “No more.”
The tall man over two meters was pulled by the tie, forced to lean down, but didn’t get angry and calmly soothed,
“That was an accident, don’t be mad, okay?”
Gu Pei’s good attitude softened Lin Xunye’s anger. He loosened his grip,
“Okay, I forgive you because you admitted it so nicely.”
The door closed quietly, and Lin Xunye fell asleep again.
At 6 p.m., someone knocked on the bedroom door.
Lin Xunye struggled out of bed and opened the door.
His figure differed slightly from Gu Pei’s. The oversized pajamas looked loose on him but still pleasing to the eye in a different way.
At the door stood a kind-faced auntie holding a bowl of washed strawberries.
“Are you Mr. Lin? Mr. Gu asked me to bring you these fruits. By the way, is there anything special you want to eat tonight?”
The bright red strawberries were placed neatly in a pale pink bowl, with droplets of water still clinging.
Lin Xunye thought for a moment, accepted the strawberries, thanked her, then said,
“Make whatever you’re best at, the food Gu Pei hates most is fine.”
The auntie was incredulous, “Young master, are you sure?”
Lin Xunye nodded without hesitation,
“Yes, I’m not picky.”
Lin Xunye’s boast just now was instantly broken.
Gu Pei came home early today, frowning as he entered.
“Wang Ma, you made… a cilantro feast?”
Wang Ma put down the last dish, wiping her hands nervously,
“The young master said he wanted to eat…”
She thought quickly and rephrased,
“Something with a stronger flavor.”
Gu Pei nodded without saying more.
Wang Ma relaxed and went back to the kitchen to wash some fruit.
Gu Pei walked upstairs, knocked lightly on the bedroom door twice, then pushed it open.
Lin Xunye was eating strawberries and playing games with Xu Qian, not even looking at him.
Gu Pei took off his coat, glanced at him, then went to the study.
The bedroom was left with Lin Xunye alone again.
But he didn’t relax instead, he was a bit annoyed.
Was he some kind of demon?
Why did he run away so fast?
“Bro, come support me, you’re camping in the bushes!” Xu Qian yelled loudly, making Lin Xunye’s eardrums hurt.
“I’m going to the bathroom in the bushes,” Lin Xunye said, placing the phone on the bed and heading to the study door.
Lin Xunye had stayed in the villa for a day but hadn’t gone out for a walk. He only opened the door once.
At first, he wasn’t interested in appreciating Gu Pei’s taste.
But now, he suddenly felt curious.
After all, he had to monitor Gu Pei in real time, just in case this guy was planning something bad!
