The Unmarried Omega Falls into Being a Wife - Chapter 3
“Am I really your biological child?”
“Slap”
Lin Xunye’s face was slapped aside, the lip piercing fell off, and a trace of fresh bl00d seeped from the corner of his mouth.
“Heh…”
Lin Xunye’s voice was hoarse. He wiped the bl00d at the corner of his mouth harshly. The fresh bl00d stained the back of his hand. He lowered his gaze, looked at it for a moment, then suddenly smiled.
Is this what a family is?
So suffocating.
Lin’s father seemed enraged to the extreme. He staggered to his feet, spewing harsh words, “You will go whether you want to or not! Someone! Tie him up, tie him up!”
“You were my son in your past life. You must sacrifice for me! In this life, you won’t escape either!” Lin’s father angrily cursed, repeating “past life” and “this life” in a confusing mess.
Lin Xunye watched coldly, his limbs turning icy cold.
If there really was a past life, he must have suffered terribly.
Did his past self also get sold off by his father?
The black-clad bodyguards stepped forward, ready to restrain Lin Xunye. Lin bent down, picked up the lip piercing that had fallen to the ground, and clenched it in his hand.
“No need. I’ll go myself.”
Before going upstairs, Lin Xunye stood at the bottom of the stairs, leaning his back against the railing, full of disappointment and regret.
“I wish the paternity test from back then was fake.”
In sophomore year, Lin Xunye secretly went to the hospital for a paternity test without telling his family.
His situation was already very difficult then. After Lin Xunye was born, his mother suffered postpartum depression. A miscalculation with her medication caused irreversible damage. Lin’s father took advantage of this to emotionally manipulate her into becoming a housewife.
The housewife Lin Xunye’s mother seemed mad. She mentally abused Lin Xunye.
There was no physical abuse, but it was far more painful.
The worst year, Lin Xunye learned to lie.
No matter how people outside asked, he always said he loved his mother. Otherwise, he would face cold violence, have meals cut, and become the invisible, transparent person in the family.
This was Lin Xunye’s survival method learned through experience.
This lasted until sophomore year, when his mother entered menopause. She constantly talked about her hardships and brainwashed him to marry early to bring her some pride.
But Lin Xunye had his own mind. He said to his mother: “Mom, get a divorce. You’re too miserable. I can earn money and support you.”
The cost of that sentence was being locked in the basement by his father and beaten with rattan.
The thin, soft rattan stung like fire. Lin Xunye cried and begged his father to stop, but refused to admit fault.
He didn’t think caring for family was wrong.
But still, his heart grew cold.
The next day, Lin Xunye went for a paternity test.
The result disappointed him he was truly the biological child of Lin’s father and mother.
Life locked inside the Lin family was dull. Aside from the recurring daily dreams, everything else was unbearably boring.
Lin Xunye would sleep till mid-morning, then come downstairs only after the family left.
With bodyguards watching, he couldn’t leave. The housemaids wouldn’t leave him food.
No one treated him like the head of this family.
At first, he wasn’t even allowed in the kitchen. Only after intimidating a maid with a look did he gain access.
Lin’s father couldn’t control him. For this rebellious son, the father could only scold him superficially.
Lin Xunye didn’t want much contact with them anyway; they were like NPCs endlessly refreshing in his life, causing no emotional waves.
Finally, on the fifth day, Lin Xunye got a chance to go out.
Because his marriage partner woke up that cold as a fridge vegetative person, Gu Pei.
The meeting place was a restaurant Lin Xunye had never been to, but heard about from Xu Qian.
It was said the food was so good it could make one ascend on the spot. Reservations had to be made two or three days in advance, and the place was always packed.
To avoid being noticed, Lin Xunye wore a wasteland-style jacket, underneath an irregular patchwork short sleeve, paired with brown knee-length shorts and some very artsy shoes.
Lin Xunye was very satisfied with his outfit. After all, he was feeling more spirited than ever, and anyone who liked him must be either blind or stupid.
Gu Pei arrived after his meeting and ordered two glasses of iced water, then closed his eyes and thought deeply.
In a year, he had gone on thirty matchmaking dates. Today was the thirty-first. If he didn’t find the boy from his dreams soon, he would have to see a psychiatrist.
Since he had memory, the boy had always appeared in his dreams. Suddenly, the boy said: “Next life, I want to try matchmaking.”
For this sentence alone, Gu Pei had gone on thirty matchmaking dates in a year.
His official rest time was fully occupied, even squeezed into his special time.
He had less time to indulge himself at bars at night. Then, due to company turmoil, he feigned vegetative state for a month to gather strength. A few days ago, he cleaned out the parasites in the company.
Gu Pei didn’t mind much, but he was determined to find the dream person.
Not just because of obsession.
Also because of the omega who took advantage of him in New Zealand that night…
“Hello?” A shadow fell before Gu Pei, blocking his light. His eyelids twitched. Opening his eyes, he saw a trendily dressed Lin Xunye.
Lin Xunye caught him off guard with eye contact. Gu Pei’s clear eyes reflected only himself. For a moment, Gu Pei felt like he saw a galaxy full of stars.
He quickly came back to himself, pulled out a chair and sat down, took off five ear studs one by one, lined them up where Gu Pei could see, and naturally introduced himself:
“Lin Xunye, unemployed, enjoys freeloading, hates marriage. Oh, and I’m a Beta, infertile.”
Gu Pei: “……”
Gu Pei had a great memory and had memorized Lin Xunye’s information. But hearing Lin Xunye’s nonsense was quite entertaining.
Also, this person seemed to be the omega who deliberately teased him at the bar entrance.
Gu Pei’s gaze ran over the five big characters on the ear studs arranged crookedly on the table. He adjusted his tie and straightened his back.
In a tone very different from that night at the bar, he said: “Gu Pei, CEO of Gu Corporation, high-quality Alpha. Strength: rich. Weakness: “also rich.”
This was the most casual self-introduction Gu Pei had done in all his matchmaking dates. Usually, he would hand over a pile of documents and wait for the other side to finish reading before starting detailed conversation.
Judging from the first impression of Lin Xunye, he definitely wouldn’t look at those documents — might even slam them on his own face.
Lin Xunye nodded after hearing Gu Pei’s self-intro, then resumed drinking his iced water.
Suddenly, he raised his head: “Gu Pei, got a woman’s name?”
Gu Pei: “Pure Alpha.”
“Ohhh.” Lin Xunye made small talk. “You were a vegetable patient, how did you suddenly wake up?”
If anyone else asked that, the matchmaking would be over. But Gu Pei was different. He was interested.
“The timing came, so naturally I woke.”
The answer was unoriginal. Lin Xunye glanced at the clock. Time was nearly up, so he got up to leave, but Gu Pei grabbed his wrist.
The temperature of Gu Pei’s hand was as warm as the blue-haired man’s from that bar night.
If Gu Pei weren’t black-haired, Lin Xunye would suspect he was that blue-haired guy.
His glands started heating up again; he needed more suppressants.
“How come you chose me?” Lin Xunye raised an eyebrow, almost engraving “Your taste is questionable” on his face.
Gu Pei chuckled, thinking his brain was broken. He relaxed his grip. Lin Xunye pulled his hand back but was grabbed again.
When Gu Pei just let go, his fingertips suddenly twitched like an electric shock, and his heart clenched.
Something seemed to click.
It was as if this rebellious guy in front of him was meant to be his wife.
His behavior was strange. Lin Xunye’s patience was running out. Few bodyguards guarded the door; this was a chance to escape, but Gu Pei held him back.
“Let go.” Lin Xunye’s tone was unfriendly.
Gu Pei steadied himself: “No.”
Lin Xunye didn’t expect this answer. He quickly looked at Gu Pei. The pain briefly flashing in the man’s eyes felt familiar but he couldn’t recall why.
Before he could react, Gu Pei pulled him down onto the chair.
“Reintroduce yourself. Gu Pei, male Alpha, marriage-minded, can register marriage right now.”
Lin Xunye: “”
For some reason, when Gu Pei said “male Alpha,” his enunciation was especially heavy.
“Reserved.”
“Eh?”
Lin Xunye frowned, then sighed, unsure if he was lamenting Gu Pei’s taste or intelligence. “That’s all for my intro. I don’t marry; it’s my life motto…”
“What if I can help you get out of your current situation?”
Gu Pei’s one sentence blocked all Lin Xunye’s words.
Lin Xunye desperately wanted to escape control, which Gu Pei learned from his investigation.
Gu Pei originally didn’t intend to marry Lin Xunye because he looked nothing like the boy in his dream. But unexpectedly, that soul-touching electric feeling seemed to run through his life as if they were meant to marry.
It was magical.
Gu Pei didn’t rush Lin Xunye to decide. Suppressing the loneliness and joy in his eyes, he slowly took out a contract.
“Marry me, and I will give you everything you want.”
This contract was drafted before Gu Pei’s first matchmaking date, but today was the first time he presented it.
Thankfully it was well preserved otherwise, Lin Xunye could have debated over yellowed, wrinkled paper.
Lin Xunye looked at the contract, unsure what Gu Pei was thinking.
Gu Pei’s offer was tempting, and Lin Xunye had no reason to refuse. He casually flipped through the contract, frowning deeply.
“What does this clause mean?” Lin Xunye pointed to Article 38, “Both parties must provide pheromones to each other when necessary; failure to do so counts as breach of contract.”
Gu Pei glanced: “Literally means I know you’re an omega; no need to hide anymore. Omegas are great too.”
Lin Xunye was stunned by this but thought carefully marrying Gu Pei didn’t sound too bad.
Having someone to back him up and being a tool was a win-win.
He nodded. “Okay, got a pen?”
Gu Pei handed over a pen clipped to his suit. Lin Xunye looked at it disdainfully but took it unwillingly, then signed neatly.
The contract was pushed to Gu Pei, who bent over, his heart beating wildly.
That signature was ugly really ugly.
After signing, Gu Pei proposed to send Lin Xunye back to the Lin family.
Lin Xunye wanted to refuse but saw the bodyguards at the door wouldn’t stop them, so he agreed.
With Gu Pei around, the bodyguards wouldn’t act rashly.
This made things much easier for Lin Xunye.
Before getting in the car, Lin Xunye stopped Gu Pei’s driver and said, “Can I drive?”
Gu Pei’s unruly hair blew arrogantly across his face, the background seemingly all his stage. This scene perfectly matched Gu Pei’s dream.
“Sure,” Gu Pei whispered.
Lin Xunye didn’t bother being polite, hit the gas, and roared home.
Gu Pei blinked once, and Lin Xunye was home.
“Thanks!” Lin Xunye smiled, hair tousled by the wind, dimples playing around his mouth, as if inviting someone to pluck.
“Wait.” Gu Pei said.
Lin Xunye stopped, suspicious. Gu Pei took five ear studs from his pocket and held them out through the window.
The five irregular ear studs lay in Gu Pei’s reddened palm. Lin Xunye didn’t immediately take them.
Gu Pei moved them closer again. Lin Xunye’s eyelashes trembled, then slowly reached out as if waking up.
His movements were quick, lightly scratching Gu Pei’s palm.
Lin Xunye wrapped the ear studs in his hand and smiled carelessly at Gu Pei.
The driver got out and leaned on his knees, vomiting for half an hour by the roadside.
The car window rose. Gu Pei sat inside, watching Lin Xunye climb two steps to the door.
The sun was setting, as if everything became his backdrop.
Lin Xunye had been back in the country less than half a month jet lag hadn’t passed.
Marriage was pre-booked.
After signing the contract, the next step was registering the marriage.
Lin Xunye procrastinated for a month and still hadn’t made up his mind.
He originally hated marriage, and selling his body for freedom made him even more upset.
During this time, news of Gu Pei calmed the Lin family; they never disturbed him. The black-clad bodyguards disappeared without a trace.
His only two friends: one immersed in calligraphy, cycling news; the other constantly attending different gatherings, gossiping about Gu Pei.
After a month, Lin Xunye hadn’t met Gu Pei even once but heard plenty of news.
The only annoyance was the bouquets regularly left at his doorstep.
Mid-August, the hottest time of year.
Opening the door, Lin Xunye was hit by a fragrant floral scent.
In July, with more free time, he went out almost daily; the daily bouquet was a fixed routine. But by mid-August, he got busier.
In this country, August is scorching. Flowers are delicate. Three days without care, and the bouquets faded, drooping like tired little buds.
Lin Xunye squatted down, examining the flowers carefully. His pure white jacket was stained with a few ink spots.
Each bouquet came with a small card. The notes weren’t flowery words or blessings but cold, emotionless clauses.
The most conspicuous was the clause he once discussed with Gu Pei.
He remembered Gu Pei’s serious expression, those emotionless eyes staring at him as if he were a rare treasure, then calmly saying, “Omegas are great too.”
It was reassuring enough to make Lin Xunye decide to marry in that stunned moment.
But that didn’t mean Lin Xunye wouldn’t regret it.
Truthfully, he already did.
Marriage was like stepping into a grave especially with an Alpha he had only met once it was like stepping into ruins.
He regretted it. He didn’t want to marry anymore.
