- The Unmarried Omega Falls into Being a Wife
- Chapter 6 - Fines For Not Getting Married
“Why can’t we come in? We’re VIPs too!” Lin Youjia stood at the hotel entrance, holding the arm of a petite female omega.
“Sorry sir, the place is fully booked today. How about I book another time for you?” the attendant replied politely.
Lin Youjia’s face turned dark. The female omega beside him shook his hand slightly and whispered something in his ear.
Her voice was low, so Lin Xunye couldn’t hear clearly, but judging by her lip movements, he guessed she said “I want to eat here.”
A few seconds later, Lin Youjia stepped forward, his fingers nearly poking the attendant’s eyes.
“Call your floor manager! My brother in law is Gu Pei, CEO of the Gu Corporation. If you don’t let me in today, I’ll have him buy this place out tomorrow!” Lin Youjia threatened fiercely. “Then don’t say it’s just you, even your manager will be out of a job!”
The three people standing behind Lin Youjia: “……”
Xu Qian stopped moving and stepped closer to Lin Xunye. “Brother, your brother is shameless he dares to act like this before the wedding. Imagine after it’s done…”
Li Ye immediately motioned for Xu Qian to shut up.
Seeing Lin Youjia getting more and more out of line, Lin Xunye couldn’t bear it anymore. He raised a hand heavily, slapping Lin Youjia on the shoulder.
“Brother, are you looking for trouble?”
“What…” Lin Youjia turned, meeting Lin Xunye’s cold and merciless gaze, instantly silenced.
The female omega, unhappy with Lin Xunye, flashed forward, intending to slap him. Lin Xunye didn’t dodge. Instead, he pulled Lin Youjia in front of him, and the woman’s slap landed squarely on Lin Youjia’s right cheek.
“Oh? Sister-in-law is giving my brother a spa treatment?” Lin Xunye tilted his head, eyes sharp as he stared at the female omega behind Lin Youjia.
Up close, Lin Youjia’s disgusting pheromone scent was even stronger. Lin Xunye frowned in displeasure and lightened his breathing, afraid he might vomit.
“You are… Lin Bùye?” The female omega trembled, then stared wide-eyed in disbelief. Her thick smoky makeup instantly faded, revealing the edges of her contact lenses clearly to Lin Xunye.
Lin Xunye had gone abroad early, so the omega had never seen him and naturally didn’t know what he looked like.
“Sister-in-law, my name is Lin, Xun, Ye,” Lin Xunye said clearly, then raised his hand and slapped Lin Youjia’s left cheek. He let go, and Lin Youjia staggered back. “Perfect symmetry.”
Meanwhile, on the third floor.
Yu Ji held a glass of wine, looking down. “Your fiancé is quite spicy!”
Gu Pei stood beside him, hands on the railing, watching below.
Lin Xunye’s red hair was even more striking against the night. The earrings on his two ears were the same pair he wore the day they met I won’t get married.
Gu Pei looked down as if watching a story with Lin Xunye as the protagonist from a third-person perspective. He hoped he wasn’t just a side character.
“Why aren’t you saying anything? Don’t you think he’s spicy? Both hot and cool,” Yu Ji said.
Gu Pei leaned back, not responding. He was trying to fit Lin Xunye and his dream figure together the dream figure seemed not to reject him, but the excess was gone.
Yu Ji’s words echoed in his mind.
Gu Pei had to admit, Lin Xunye was spicy like a little chili pepper, a bite could kill him.
The commotion downstairs gradually died down. Gu Pei turned and headed down.
Yu Ji finished his wine and followed.
With Lin Xunye stepping in, things resolved quickly.
Lin Youjia saw Lin Xunye and shrank like a quail, forgetting all his previous boasting, constantly bowing and apologizing.
The female omega, seeing the situation was unfavorable, abandoned Lin Youjia and ran off.
Lin Youjia was held in place by Lin Xunye’s firm grip on his shoulder, bowing nonstop.
When Gu Pei came down, he saw this scene.
“Brother, c-can you stop now…?” Lin Youjia shrank his shoulders and quickly crouched as Lin Xunye looked up.
But Lin Xunye’s strength was too great; not only did he fail to dodge, but the gust from Lin Xianye’s slap scared him senseless.
Lin Xunye’s palm stopped half an inch from Lin Youjia’s face as he coldly warned, “Don’t let me hear you or that Gu Pei causing trouble again.”
“Okay, okay, I promise no next time,” Lin Youjia nodded repeatedly.
Lin Xunye let go and watched coldly as Lin Youjia fled out of sight.
Parasite.
With the matter settled, Lin Xunye turned to leave, Li Ye and Xu Qian following.
The restaurant was fully booked; talking more was pointless better to grab some street skewers.
“Wait.” Gu Pei had been watching Lin Xunnye from the shadows and spoke up as he turned to leave.
It wasn’t that he didn’t want to help; he trusted Lin Xunye could handle it himself.
Lin Xunnye stopped, expression unreadable, but his twitching mouth betrayed him. He turned, meeting Gu Pei’s eyes.
Annoying.
Gu Pei walked forward, warmly asking, “Do you want to eat? There are still seats inside.”
Lin Xunye turned away, ignoring him, leaving Gu Pei with a cold back.
Not responding didn’t mean others wouldn’t.
First to react was Xu Qian. “Gu Ge, are you the big boss who booked the whole place?”
Xu Qian loved playing around, but he also had a hobby eating.
Not only did he love food, he was good at it. Within five seconds of tasting, he could judge whether to come back.
In the city’s gourmet world, there was nothing Xu Qian didn’t know unless it hadn’t been invented yet.
Gu Pei’s attitude towards Xu Qian was indifferent. Looking at Lin Xunye’s back, he asked again, “Want to come in?”
That annoying voice felt like it was speaking directly to him. Lin Xunye rubbed his head, pulled his hat down, clearly annoyed: “Eat, eat, eat.”
You won’t die from eating, you perverted Alpha who picks fiancées like lamps!
Having gotten the expected answer, Gu Pei turned calmly.
The three of them got to enjoy the dinner they had wanted for a long time.
But Lin Xunye wasn’t happy.
At the table, five people sat like two different worlds.
Xu Qian was a chatterbox and not socially anxious. Wherever he was, there was no silence.
Before the dishes arrived, he was already chatting with Yu Ji, even asking if Yu Ji’s pheromone smelled nice practically flirting.
By the end, Yu Ji could only nod or shake his head.
Lin Xunye sipped tea, eyes downcast, lost in thought, looking half asleep.
Gu Pei sat opposite him, eyes tracing every inch of Lin Xunye.
This Lin Xunye was different from the one in his memory and the photo Lin’s father gave him.
If the previous Lin Xunye was gloomy, quiet, and introverted, this one was the complete opposite.
Gu Pei liked this tsundere, easily irritable yet surprisingly obedient Lin Xunye more.
But that didn’t mean he disliked the old one.
After dinner, Lin Xunye’s anger doubled.
At the table, Gu Pei did nothing, yet Lin Xunye felt a gaze piercing him.
But whenever he looked up, the gaze disappeared.
After two such rounds, Lin Xunye no longer had the energy to be angry.
What annoyed him more was that after Gu Pei arrived, the earlier mood disturbed by Lin Youjia’s pheromones strangely calmed.
Gu Pei didn’t release any pheromones, just sat there.
Lin Xunye attributed the strange reaction to his glands acting up.
Otherwise, why would he feel comfortable whenever Gu Pei was around?
When everyone finished eating, Lin Xunye put on his hat, hands in pockets, ready to leave, Gu Pei said, “Let’s go get the marriage certificate tomorrow.”
The private room suddenly fell silent enough to hear a pin drop.
Xu Qian’s mouth opened then closed, Li Ye’s movement froze, Yu Ji silently applauded Gu Pei.
Lin Xunye’s fists clenched, veins bulging.
He pulled his hands from his pockets, put a fist on the table. Gu Pei leaned back, hands folded on his lap.
The atmosphere became tense, like dry fireworks touching an unlit lighter whether it sparks was just a moment away.
Yu Ji reacted quickly, pulling the other two out of the room.
They stayed tense for a while, and Lin Xunye finally gave in.
“Do we have to do it tomorrow?” Lin Xunye rubbed his forehead, as if facing a huge problem.
In fact, this was the thing he dreaded most.
Even when he decided to run abroad, it only took him an hour to decide.
Gu Pei opened his folded hands, inside was a tea bag.
Lin Xunye looked at him curiously. Gu Pei said nothing, stood up, took a clean cup, tore open the tea bag wrapper, dropped the bag into the cup, then poured boiling water.
The motion was so natural Lin Xunye blinked.
He really didn’t understand why such long, beautiful hands had to do things like making tea. Better suited for pulling rickshaws.
The tea brewed, and Gu Pei pushed the cup towards Lin Xunye.
Lin Xunye looked up at him, with no intention to thank.
Gu Pei said, “Try it, it’s the same kind you drank at my place last time.”
Lin Xunye said, “Boring.”
Still, he took a sip. It was quite good.
Seeing that he drank it, Gu Pei smiled lightly and sat beside him. “Since you like it, I brought some along.”
Lin Xunye snorted lightly, drinking the rest in one go, raising an eyebrow to retort, “It tastes bad. Don’t bring it next time.”
Gu Pei nodded seriously, didn’t argue, then repeated, “Tomorrow, get the certificate. Don’t forget.”
Lin Xunye’s irritation rose again, along with the aftertaste of the tea. “Hey, weren’t we discussing this?”
“Why did it suddenly become a notice?”
When Lin Xunye got annoyed, his tone went up, his peach blossom eyes opened wider—no intimidation, but it reminded Gu Pei of spring-filled eyes.
He wondered if his dream figure also had such peach blossom eyes.
But Gu Pei remembered nothing.
His heart told him his current choice was right.
Gu Pei exhaled and patiently said, “Didn’t you read the contract carefully?”
Lin Xunye hated beating around the bush. He tapped the cup lightly, half-closed eyes locking onto Gu Pei’s. “Speak clearly, or I’ll hit you.”
His words were domineering but no action followed.
Gu Pei opened his phone and showed the contract to Lin Xunye, highlighting Clause 58.
Lin Xunye was momentarily distracted, feeling he had seen these hands somewhere before.
Before he lost focus longer, Gu Pei’s low voice pulled him back: “Clause 58 clearly states, if the marriage certificate isn’t obtained within one and a half months after signing, Party B is considered in breach of contract and must pay a compensation of five million.”
