The Unmarried Omega Falls into Being a Wife - Chapter 7
Lin Xunye: “”
The Tyrant Clause
Lin Xunye smashed his phone down, pretending to swing it at Gu Pei’s face. Gu Pei didn’t dodge and calmly continued, “Your father has already urged me, but I think it’s better to deal directly with you.”
“After all, we’re the ones getting married. Maybe we’ll have to spend the rest of our lives together.” Gu Pei’s face wore a dignified smile, but his fingertip pressed so hard it turned white.
Since he said that, his heart was pounding wildly almost like he had a heart condition.
His words were perfect, leaving Lin Xunye no way to refute.
Never mind that he didn’t have five million yuan, even if he did, he wouldn’t just hand over the money to Gu Pei.
And who wants to spend their life with him anyway?
Lin Xunye gritted his teeth, glaring at Gu Pei’s calm expression, wishing he could shoot lasers and reduce him to ashes.
So, he wants to get married!
Fine, once we’re married, I’ll watch him like clockwork and see if he can handle it.
Suppressing the urge to punch, Lin Xunye took a deep breath and quickly exhaled, then pretended to be indifferent but bit his teeth and said, “Fine.”
One word, using up all of Lin Xunye’s patience.
If he said one more word, Gu Pei would have panda eyes.
After leaving the hotel, Lin Xunye stood by the road trying to hail a cab.
The driving position overseas is different from back home, and Lin Xunye didn’t want to take any risks; taking a cab was safer.
Xu Qian and Li Ye had already been taken away by Yu Ji. At this moment, only Lin Xunye was standing by the roadside.
Gu Pei came out while Lin Xunye hadn’t caught a cab yet.
It was peak taxi time, and the road was congested. Lin Xunye waited half an hour but still hadn’t gotten a cab.
Just as he was considering walking back to the apartment, a black Maybach pulled up beside him.
Gu Pei rolled down the window. “Get in, I’ll take you back.”
Following the principle that one should never pass up a good deal, Lin Xunye hesitated only for a second before getting in.
Gu Pei drove steadily. Lin Xunye had been busy with calligraphy work and hadn’t slept well, so as soon as he relaxed, he fell asleep all the way.
The car stopped under the apartment two hours later, and Lin Xunye woke up.
He yawned, squinting his eyes halfway open, then was startled by the unfamiliar surroundings and opened them wide.
Was he sold out?
A gentle and steady breath came from the left. Lin Xunye slowly turned his head and saw Gu Pei napping with eyes closed.
Gu Pei’s thick eyelashes, his blue eyes hidden under translucent skin with visible capillaries, his perfectly shaped lips tightly shut all made Lin Xunye involuntarily want to explore.
His mind was a mess. He smacked his forehead hard, regretting why he had such improper thoughts especially about Gu Pei.
This guy, who acted one way on the surface and another behind the scenes, used a tyrant clause to force him into marriage. He deserved to be sent straight to hell to become a pancake.
Though Lin Xunye hadn’t found out about Gu Pei’s “other side” yet, it didn’t stop him from imagining.
Since ancient times, which successful man doesn’t have two faces? Maybe tomorrow they register the marriage, and by the next moment, Gu Pei could be with his mistress.
Thinking this, Lin Xunye shook his head. When he looked again, Gu Pei was looking at him too.
Gu Pei, sleepy-eyed, had a lazy air about him. Lin Xunye felt his ears grow hot under the gaze. Without waiting for Gu Pei to speak, he unbuckled his seatbelt and got out of the car.
Gu Pei rubbed his eyes and looked straight ahead at Lin Xunye’s departing back.
It seemed…
Because it was his first time registering a marriage, Lin Xunye was anxious all night and couldn’t sleep.
Even in the late night, he thought about calling Gu Pei and proudly saying, “No registration tomorrow. I’ll give you five million.”
But he didn’t, because he didn’t have five million.
In the early morning, the more Lin Xunye thought, the more awake he became, so he got up and ran two laps downstairs.
Lin Xunye knew it took fifteen minutes to run one lap, so after four laps, he bumped into Gu Pei—dressed in a suit, head perfectly groomed.
Lin Xunye: “…”
He looked up at the sky; the summer sun rose early. Judging by the sunlight, he estimated it was around four in the morning.
Gu Pei was standing there perfectly dressed. Lin Xunye looked down at his own sweaty sportswear and dirty sneakers.
He grumbled, “Did you come too early or too late?”
Gu Pei smiled at the corner of his eyes, his gaze landing on Lin Xunye’s dark circles, “Just in time.”
Lin Xunye clicked his tongue and, regardless of whether Gu Pei had a place to stay, pocketed his hands and went upstairs.
Steps followed closely, then another set right behind.
Lin Xunye dodged inside, trying to shut the door and keep Gu Pei out.
Gu Pei’s broad and strong palm blocked the door, his blue eyes staring straight at Lin Xunye.
They silently struggled.
Gu Pei’s grip was strong, and Lin Xunye could feel it.
After a while, Lin Xunye gave in.
He loosened his hold, and the door swung open. Gu Pei entered without hesitation and sat on the sofa.
Because they came back late the night before, Lin Xunye hadn’t done any calligraphy, but the unrolled rice paper was still on the table.
Gu Pei scanned the living room and smiled knowingly when he saw a piece of calligraphy.
He understood Lin Xunye a little.
At a young age, Lin Xunye had already become an apprentice to Ge Yan, a rare genius in the calligraphy world. His handwriting was known for its toughness, like a poplar tree bending in the wind but never breaking.
Gu Pei had seen several of his works at exhibitions.
This particular one was the one he had seen the most.
Gu Pei’s timing wasn’t great; Lin Xunye had just finished running and showered, and before leaving the bedroom, he had taken an injection of a suppressant.
Opening the bedroom door, he saw Gu Pei standing in front of one of his calligraphy works.
Lin Xunye stepped lightly over and stood beside him, “Looks good, right? I wrote it.”
Gu Pei held back a smile and agreed, “Not bad, you can tell it’s yours.”
What?
Lin Xunye was puzzled. He wanted to ask more but Gu Pei had already left the room.
Lin Xunye rubbed his half-dry hair irritably and resigned himself to going downstairs.
Standing at the entrance of the civil affairs bureau, Lin Xunye felt unreal.
Was he really getting married?
So sudden.
Actually, Lin Xunye wasn’t completely unprepared; he had long known he would be sold out by his father once and had mentally prepared himself.
But when the day came, he still hesitated.
Seeing him hesitate, Gu Pei stopped and walked back, kindly asking, “Want to pick another day?”
Lin Xunye looked at him twice and said, “Would you make five million if we changed the day?”
“Keep dreaming.”
Lin Xunye stepped over the civil affairs bureau’s threshold.
Gu Pei smiled and shook his head silently, then followed.
“Are you two here to register?” the staff asked from behind the counter.
Lin Xunye nodded, and Gu Pei said yes.
The staff wiped her sweat and pointed to the next counter, “Registration is over there; this side is for divorces.”
Lin Xunye: “Can I get a divorce before getting married?”
The staff broke out in cold sweat again, “Sir, if this is a forced marriage, we can help report it to the police.” Her hand hovered over the phone as if she were about to dial 110 to send Gu Pei away.
Though Lin Xunye didn’t want to marry, he didn’t want to send Gu Pei to jail either.
He turned his toes and went to the other window.
Gu Pei stood behind him, his height 2.03 meters making the staff only see his chest.
Gu Pei bent slightly, apologized with a smile, “My partner likes to joke around, sorry for the trouble.” Then he took out some candy and placed it on the counter. “Thanks.”
Lin Xunye watched him handle the mess gracefully.
He puckered his lips in displeasure such an act.
“Sir, please show your appointment information.”
Lin Xunye stopped his lip-pursing and asked, “What information?”
“Appointment information,” the staff repeated patiently.
Lin Xunye: “None.”
Great, no appointment, maybe they can cancel.
The staff looked like she wanted to explode but then turned cheerful again. Lin Xunye turned to look and bumped straight into someone’s chest.
Gu Pei grabbed his shoulder and steadied him, then spoke briefly with the staff.
Lin Xunye was led to another window.
During this time, he heard nothing clearly; all sounds were muffled except for a dream voice saying, “Brother, I like you.”
Strange, wasn’t it daytime now?
Had he hallucinated?
Only when Gu Pei pressed him into a chair and put a pen in his hand did Lin Xunye come back to reality.
Gu Pei’s smooth and pleasant voice lingered in his ear, “Once you sign, we can take the photo.”
Lin Xunye looked down. The cursed “Application for Marriage Registration” was under his hand!
He closed his eyes, then opened them, adjusted his breathing, and started writing. The pen scraped the paper; after a few strokes, three ugly characters appeared.
Gu Pei had long seen Lin Xunye’s ugly handwriting, so he wasn’t surprised. He took the pen and signed his name gracefully.
Gu Pei’s two characters were neat and elegant, with a touch of casual flair. Lin Xunye looked at his writing, then at his own, and secretly clenched his fist under the table.
Good for you! Come try writing with a brush next time!
After submitting the completed form and related documents, they were guided to the photo area.
Lin Xunye hadn’t dressed up much, wearing a plain white shirt and big shorts. His hair was carefully slicked back into a pompadour.
His earrings were the same pair from when he met Gu Pei he had changed his lip ring to a blue one, the same color as Gu Pei’s eyes.
Compared to Gu Pei’s meticulous appearance, Lin Xunye looked too casual.
For Lin Xunye, just being here was good enough.
Following the staff’s instructions, they sat on the chairs waiting for the photo.
The staff looked confused by how far Lin Xunye stood from Gu Pei, “Young man, stand a bit to the left, you’re about to be out of frame.”
Lin Xunye reluctantly moved, squinting to the right. Gu Pei found it funny and took a step to the right.
This almost made Lin Xunye jump.
Gu Pei kept a perfect distance and whispered so both could hear, “The sooner we finish, the sooner we’re free. You don’t want to be caught as fake married, do you?”
Lin Xunye was about to say, “Aren’t we fake married anyway?” when he saw the staff’s hand hovering over the dial button.
