The Useless Alpha’s Yandere Wife - Chapter 15
“Then you’ll have to coax me!”
Beneath the crimson gauze curtains, two figures intertwined in the night.
Tonight, the Eldest Miss, driven by some unknown impulse, insisted on straddling Jiang Yan and nibbling at her.
Jiang Yan gazed with gentle eyes as Tan Qianyue busied herself on top of her.
At first, Qianyue’s pecking kisses felt merely ticklish, but Jiang Yan dared not laugh, fearing she might actually bite.
As if recalling something, Qianyue slowly learned to suck and nibble, her pink tongue tentatively touching Jiang Yan’s lips.
At this slow, hesitant, and exploratory pace, Jiang Yan nearly dozed off.
Qianyue was puzzled. Jiang Yan kissed her the same way, yet her body remained unresponsive.
After days of effort, when she finally captured Jiang Yan to use as an antidote, she was no longer feverish and weak. Only Jiang Yan’s passionate kisses could gradually release a faint rose fragrance that slowly intensified.
Why, after kissing for so long, did they still feel so “pure and innocent”?
Tan Qianyue shifted slightly, unsure where to start.
A pair of round, full br3asts suddenly came into Jiang Yan’s unobstructed view.
Jiang Yan’s breath caught in her throat, her gaze fixed on those two crimson peaks. Instinctively, she reached out to touch them.
Tan Qianyue’s body stiffened as if struck by lightning. She glanced down at Jiang Yan, whose expression was dazed.
Slap! She slapped Jiang Yan reflexively.
Jiang Yan was stunned. Wasn’t she touching her own wife? What? She hadn’t been harassing someone else’s wife.
“What was that for?” Jiang Yan asked, clutching her cheek and looking hurt.
“I… I… I didn’t mean to,” Tan Qianyue stammered, equally bewildered. She hadn’t intended to hit Jiang Yan. She grabbed her right hand with her left, looking apologetic.
“So, you don’t want me to touch you? You should have said so earlier! I could have left work early!” Jiang Yan drawled lazily, a fake smile playing on her lips as she gazed at the woman straddling her.
“No, that’s not what I meant,” Tan Qianyue said, lowering her head in guilt.
“Then you’ll have to make it up to me!” Jiang Yan said, her innocent-looking face belying the mischievous glint in her eyes as she stared at the beauty wearing only a pink and white bellyband.
“How do I coax you?” Tan Qianyue had a premonition this wouldn’t end well.
Jiang Yan’s eyes darkened slightly as she crooked a finger and beckoned.
Tan Qianyue, her phoenix eyes filled with a hint of confusion, leaned closer to Jiang Yan’s lips.
In an instant, a crimson blush bloomed across her snow-white cheeks.
Within the red gauze curtains, even the candlelight seemed to sway with an ambiguous warmth.
Tan Qianyue’s slender arm draped across Jiang Yan’s shoulder as she sat on her lap.
She tilted her head back to gaze at the patterns on the canopy, while Jiang Yan’s arm circled her willow-thin waist.
Even the fruit at the mountain’s peak seemed to exude the sweet fragrance of roses.
Jiang Yan’s long, loose hair obscured most of her face and movements, making her high, jade-like nose bridge particularly striking.
Tan Qianyue bit her lip, her eyes gradually misting over, the patterns above blurring into indistinct shapes.
It felt as if her very soul were being drawn away, a tingling numbness like a thousand needles pricking her skin.
Beneath the red gauze curtains, the Eldest Miss’s skin glowed with dazzling whiteness, flawless and unreal in its perfection.
Cradled in the brocade blankets, their embrace resembled that of two deeply entwined lovers.
After her unsatisfactory conversation with Prime Minister Tan, Tan Qianyue remained anxious, yet she also told herself she was overthinking things. Surely her mother understood the situation perfectly well. Yet the Prime Minister showed no signs of restraint, instead becoming even busier.
Meanwhile, Tan Qianyue’s aunt was overwhelmed with work due to Her Majesty’s illness. Caught between these conflicting pressures, Qianyue felt utterly lost.
From that day onward, Eldest Miss Tan rarely stayed home. Sometimes she would be out all day, leaving Jiang Yan only a couple of hours with her at night before the Eldest Miss, her radiant face cold and detached, would order her downstairs.
This pattern continued for several days, leaving Jiang Yan increasingly uneasy.
One particularly dull day, Jiang Yan impulsively sought out Zhou Yun and Ming Shu for drinks, finally fulfilling her earlier promise. After all, she needed to repay her social debts.
As she spent more time with them, Jiang Yan realized that while Zhou Yun and her group were reckless and hedonistic, they weren’t truly malicious. They paid the Kunze they frequented at brothels and rarely troubled ordinary citizens with their brawls.
Of course, there were a few irredeemable rotten apples among them, but they held no real influence, serving merely as extra bodies.
Slightly tipsy from the wine, Jiang Yan was immediately taken away by several men who looked like yamen runners as soon as she stepped out of the restaurant.
“Wait! Do you even know who this young lady is?” Ming Shu straightened her back and argued with the tall, burly yamen runners.
“Whoever she is, she has to come with us to Shuntian Prefecture. This is a direct oral decree from the Empress Dowager herself. We wouldn’t dare be careless in carrying out her orders.”
“I’ll go with them first. Please inform Jiang Manor,” Jiang Yan said, looking at Zhou Yun.
“Don’t worry, we’ll go right away,” Zhou Yun nodded.
Lately, Jiang Yan had only provoked one person: that scoundrel Official Wu. But the fact that he could persuade the Empress Dowager to seek justice on his behalf showed he had some influence. Jiang Yan conceded defeat.
When Censor Jiang heard that Jiang Yan had been arrested by Shuntian Prefecture, he rushed to find Prime Minister Tan, only to discover she wasn’t at her residence.
“Master, Master! Bad news! Miss Jiang has been arrested by Shuntian Prefecture. They claim it’s under the Empress Dowager’s orders!” Ying Hong hurried to the teahouse to deliver the news to Tan Qianyue.
“What? Shuntian Prefecture arrested Jiang Yan?” Tan Qianyue’s heart suddenly jolted.
“Yes, it’s been almost a whole afternoon!” Ying Hong said, equally anxious for her mistress.
“I know, don’t panic. Let me think of a way,” Tan Qianyue replied, her expression grave. She couldn’t fathom what Jiang Yan had done to offend the Empress Dowager.
With no other option, she prepared to visit Noble Consort Lin at the palace by carriage.
By the time she arrived, the sun had already set. Tan Qianyue hurried to the Noble Consort’s Jinhua Palace, but because the Consort was busy attending to Her Majesty, she had to wait over two hours before finally seeing her aunt.
“Have you been waiting long?” Noble Consort Lin asked warmly.
“It’s no trouble, Aunt. Attending to Her Majesty is more important. My matter isn’t urgent.” Tan Qianyue felt ashamed for disturbing the Consort during such a busy time.
“Coming so late, something must be wrong?”
“There is. Aunt, Jiang Yan has been detained by the Shuntian Prefecture, supposedly on the Empress Dowager’s orders. Though my Wife-Master holds no official rank, she has never committed any improprieties since our marriage. Why would the Empress Dowager order her arrest?” Tan Qianyue cut to the chase, explaining the situation concisely.
“How could this happen? To arrest my niece’s Wife-Master for no reason? What is the Empress Dowager planning?” Noble Consort Lin was visibly angered. This was no different than slapping her in the face.
“Yunhe, go investigate immediately,” the Noble Consort ordered her trusted palace maid to uncover the truth.
“Go rest for now and wait. It’s already dark; whatever happens will have to wait until tomorrow.”
“Aunt, even after Yunhe returns, Qianyue still needs to go back to Tan Manor. The prison is filled with yin energy; I must rush to send her a thick coat.” Tan Qianyue had no intention of staying in the palace.
“You’re as stubborn as your mother,” Noble Consort Lin sighed, finally relenting. “Fine, take my waist token to leave the palace later. If you want to go, the sooner the better.”
“Thank you, Aunt!”
Tan Qianyue continued to anxiously await Yunhe’s return.
