- Chapter 10 - A'Luo, you've turned bad. I must punish you...
Watching Yun Xiao’s retreating figure, A’Luo’s heart churned with conflicting emotions.
Ever since her Master’s injury caused his cultivation to regress, his personality had undergone a drastic change. He no longer cared about her safety or fatigue, focusing solely on whether she could bring him glory.
When leading Sect disciples on training expeditions, everyone assumed her high cultivation meant she could escape any danger unscathed.
Yet this Demon Cultivator felt guilty for involving her, even going so far as to confront the Heavenly Wave City Lord alone to protect her.
He had even gifted her the coveted Nine Revolutions Golden Lotus, allowing her to enhance her cultivation.
After storing the Golden Lotus, A’Luo deactivated the Defensive Formation and hurried after Yun Xiao.
Before Yun Xiao could speak, she retrieved three Formation Plates and tossed them to him, warning, “Return to the Cold Pool early to refine the Pheromone Suppression Pill.”
With those words, she turned and left abruptly.
Her cultivation was lower than Yun Xiao’s; going with him would only burden him rather than help. It was better to follow his instructions and wait at the Cold Pool for news of his success.
Three days later, Yun Xiao, disguised with a Disguise Pill, appeared in Heavenly Wave City.
Having learned from his previous mistake, he had gathered thorough intelligence en route. The Heavenly Wave City Lord was a rogue cultivator, meaning his assassination would not invite retaliation from any Sect.
Bribing the guards of the City Lord’s Manor with Spirit Stones, Yun Xiao successfully infiltrated the compound.
Avoiding the crowds, she made her way to the main courtyard. Just as she was about to step inside, a stern voice called out from behind her.
“Hey, which courtyard do you belong to? The City Lord is in seclusion. No one is allowed to approach without summons.”
Not wanting to alert anyone, Yun Xiao quickly lowered her head and apologized. “I’m sorry. I’m new here and got lost.”
The guard scrutinized her warily, confirming that she showed no signs of Spiritual Energy fluctuations and posed no threat. He gestured for her to leave immediately.
Yun Xiao nodded in compliance and, under the guard’s watchful gaze, turned into the rear courtyard.
While the main courtyard was off-limits, the other courtyards had fewer restrictions.
After an hour of careful exploration, Yun Xiao finally familiarized herself with the layout of the City Lord’s Manor before nightfall.
As night fell, the manor went into lockdown. Yun Xiao deftly scaled the wall and slipped into the main courtyard.
She had barely taken a few steps when she sensed a formation array concealed within the courtyard.
Fortunately, the array proved no obstacle to her. She bypassed it effortlessly and pushed open the door to the main hall.
It was empty.
Rather than search the entire courtyard, Yun Xiao decided to create a commotion.
Within moments, she detected a probing Divine Sense. She immediately launched a Divine Sense attack.
The City Lord of Heavenly Wave City appeared above the main courtyard, recognizing Yun Xiao by her aura. Gritting his teeth, he snarled, “You vile creature! You dare come here to provoke me? Today, you’ll leave this place in pieces!”
Yun Xiao knew the villain’s downfall often came from excessive talking. Ignoring the City Lord, she immediately attacked.
During the battle, the City Lord quickly realized Yun Xiao had broken through another cultivation stage and her control over Thunder Spiritual Power had grown even stronger.
When high-level cultivators clashed, the surrounding dozens of kilometers would be affected.
Unwilling to see Heavenly Wave City destroyed by their battle, the City Lord lured Yun Xiao outside the city walls.
With no further restraint, he unleashed his full power against her.
Yun Xiao showed no fear, her battle intent burning fiercely. Regardless of criticism, she relentlessly targeted her opponent’s vital points.
The battle raged for three days and three nights. After consuming a Spirit Herb, Yun Xiao summoned a Thunderbolt as thick as a water bucket, striking the City Lord directly.
Having only recovered half his Spiritual Power, the City Lord, despite his desperate resistance, couldn’t avoid further injuries.
He forced himself to stand straight, attempting to negotiate with Yun Xiao. “Cease this battle, and I’ll give you two hundred thousand High-Grade Spirit Stones.”
Yun Xiao retorted instantly, “Kill you, and everything in the City Lord’s Manor becomes mine.”
Refusing to waste any more time, she summoned a rainstorm with one hand while channeling another water bucket-sized Thunderbolt with the other, striking the City Lord again.
With the rain amplifying the Thunder’s power to its maximum, the City Lord coughed up dark bl00d.
Seizing the opportunity while the City Lord was weakened, Yun Xiao expertly shattered his fleeing Nascent Soul into dust.
Returning to the City Lord’s Manor, she grabbed a guard at random and located the manor’s treasury. She swept everything—usable or not—into her Storage Pouch.
Knowing it was unwise to linger, she tossed out the Flying Spirit Tool A’Luo had given her and departed Heavenly Wave City.
A’Luo, already back at the Cold Pool, immersed herself in its icy waters to refine the Nine Revolutions Golden Lotus.
Had she not known her true identity as a Nine-Tailed Fox, she would never have consumed the lotus directly. Human Cultivators lack the robust constitution of Demon Cultivators; directly consuming the lotus would prevent them from fully absorbing its medicinal properties, requiring it to be refined into pills first.
After seven days of continuous refinement, A’Luo completely absorbed the lotus. Her Divine Sense now rivaled that of a Divine Transformation Stage cultivator, and her cultivation advanced slightly, reaching the late Nascent Soul stage.
“A’Luo, I’m back.”
It was Yun Xiao’s voice.
A’Luo quickly changed into her Magic Robe, cast a Dust Cleansing Spell, and hurried to greet her.
“A’Luo, we haven’t seen each other for over half a month. Did you miss me?” Yun Xiao asked without waiting for a reply. “I missed you. I was worried about how you’d manage your Heat Period.”
A’Luo paused, then replied, “It was manageable.”
Before they parted, Yun Xiao had frequently clung to her for pleasure, though her physical desires were no longer as intense as they had been at the beginning.
With the Cold Pool nearby, these past few days hadn’t been too unbearable.
Yun Xiao pouted, pulling A’Luo onto a large rock beside her. “You wouldn’t believe it,” she grumbled, “fighting that old geezer, I had to split my focus to suppress my Heat Period urges. If I hadn’t wounded him earlier, I wouldn’t have gotten away so easily this time.”
This wasn’t A’Luo’s first Heat Period; she knew all too well how agonizing it could be.
Even concentrating solely on suppressing it was difficult enough, let alone trying to fight a Divine Transformation Stage cultivator at the same time.
She turned to face Yun Xiao, their eyes meeting. Whether it was Yun Xiao’s burning gaze or the scorching sun, she felt a sudden heat, her heart racing slightly.
This unfamiliar sensation startled her. She hastily looked away, her voice softening. “Where were you injured? Is it serious?”
Yun Xiao’s eyes darted around before she pointed to her chest, mixing truth with exaggeration. “Here. The old geezer’s sword pierced me right here.”
A’Luo retrieved a bottle of pills and handed it to Yun Xiao. “This is a Fifth-Grade Spring Return Pill. It will help your wound heal.”
Yun Xiao shook her head. “Even with the pills, it still hurts,” she said, seizing the opportunity to make her request. “Why don’t you blow on it for me?”
Afraid A’Luo would see through her intentions, she quickly added, “I saw children in the Mortal Realm get hurt, and when someone blew on their wounds, it stopped hurting.”
A’Luo frowned, puzzled. What kind of logic is that?
Turning her head, A’Luo noticed Yun Xiao’s evasive gaze and immediately realized she was being tricked.
Unaware that her little scheme had been exposed, Yun Xiao wrapped her arms around A’Luo’s arm and gently swayed, pleading, “A’Luo, please help me.”
In recent days, she had truly missed A’Luo, longing for intimacy and closeness. Now that they were finally together, she was determined to make her desires a reality.
Unfortunately, A’Luo was only ever passionate in bed, remaining cold and distant otherwise.
The refusal that had been on A’Luo’s lips vanished as she swallowed it back, faced with Yun Xiao’s pleading. She said stiffly, “Take off your Magic Robe.”
Yun Xiao’s peach-blossom eyes widened. This directness from A’Luo felt so unfamiliar.
“W-why don’t we go back to the Cave Abode?” she suggested.
“Why weren’t you shy on the Flying Spirit Tool?” A’Luo chuckled, amused by Yun Xiao’s awkwardness. “It seems you’ve forgotten who tricked me into blowing on your wound in the first place.”
Having already agreed, Yun Xiao suddenly felt embarrassed.
Exposed, she stubbornly retorted, “Who, who’s embarrassed? I’ve shown you every part of my body, you’ve touched me everywhere. It’s just being honest with each other. I can handle it.” As she spoke, her hand moved to her waistband.
A’Luo quietly watched Yun Xiao, curious to see how long it would take her to remove her Magic Robe.
As Yun Xiao had said, they had already done the most intimate things imaginable. Yet now, when all she had to do was take off her clothes, Yun Xiao was suddenly struggling.
Yun Xiao slowly untied her waistband, revealing her chest.
Her ears and cheeks burned as she avoided A’Luo’s gaze.
A’Luo was now certain: Yun Xiao was all talk. When it came to action, she became coy and… rather adorable.
Flushed crimson under A’Luo’s gaze, Yun Xiao tackled her in a fit of mortified anger, accusing, “A’Luo, you’ve become wicked! I’m going to punish you.”
A’Luo challenged, “Can you even manage that?”
Yun Xiao puffed up her cheeks and retorted, “I can.”
No longer suppressing her desire, she leaned down and kissed A’Luo’s throat.
A’Luo’s shallow, rapid breaths brushed against her skin, sending a tingling, electric sensation through her body.
Yun Xiao covered A’Luo’s eyes with her hand, gently bit A’Luo’s lower lip, and then patiently covered her, silently declaring this territory hers.
A’Luo regretted provoking Yun Xiao. The aroused Yun Xiao was exceptionally fierce, tossing her around repeatedly until she was exhausted. Not content with that, she pulled out a dual cultivation manual and dragged A’Luo into practicing it.
Meanwhile, at the Heavenly Evolution Sect:
Xie Yunfan, having emerged from seclusion, stopped a male disciple and asked, “What were you just saying?”
The disciple, unwilling to conceal anything, bowed respectfully. “Greetings, Junior Martial Ancestor. The news has spread throughout the mountain: the City Lord of Heavenly Wave City was killed by a Demon Cultivator who wields thunder.”
Xie Yunfan pressed, “What was the Demon Cultivator’s cultivation level?”
“Apparently, lower than the City Lord’s. Oh, and the Demon Cultivator also stole the Nine Revolutions Golden Lotus. Any cultivator who tried to claim a share died at the Demon Cultivator’s hands. There was also a female cultivator traveling with the Demon Cultivator, with a mid-Nascent Soul cultivation level.”
Xie Yunfan mentally asked Old Qiu in his Sea of Consciousness, “Old Qiu, what do you think?”
“Demon Cultivators who wield thunder are rare. It’s worth investigating.”
“Does the Jade Flood Dragon truly possess the Mind Nourishing Ganoderma I need?”
“Even if it doesn’t have the Ganoderma, it has plenty of high-grade spirit herbs. You won’t lose out either way.”
