- Chapter 11 - Artificial Respiration for the Demon Girl Final Boss
In this life, my guiding principle is simple: “Live so I could die satisfied today.” I don’t want to be clinging to regrets when the protagonist finally kills me. That’s why I spent all my money by morning—partying hard in nightlife joints and splurging like there was no tomorrow.
At first, people were terrified because I’m part of the Dark God Cliffoth’s bloodline. But once I flashed some gold, they warmed up fast and started treating me like a VIP. There weren’t any girls who caught my interest, so I didn’t bring anyone home.
Still… it’s scary how easily people change when money’s involved. The power of cash is something else.
Maybe it was also because that uptight noble—the lord of this territory—ran off in the night. When I saw Master Cain the next morning, he looked mildly annoyed.
“What a shame. That household had a lot of valuable artwork. I was hoping to buy it all cheap,”
he muttered.
Oh, and while passing by the guild earlier, I saw that pig-faced merchant getting dragged away by someone important. No clue what happened to him afterward. When I asked Master Cain, who had just witnessed the collapse of the merchant guild, “Think his organs would fetch a good price?” he actually gave it serious thought.
“There’s a risk in developing that route from scratch, but… maybe,”
he replied. This guy was even more money-hungry than the pig merchant.
Still, yesterday really had it all. Honestly, the more intense it gets, the more fun it is.
Weirdly enough, I’m starting to look forward to moving to Antenne. Sure, it’s nerve-racking to live near the protagonist, but the location itself isn’t bad.
Honestly, Ethica seems like a great girl. That strong yet adorable smile, and the soft, pale skin just above the gap between her skirt and knee-high socks… I can feel myself slowly craving to touch her.
If I could make someone like her my girlfriend, I’d die a happy man.
But… using Dark God Magic: Apple to make her obey me? That would be going too far. She’s not the kind of girl you treat like that.
“Still, since I’ve been reincarnated in another world, I want to be surrounded by cute maids and do naughty things every night before I die!”
Ahem. Pardon me. Running on no sleep and riding a high. No one’s listening anyway—so it’s fine!
If I’m going to have the finest mansion in Antenne, then I have to return in glory with the finest maid corps. There’s no way I’m letting that dream go.
If I’m being honest about my preferences, I’d want beastkin cat-eared girls—ones with a humble background. They’d cook with genuine care every day, worry about me with motherly affection, and when the time is right, slowly take off their maid uniforms in bed, blushing all the while… I’d love to have ten of them.
Maybe I should’ve bought a girl from that place earlier. But none of them were really my type.
“Yeah, all things considered, not bringing a girl to a place like this was the right call.”
While thinking that, I reached my dreary old mansion. Just stepping onto the property made me feel cursed. I seriously need to move to Antenne—without my father, Gregor.
“…Did the atmosphere get worse since yesterday?”
As I stepped through the front door, I felt a chill that made my skin crawl—like a vengeful spirit was lurking inside. The temperature hadn’t changed since yesterday, but there was something spiritually off.
Also, there were fresh wheel tracks in the garden that weren’t there yesterday. Clearly something had been brought in. From the marks carved into the muddy ground by last night’s rain, it must’ve arrived in the dead of night.
In the hallway, I noticed footprints smaller than either mine or my father’s. Whatever was brought in was either a person… or something close.
The footprints led to the basement. I could hear something down there.
I opened the basement door.
“The forbidden book… it’s almost back…!! Haha, hahaha, hahahaha…”
It was my father’s voice, distorted and unhinged. A bl00d-red magic circle lay before him, surrounded by scraps of paper. Could those be the remains of the forbidden tome?
But that book no longer had any sealed power—not after I used it to draw out Dark God Magic: Apple.
“…Ugh.”
I stepped closer—and froze.
There was a naked girl lying on the table. Bl00d poured from her body—enough to be fatal. Her carotid artery had just been slashed, and it was still spurting.
Her pale skin twitched slightly, likely from massive bl00d loss. Her lips were turning blue. That provocative position, paired with her half-lidded gaze and bl00d-soaked body, made her appear eerily sensual.
Then I realized—I knew her.
“Sophie…!?”
A heroine—or depending on the route, a final boss. A true trickster figure. The horns on her head and bat-like wings marked her as a demon. With succubus bl00d in her veins, she had a perfect mix of innocence and beauty.
The Demon Race—once said to have brought disaster upon the world alongside the Dark God Cliffoth. Even now, they’re seen as enemies of mankind, and tensions run deep.
Yet even among demons, Sophie had always been persecuted for various reasons. Eventually, she met the wielder of Dark God Magic: Apple and became a monster who brought ruin to both humanity and her own kind.
Due to that backstory, her fate changes depending on the story—sometimes she sides with the protagonist and becomes a heroine, sometimes she hates the world and ends up the final boss, and sometimes she’s already dead before the story even begins.
Still, even if she’s tied to the dark magic, she was never supposed to have any connection to me in the game. Could there have been a hidden backstory involving the Leipnitz family?
“Nngh… Nnngh…”
Sophie twitched again. Seeing the last embers of life in this innocent thirteen-year-old girl, I instinctively rushed forward.
“Starbind: Black Hollow Down!”
Before Gregor could utter another word, I slammed him into the stone floor with a gravity spell.
“Gwaaaaah!?”
While Gregor was restrained, I ran to Sophie’s side.
My body moved on its own—not because of brainwashing or some fantasy trope, but out of pure instinct.
Even though I knew she couldn’t be saved. Even though Gregor’s madness was nothing new.
“…”
“…Too late, huh.”
I’ve never witnessed death firsthand in my previous life, but somehow I could tell. These weren’t the spasms of someone who could be saved. Her eyelids were wide open in pain, her pupils fully dilated, and no breath escaped her bloodied lips. Naked, completely exposed, she could only lie there trembling faintly, unable even to cover herself.
She had already lost far too much bl00d.
Well, depending on the route, she was dead before the story even began. Maybe this tragic end was always her fate.
…
…
“Starbind.”
I focused gravitational force on a single point—her heart. Her stopped heart… I pressed on it again and again like a pump.
But no matter how many times I checked, Sophie continued to stare into the void. She wasn’t breathing. Of course—just thinking for a second, I realized something obvious. There was no bl00d left to circulate. A heart massage wouldn’t help now.
Damn it… I know she can’t be saved… and yet…
At the same time, I began performing artificial respiration.
I pressed my lips against her bl00d-stained ones. As I blew air into her lungs, her stomach gently rose. Seems those CPR lessons I took at the licensing center before I died in my past life were finally coming in handy.
Still, no matter what I did—
“Hm?”
Suddenly, it happened.
Between our lips, a black magic circle formed in midair.
The next moment, Sophie’s body began to shimmer in a faint iridescence. My own body did the same. When the glow finally faded, identical black markings appeared on both our right hands.
That faintly halved sigil—I recognized it.
“No way… Did she become a half-familiar!?”
In the game, there were instances where the wielder of Dark God Magic: Apple had female demon familiars. But I never knew how the actual contract was formed. So I had no idea why it triggered now.
Especially not why it resulted in a half-familiar bond instead of a full one.
“Nngh… gh—!”
Suddenly, Sophie’s body arched back on its own. That amount of bl00d loss should’ve made survival impossible.
“Gah—koff… ngh…”
But watching her sob and cough made me certain—she was alive.
It must have been the power of the Dark God Cliffoth. That magical energy had acted as a catalyst and pulled her back from the brink.
Her pale lips began to regain color.
Life returned to her eyes.
“…Thank God.”
I murmured as I reached for a nearby cloth.
“Transmutation Array: Glass Shoes.”
The dark matter activated on the fabric. Using the same technique I used for gravity manipulation, I altered the cloth—this time enlarging it.
I used the now-expanded cloth to wrap her body. I didn’t know how long I could keep my composure if she stayed completely exposed—especially with curves like that, not to mention how she was easily a hundred times cuter than any of the girls from the shop.
“…Monad… you…”
Despite the damage I’d done to him—breaking several bones, no doubt—Gregor stood back up. Was the madness dulling his sense of pain?
Now what?
This… this wasn’t a development I was prepared for. I never imagined my father would become the enemy.
