- Chapter 14 - Does Bai Fenghua Have Some Kind of Perverted Fetish...?
Does Bai Fenghuo have some kind of twisted fetish…?
Yun Chuanzhi froze for a moment, wondering why Bai Fenghuo was on Mount Everlasting’s main peak. Given her illness today, she should have been resting in bed.
But she quickly realized something was wrong. As Bai Fenghuo appeared, the surrounding clamor vanished, replaced by the gentle, flowing music of a stream. Her ears were suddenly filled with tranquility.
Wait, why is she at Spring Encounter Pavilion?!
Still in a dodging posture, Yun Chuanzhi lost her footing and collapsed to the ground with a thud. The pain made her nose wrinkle, and tears welled in the corners of her eyes.
“Sect… Sect Leader,” she greeted, sucking in a breath as she looked up at Bai Fenghuo, who stood towering over her.
“As my personal Immortal Servant, you should be attending to me at all times. Where have you been?” Bai Fenghuo cradled a snow-white creature in her arms, stroking it slowly with her fingertips. Though her face was pale and listless, her deep voice sent a chill down Yun Chuanzhi’s spine.
Didn’t she say I didn’t need to serve her today? This woman changes her mind faster than flipping a page.
So this was the consequence of “not delaying,” as Ling Shui had warned. Bai Fenghuo had summoned her here on a whim, without regard for whether the Immortal Servants were changing clothes or bathing.
How utterly domineering, Yun Chuanzhi thought inwardly.
“Since this lord has yet to punish you, you truly believe you can deceive me?” Bai Fenghuo leaned slightly forward, her noble posture unwavering, and regarded Yun Chuanzhi as if she were some mere insect. “It seems a little discipline is necessary to teach you proper behavior.”
“Whitey, fetch my long whip,” Bai Fenghuo instructed, covering her mouth as she spoke.
The Iron Puppet Yun Chuanzhi had seen before materialized from nowhere, clutching a gleaming silver whip in both hands. It climbed onto the table and held the whip aloft, presenting it to Bai Fenghuo.
The whip cracked through the air with a sharp snap, the wind itself trembling at its passage. Bai Fenghuo gripped the whip’s handle without deigning to lower her head. “Kneel.”
This is it, Yun Chuanzhi thought, her heart clenching. Her frail body wouldn’t withstand such a beating—the whip looked capable of shattering stone. Could this be a death sentence?
Does Bai Fenghuo have some twisted fetish?
As the whip coiled, poised to strike, Yun Chuanzhi mentally braced herself. She forced tears to well in her eyes, then lunged forward, dropping to her knees at Bai Fenghuo’s feet.
Clasping Bai Fenghuo’s knees, she sobbed miserably, “Sect Leader, this lowly servant knows she was wrong. Please, Sect Leader, show your magnanimity and forgive me.”
Her sudden capitulation caught Bai Fenghuo off guard. The long whip fell limply to the ground as she recoiled in disgust. “Didn’t this lord make it clear? You are forbidden to touch me without permission.”
“Not even my robes,” Bai Fenghuo added, shaking out her skirt. “Furthermore, no more weeping before me. The sight is utterly nauseating.”
Under the eaves, one must adapt to survive. Having learned from her previous ordeal, Yun Chuanzhi’s performance had improved. Recalling the delicate beauties she had seen in her mind, she braced herself with one hand on the ground while dabbing at her tears with the fingertips of her other hand.
But feigned tears alone wouldn’t solve the problem. Bai Fenghuo was hardly the type to pity a damsel in distress, and Yun Chuanzhi herself was far from being a delicate flower. The fact that Bai Fenghuo hadn’t struck her likely stemmed from her disdain for her unsightly weeping, not any reluctance to approach her.
As Yun Chuanzhi’s mind raced, a plan suddenly formed. She spoke through her sobs, “Sect Leader, this lowly servant is not one to cry easily. It’s just that those people from Mount Everlasting… they disrespected you.”
“They knew I was your Immortal Servant, Sect Leader, and they mocked and bullied me relentlessly. I couldn’t bear it any longer, so I acted as I did.”
Yun Chuanzhi sobbed, covering her face with her hands, but peeked through her fingers at Bai Fenghuo. As expected, Bai Fenghuo lowered the whip she had raised moments before.
“Is that true?” Bai Fenghuo’s dark brows furrowed, casting shadows across her forehead in the sunlight.
“Those insignificant whelps, whoever they belong to, dare to cross me?” Bai Fenghuo tossed the whip aside without waiting for Yun Chuanzhi’s reply and strode to her side, gripping Yun Chuanzhi’s collar through her sleeve.
A cold smile curled her lips. “Where are they? Take me there. As for you, I’ll punish you when we return.”
Bai Fenghuo’s refusal to suffer even the slightest slight was well-known. Yet the prospect of beating those fools into a pulp was undeniably appealing.
Yun Chuanzhi lowered her head, concealing her eyes, and murmured a meek “Yes.”
Bai Fenghuo’s Wind Manipulation Technique far surpassed Cheng Jinshu’s by a hundredfold. The transition was seamless; in the blink of an eye, they had traversed the Hundred-Zhang Cascade and ascended Mount Everlasting. Had it not been for the thin layer of dampness clinging to their robes, Yun Chuanzhi would have sworn they hadn’t moved at all.
In One-Pillow Garden beside Bright Existence Hall on Mount Everlasting, the woman, outnumbered and overpowered, remained pinned to the ground by several young Immortal Cultivators. Though physically outmatched, her tongue remained sharp, her scathing words turning Li Tang’s face livid, her fists clenched so tightly they nearly burst.
“Eldest Senior Sister truly sets a fine example for us Immortal Cultivators,” Li Tang sneered, her voice dripping with venom. “Not only did she betray our kind by aiding demons, but she also risked everything to help a lowly slave escape.” She gritted her teeth. “Since that’s the case, today this junior brother will act in the Sect Leader’s stead and teach my dear Senior Sister a lesson!”
With a wave of her hand, she dispersed the crowd. The silver blade of her sword flashed blindingly in the sunlight, splitting into a dense array of countless blades that streaked toward Cheng Jinshu like a meteor shower.
Cheng Jinshu raised her iron staff to defend herself, the dark metal whirling into a shield that clashed against the sword array with a cacophony of ringing strikes. Her staff techniques were impeccable, but her spiritual energy was insufficient. Though she blocked the attacks, she couldn’t withstand the sword qi, which soon struck her shoulder, sending her staggering backward.
Amidst the jeering laughter, a murderous glint flashed in Li Tang’s eyes. Her body dissolved into a stream of energy, transforming into a living blade. She twisted and dodged Cheng Jinshu’s staff, then lunged forward, her fist aimed at her heart.
Cheng Jinshu closed her eyes in despair. But in the next instant, a brilliant, dazzling purple light erupted before her, eclipsing even the midday sun.
The light engulfed Li Tang’s body, instantly enveloping her in a viscous liquid. Her spiritual energy and physical strength were stripped away in an instant, and a blow like a heavy fist struck her chest. After a pained cry, she collapsed backward into the flowerbed, limbs splayed.
“Who dares to act so brazenly on Mount Everlasting…?” She clutched her chest, rolling through the flowers, her face and hair smeared with sap and petals. Then, an overwhelming pressure descended like a crushing weight, accompanied by scorching sunlight, instantly silencing him.
“It is I. What of it?” A woman’s voice, gentle yet resonant, echoed from the heavens. Her boundless spiritual energy amplified the sound, making it ring in every ear present. The assembled crowd felt their limbs go numb, trembling as they knelt to the ground.
Cheng Jinshu’s strength also drained away. She barely managed to steady herself with her staff, glancing upward. A figure as radiant as a purple dawn had materialized in mid-air, descending gracefully on a cloud.
“G-Auntie?” Cheng Jinshu’s eyes widened in shock, her legs weakening as she instinctively recoiled. Then she spotted Yun Chuanzhi dangling in Bai Fenghuo’s hand and shouted, “Liu Dagou, you’ve been captured by my auntie?!”
“Liu Dagou?” Bai Fenghuo glanced oddly at Yun Chuanzhi. The woman dared not meet her gaze, instead lowering her head and shrinking her neck, feigning death.
After landing, Bai Fenghuo tossed Yun Chuanzhi aside. Cheng Jinshu immediately shouted, “You short-lived Immortal Servant! Get over here now! Are you trying to get yourself killed?!”
As she spoke, she warily eyed Bai Fenghuo, convinced she would casually snap Yun Chuanzhi’s neck with one hand. Bai Fenghuo glanced at her and muttered, “Still as noisy as ever,” before silencing her with a wave of her hand.
With the surroundings finally quiet, Bai Fenghuo approached Li Tang, who lay pale and trembling among the flowers. She casually snatched the iron rod from Cheng Jinshu’s hand and used it to prod and poke Li Tang around.
The seven-foot-tall Li Tang seemed to shrink into a helpless worm under Bai Fenghuo’s touch, writhing under the rod’s prodding. Bai Fenghuo pinched her nose and demanded, “So, you’re the one who dared to insult me in public?”
Everyone on Mount Everlasting knew Bai Fenghuo’s infamous reputation, and they fell into a terrified silence. Li Tang was particularly terrified, her soul nearly fleeing her body. She lay on the ground, whimpering and struggling to speak, but no sound escaped her lips.
“No answer? I’ll take that as a confession,” Bai Fenghuo said, waving her jade-like hand dismissively. “A pathetic wretch who hasn’t even reached the Transformation God realm dares to speak ill of me?”
Whether from fear or desperation, tears streamed down Li Tang’s face.
“You didn’t let me speak!” Li Tang pointed at her mouth, her muffled cries growing louder and louder. She scrambled to her feet and kowtowed before Bai Fenghuo.
“Enough with the racket,” Bai Fenghuo said, tossing the iron rod aside. As it clattered to the ground, a bolt of purple light pierced Li Tang’s heart.
He fell silent instantly, her eyes widening in disbelief as she stared ahead before collapsing limply to the ground.
“Out of respect for your Master, I’ll spare your life today,” Bai Fenghuo said, turning away. “But I’ll cripple your cultivation to teach you a lesson you won’t forget.” Her flowing robes swept across the grass like water, leaving no trace behind.
The ease with which she had crippled a cultivator’s cultivation left the onlookers breathless. They didn’t dare exhale until Bai Fenghuo barked, “Get lost!” Only then did they drag Li Tang’s limp body away, fleeing for their lives.
Yun Chuanzhi felt a pang of dread at the scene. As expected of Bai Fenghuo—truly vindictive, she thought, retreating into the bushes while rubbing the goosebumps on her arm.
“As for you,” Bai Fenghuo said, turning to face Yun Chuanzhi. “You…”
“Aunt!” Cheng Jinshu suddenly broke free from her restraints and shouted, stumbling forward to block Yun Chuanzhi. “You can’t slaughter innocents on Mount Everlasting! My Master is currently in Bright Existence Hall discussing the Dao with the other Venerables—she’ll be out soon!”
“You little slave! My aunt is notorious for killing without blinking an eye! If you don’t run now, when will you?” Cheng Jinshu raised her hand to summon back her iron staff, turning her head to shout sharply.
Yun Chuanzhi had never encountered such a passionate person before. A pang of shame stirred within her. She reached out to tug at Cheng Jinshu’s sleeve, but the other woman raised her iron staff defensively, blurting out Yun Chuanzhi’s secret for all to hear.
“Liu Dagou, I, Cheng Jinshu, brought you here today to awaken your Spirit Root! Otherwise, you wouldn’t have been bullied by those people because of your Slave Status. Your life shouldn’t be taken so lightly! Run!”
Cheng Jinshu had even filled in all the details perfectly. How utterly grateful I should be, Yun Chuanzhi thought bitterly, her vision darkening.
“Awaken your Spirit Root?” Bai Fenghuo smiled, her willow-leaf eyes reflecting the lush green shadows of the trees, her red lips curving into a graceful arc. “Is that so, Liu Dagou?”
“Yes, Sect Leader…” Yun Chuanzhi’s knees had gone weak, and she knelt naturally.
This is it. Not only will I not escape the whipping, but I’ll lose my life too.
With a flick of her sleeve, Bai Fenghuo silenced the incessant Cheng Jinshu. She approached Yun Chuanzhi, her purple robes shimmering with flowing light in Yun Chuanzhi’s lowered gaze.
Yun Chuanzhi closed her eyes, feeling the warmth of Bai Fenghuo’s hand touch the crown of her head, then slowly slide down her neck. The sensation of impending death sent goosebumps prickling across her skin.
In the next instant, Bai Fenghuo lifted her up like a chick, carrying her all the way to the four blocks of millennia-old ice before finally setting her down.
Yun Chuanzhi stumbled to her feet and looked up. Bai Fenghuo was wiping her hands with a handkerchief, her long lashes shielding her eyes from the sunlight as she spoke casually.
“Do you really think this venerable one can’t tell when you’re lying? I’m simply too tired today to bother with you.”
“Only this venerable one may punish those within my sect. These vermin dared to bully my people, and that cannot be tolerated. That’s why I came to defend you this time. But you still need to take your whipping. Don’t even think about escaping.”
As she spoke, Bai Fenghuo’s palm, still covered by the handkerchief, pressed against Yun Chuanzhi’s face. She pinched the girl’s cheek hard, forcing her to stand on tiptoe to meet her gaze. Yun Chuanzhi’s slender face flushed crimson, and tears welled up in her dark eyes from the pain.
“I’ve lived for a century, and I’ve never seen anyone break the seal left by my Master with my own eyes. Since you want to try, I’ll let you try.”
“But if you fail to break it, the whipping will be the least of your worries,” she added with a smile.
