- Chapter 10 - She's a Beast!
The ordeal dragged on until the dead of night.
Yu Chi Lan’s medicine was potent and long-lasting.
The two women went at it dozens of times. Ling Jun grew numb from Guan Qigui’s relentless kisses, her insatiable demands driving Ling Jun to bite her lower lip in frustration.
Even so, Guan Qigui refused to let her go. When that tactic failed, Ling Jun’s tears ran dry, her voice hoarse from screaming. Unable to cry or resist, she was left utterly at her mercy.
Though their relationship had previously seemed devoid of affection, this encounter had now plunged their connection into negative territory, leaving Ling Jun utterly overwhelmed.
In all her years, both past and present, this was her first time—her first time being taken by another woman! While the details were too embarrassing to recount, it was undeniable that she had experienced a pleasure and soul-shaking ecstasy she had never known before.
Ling Jun could sense that this was Guan Qigui’s first time as well, but why was the difference so stark? Guan Qigui could pin her down, ravishing her until she was on the verge of collapse, yet Ling Jun couldn’t even manage to overpower her!
Several times, Ling Jun, determined not to be taken advantage of, tried to push back. But before she could even steady herself, Guan Qigui would pin her down again.
Whatever martial arts Guan Qigui practiced, her stamina seemed inexhaustible. It was Ling Jun who suffered most—her lower body burned with pain, and she knew without looking that she was swollen and raw.
Guan Qigui watched the peaceful figure sleeping beside her, gritted her teeth, and kicked her. When Ling Jun merely frowned slightly but remained sound asleep, Guan Qigui bit hard into her collarbone, leaving a clear ring of teeth marks.
“Mmm…” Ling Jun murmured softly, like a spoiled child, and turned her back to Guan Qigui, sinking deeper into slumber.
Seeing the smooth, delicate skin of Ling Jun’s back covered in scratches, Guan Qigui felt too ashamed to touch her again. She pressed close, inhaling the intoxicating woody white tea scent, and drifted off to sleep with a lingering resentment.
As dawn broke, Guan Qigui, accustomed to waking early, stirred before opening her eyes. Her entire body ached as if she’d fought a hundred rounds. When she finally opened her eyes, her mind froze. Before her lay Ling Jun’s exquisite face, and… a sea of white! They were sleeping in a close embrace, and Guan Qigui herself was completely naked.
Boom!
The decisive Guan Qigui felt as if her soul had been ripped from her body. Recalling the events of the previous day and seeing the abundant marks on Ling Jun’s body, she nearly slapped herself. I’m truly a monster!
Carefully withdrawing her arm, Guan Qigui slowly climbed out of bed. She grabbed a simple inner robe from Ling Jun’s wardrobe, slipped it on, turned back to tuck the quilt around Ling Jun, lowered the bed curtains, and went to the window. “Black Hawk,” she called softly.
Guan Qigui was startled to realize her voice was hoarse. Her crimson lips pressed tightly together, the tips of her ears flushed red as the images from her mind refused to fade.
Black Hawk appeared at the window, his back turned. The crimson flush on his ear tips betrayed his own inner turmoil.
“Bring me a set of clothes—a complete set,” she ordered.
Black Hawk’s ears reddened further, his admiration growing.
The courtyard’s tranquility shattered as the door burst open. Xiao Mei, who had spent the night on the ground outside, jolted awake. She glanced groggily at Guan Qigui, whose crimson lips were pressed tightly together, then lowered her head, her face flushing crimson as she dared not look again.
“Fetch a tub of bathwater,” Guan Qigui said, turning back into the room without looking back. “We haven’t bathed yet.”
Xiao Mei hurried to summon Sister Anxin from the neighboring courtyard for help.
After the bathwater was prepared and the door closed, Guan Qigui fell silent again. What should I do? Should I bathe first?
The room filled with steam. Guan Qigui glanced back and exhaled deeply. Thank goodness she’s still asleep. I don’t know how I’d face her if she woke up.
Lotus arms and a smooth back, warm water fragrant, a beauty lies in shallow slumber.
As Guan Qigui lifted her arm, water splashed. Ling Jun opened her eyes to see a blurry figure stirring the water. Remembering the previous day, she bit her lip, unsure how to bring it up. How can two women take responsibility? But if I let it go, I’ll really be at a loss. I was pinned down all day, my back aches, my legs are sore, and I’m still swollen.
Ling Jun rose on tiptoe, intending to put on her inner robe. She had just steadied herself and turned toward the wardrobe when her foot slipped on a piece of Shu embroidery lying on the floor. She stumbled, lost her balance, and fell heavily to the ground.
“Ouch…” Ling Jun winced, certain her backside had taken the brunt of the fall. It wasn’t that she was clumsy; her legs were simply trembling too violently.
Guan Qigui, who was soaking in the bath, turned at the sound, her gaze fixed on Ling Jun with concern. “Did I wake you?”
Ling Jun bared her teeth, glaring fiercely at Guan Qigui. Then, remembering she was completely naked, she hastily crossed her arms over her chest, her face flushing crimson. “What are you staring at?!”
“It’s not like I haven’t seen it before…” Guan Qigui’s ears flushed slightly, her expression wavering as her heart raced.
“You lecher! You flower thief! Hurry up and help Lian Chen up!” Ling Jun’s voice was soft and coquettish, still hoarse from shouting the previous day. But she couldn’t stay on the floor forever, and Guan Qigui was right there to lend a hand.
“I… I’m not wearing any clothes…” Guan Qigui shrank deeper into the bath, afraid to come out.
“And what about me? It’s all your fault my legs are shaking so badly I can’t even stand up!” Ling Jun now resembled a wronged woman, clinging to the edge of the bed as she tried to rise. But before she could steady herself, her legs gave way, and she collapsed back onto the floor.
Seeing this, Guan Qigui had no choice but to rise from the bath and lift Ling Jun into the tub with her.
They sat facing each other in the cramped tub, barely large enough for two. Guan Qigui had to curl her long legs forward, and no matter how Ling Jun shifted, she kept pressing against her. Giving up on teasing, Ling Jun quipped, “I’ve often heard This Guan’s beauty rivals Pan An’s, her physique resembles a flying fish, with mantis legs and a wasp’s waist. Now I’ve finally experienced it firsthand.”
“I’m sorry…” Guan Qigui gazed at the bruises and marks on Ling Jun’s body, guilt rising within her as she remembered the woman’s forced walk.
“What’s done is done. Let’s move on. You weren’t in control either. I… understand.” What else could she do? If Guan Qigui grew displeased, she might simply kill her. Ling Jun’s dark eyes stared straight at her, knowing she hadn’t lost out in this exchange. The bite marks on Guan Qigui’s body would take days to fade.
“Ling Jun, I… I’ll take responsibility.” Guan Qigui thought she could simply marry Ling Jun and care for her for life. But what could she offer? A mere tributary prince? A Lu Kingdom princess who couldn’t even show her face in public? Her fists clenched tightly at her sides, as if battling something within herself—her mother, her nation, the world’s conventions.
To be honest, Guan Qigui didn’t dislike Ling Jun; she even felt a certain fondness for her… for the scent that calmed her heart with a single whiff. So, what she liked was Ling Jun’s scent, yes. That was it exactly! She simply enjoyed her pleasant fragrance!
Knock, knock, knock.
The knocking interrupted their silence, easing the tension in the room.
“Princess, Aunt Fangxian from the Empress Dowager’s side has arrived, bearing the Empress Dowager’s decree,” Xiao Mei announced, her voice tinged with anxiety. She feared interrupting their intimacy and earning their displeasure, but the matter at hand was urgent, and she trusted they would understand.
Hearing this, Ling Jun tried to rise, but her legs, as if boneless, buckled beneath her, causing her to collapse against Guan Qigui, her teeth clacking against Guan Qigui’s lips.
“Hiss…”
Guan Qigui instinctively wrapped her arms around Ling Jun, bracing her legs to prevent further injury.
Too close! Guan Qigui’s heart raced like a trapped deer. Ling Jun’s intoxicating fragrance threatened to overwhelm her senses…
Faced with such beauty, Guan Qigui captured Ling Jun’s lips in a practiced kiss, her hand unconsciously circling Ling Jun’s lower left abdomen with two fingers—a spot she had discovered yesterday, seemingly Ling Jun’s death point.
“Mmm…” Ling Jun’s body went limp, and she instinctively wrapped her arms around Guan Qigui’s neck, weakly pushing her away. When Guan Qigui refused to release her, Ling Jun bit down on the wound on her lips.
“Hiss…” Guan Qigui winced and let go.
“You shameless woman!” Ling Jun spat, her face flushed. “And you dare spout such hypocritical nonsense! ‘I’m sorry’? I almost fell for it! I almost believed you!”
Knowing she was in the wrong, Guan Qigui smirked and whispered in Ling Jun’s ear, “Ling Jun, I’m starting to like you…”
“Let go… What nonsense are you spouting…?” Ling Jun’s cheeks burned crimson. She couldn’t meet Guan Qigui’s eyes; even her voice alone made her weak with pleasure. Had Guan Qigui drugged her? How else could she feel like this…?
“Business first. Let me help you dress. Be good now,” Guan Qigui said, patting Ling Jun’s firm bottom twice. The feel was surprisingly satisfying.
Furious! Ling Jun was about to explode with rage! She was being manipulated and couldn’t retaliate. Her face flushed crimson, she bit down hard on Guan Qigui’s collarbone.
“Hiss… Are you a dog?!” Guan Qigui groaned, remembering vaguely that Ling Jun had bitten her several times last night as well.
“Hurry and get dressed! If Aunt Fangxian comes, we’ll both be in trouble,” Ling Jun snapped. Ever since Guan Qigui had done that—the thing Jinjiang wouldn’t allow—Ling Jun had been giving her the cold shoulder, her words laced with resentment. It was as if venting her frustration over being pinned down the previous night could somehow erase her humiliation. Next time, I’ll be on top! Ling Jun suddenly startled. Next time… what am I even thinking?! Guan Qigui must have drugged me…
In the courtyard of Changyang Palace, Aunt Fangxian had been waiting for nearly half an hour. The Empress Dowager was expecting her report.
“Has the Princess not risen yet?” Aunt Fangxian frowned.
“The Princess has been unwell lately and hasn’t been sleeping well. Xiao Mei has already gone to wake her. Please wait patiently and have some tea, Aunt Fangxian,” Anxin said, pouring a cup and offering it.
Xiao Mei helped Ling Jun to Aunt Fangxian. Ling Jun coughed several times before speaking. “Aunt Fangxian must be impatient. The wind was strong these past few days, and Lian Chen seems to have caught a cough. Please forgive her tardiness.”
Aunt Fangxian waved her hand. “Princess, your words are too kind. Your health is paramount. I will convey your message to the Empress Dowager. Please focus on recovering these next few days.”
Ling Jun forced herself to stop trembling and bowed slightly, then feigned discomfort with another cough.
“Yuchi Lingjun, hear the decree.”
Lingjun knelt, straightening her back.
Aunt Fangxian opened the Imperial Edict of Benevolence and read aloud in a solemn voice: “By the Empress Dowager’s benevolent will, Princess Yuchi Lingjun of the Rin Kingdom has served diligently and respectfully within the palace chambers for many years. Her grace, refinement, and exceptional character embody the virtues of gentle tenderness and virtuous wisdom, reflecting the beauty of tranquility and righteousness. Her dignified composure sets a model for all. We and His Majesty are deeply pleased by her merits. Therefore, we hereby decree her betrothal to Feng Yi, son of General Kangzheng. Let the appropriate officials select an auspicious date for the wedding. By imperial decree.”
Lingjun was stunned. With a trembling hand, she reached out to accept the edict. “Lian Chen receives the decree.”
Seeing Lingjun accept the edict, Fang Xian’s eyes filled with joy as she offered her congratulations. “Congratulations, Princess! This servant must return to Shoukang Palace to report. Since Your Highness is unwell, it would be best to avoid the wind and rest.”
“Thank you for your concern, Aunt Fangxian. Lian Chen understands.” Lingjun stared at the edict in disbelief, her lips parted slightly. Even though she hadn’t attended the Empress Dowager’s gathering yesterday, the Empress Dowager had still proceeded with this… Had even Yuchi Yanqing failed to win Feng Yi’s favor? Or was it… that none of that mattered? As long as the crippled princess married him, Feng Yi would be completely at the mercy of the imperial family…
Xiao Mei helped Lingjun rise and led her back inside, sighing. “Princess… you and Young Master Guan…”
Ling Jun suddenly understood. She and Guan Qigui had already become intimate. If she married Feng Yi, it would be impossible to hide the truth. Her life would be forfeit…
The thought brought tears to her eyes. She had no desire to marry. Having arrived in this world without family or support, even survival felt like walking on thin ice. Now, her fate remained in the hands of others, leaving her feeling utterly powerless.
As she entered her chambers, Guan Qigui rose to greet her. Seeing the familiar face, Ling Jun bit her lip and threw herself into Guan Qigui’s arms, burying her face in her neck and sobbing uncontrollably.
Xiao Mei quickly turned away, her face flushed, and closed the door behind her.
Guan Qigui gently patted Ling Jun’s back, asking softly, “What’s wrong?”
“Qi Gui… Lian Chen is getting married…”
Guan Qigui frowned. For some reason, the news of Ling Jun’s impending marriage stirred a surge of anger within her. A dark, murderous glint flashed in her eyes as she demanded, “Who is it? When did you become involved with him?”
“The Empress Dowager has decreed my marriage to Feng Yi. I don’t even know him—how could we be involved? See for yourself.” Ling Jun choked back her tears, handing over the imperial decree. She surreptitiously inhaled Guan Qigui’s scent, as if it were a healing balm. I must be poisoned… poisoned by Guan Qigui’s venom, she thought.
