The Villainess Is Pretending to Be Sweet Again Today (Transmigration) - Chapter 59
When Nuo Yang received the call, she was quite puzzled. She didn’t know how Xi Qingwei had gotten her number, but upon a little reflection, she realized her information wasn’t exactly hidden—finding her phone number probably wasn’t that difficult.
Xi Qingwei’s tone on the other end of the line was cheerful, and Nuo Yang could hear the noisy background, as if she were in a crowded place.
“Um…” Nuo Yang felt awkward. She had never been fond of blind dates to begin with, and given the awkwardness between them, she hesitated before saying, “I don’t think we’re that close…”
Calling someone after being blocked didn’t seem like something a person would do after just one meeting—it felt a little too familiar.
“I know, I won’t take up much of your time,” Xi Qingwei said, twirling a lock of her long hair. “I’m shooting an ad near your place. How about grabbing a meal together later?”
“I have plans today.”
“What plans?”
“Just… stuff.”
Nuo Yang couldn’t think of anything specific, but she simply didn’t like this kind of sudden invitation.
Xi Qingwei didn’t press her, just tapped her toes lightly and said, “Then just remember to add me back, okay? We can meet up when you’re free. I’ve got nothing going on these days.”
After hanging up, Nuo Yang opened her phone and accepted Xi Qingwei’s friend request. The other girl sent a heart emoji in response, but Nuo Yang pretended not to see it.
It wasn’t until past 7 p.m. that Long Huaichang finally returned.
When she stepped inside, she found Nuo Yang sitting blankly at the dining table, a spread of cold takeout in front of her.
Long Huaichang glanced at the food—all dishes she liked.
“Sis.”
Leaning against the back of Nuo Yang’s chair, Long Huaichang bent down to look at her phone. “I’m back. Didn’t you hear me?”
Nuo Yang looked up, startled, and quickly stood. “Are… are you okay?”
“Why wouldn’t I be?” Long Huaichang smiled. “I visited a patient at the hospital, chatted for a bit, and then came back.”
Nuo Yang reached out and grabbed Long Huaichang’s jacket. Beneath the thin outer layer, she wore only a light undershirt—far too little for the lingering chill of late spring.
She could feel how cold Long Huaichang’s body was.
“Why are you dressed so lightly?” Nuo Yang scolded. “Your body temperature is always low. I keep telling you to wear more, but you never listen.”
Long Huaichang squeezed Nuo Yang’s hand, her eyes curving into crescents. “With you worrying about me, how could I ever feel cold?”
Nuo Yang’s face flushed slightly. She huffed. “Always so smooth-talking. I hope you stay like this forever.”
Long Huaichang lifted her other hand, cupping Nuo Yang’s cheek. “If that’s what you like, I can say sweet things to you every day.”
As soon as the words left her lips, Nuo Yang noticed a faint glimmer in those dark eyes before a subtle pressure enveloped her.
The familiar warmth of Long Huaichang’s lips pressed against hers—despite her usually low body temperature, her mouth was scorching, burning against Nuo Yang’s lips until it drove her wild.
This time, Nuo Yang didn’t resist. She had spent the entire day sick with worry.
She feared something might have happened to Long Huaichang, or that she might have been bullied by that family, while she could do nothing about it.
She had wanted to follow her, but Nuo Yang didn’t even know how to drive—how could she go after her?
At this thought, Nuo Yang felt that all her past promises to protect Long Huaichang had been nothing but self-deception. In truth, she couldn’t protect anyone.
Perhaps sensing the docility of the person in her arms, Long Huaichang gently nipped at Nuo Yang’s lips with her teeth and chuckled softly.
The low laughter made Nuo Yang’s ears burn. She knew exactly what she was laughing at and quickly turned her head to leave, only for Long Huaichang to pull her back by the waist.
Stumbling a few steps, Nuo Yang soon felt her back press against the cold, hard wall of the dining room—behind her was the unyielding surface, while in front of her was Long Huaichang’s scorching kiss.
Her wrists were pinned by her grip, and though she struggled, it was only a feeble twist before her strength gave out.
Long Huaichang bit her lips lightly, listening to her shallow breaths, then murmured against her waist, “Sister, why are you so obedient today?”
Nuo Yang’s eyes reddened, her voice muffled with restrained emotion. “You—just kiss me if you want to. Why so much nonsense?”
Faced with such a “stern” reprimand from her sister, how could Long Huaichang disobey? With a laugh, she kissed her again.
Nuo Yang closed her eyes. It seemed her kissing skills had improved compared to before—or had she simply been too startled in the past to notice?
Actually, this little brat was surprisingly gentle when kissing.
Long Huaichang released her hands and whispered, “Sister, your waist has gone weak.”
Nuo Yang bit her lip, clutching her jacket as she rasped, “You’re talking nonsense…”
“If you can’t hold on, just tell me. We can switch positions.”
“You—”
Before she could finish, Long Huaichang bit down again. Nuo Yang’s newly freed hands hovered awkwardly, unsure where to place themselves.
In the end, it was Long Huaichang who guided them, wrapping them around her neck.
The long, searing kiss lasted for what felt like an eternity. Nuo Yang didn’t understand why she was so obsessed with kissing her—her lips had nearly gone numb by the time she finally pulled away, only to move to her neck.
“Ah—”
Nuo Yang couldn’t suppress a soft gasp, her fingers tightening around her clothes.
The petty brat bit down hard, leaving a deep purple-red mark in the exact same spot as the one on her own neck.
When Nuo Yang saw it in the bathroom later, she nearly exploded with fury. She had definitely done it on purpose!
That damn little sister!!!
———
The next day, Nuo Yang took the day off as well.
The two sat at the dining table, staring each other down.
Long Huaichang grinned. “Sister, not going to work today?”
“I took leave,” Nuo Yang replied irritably.
Glancing at the band-aid on her neck, Long Huaichang adopted the tone of an experienced advisor. “Keeping a wound covered isn’t good—it might get infected.”
Nuo Yang’s hand, holding a steamed bun, froze mid-air.
She continued, “Besides, I still have some leftover ointment. Want me to apply it for you? It’ll heal faster…”
Before she could finish, Nuo Yang shoved a bun into her mouth. “Would it kill you to shut up?!!!”
She was absolutely livid!!!
Long Huaichang laughed happily, unable to resist teasing Nuo Yang: “It’s all because you were so well-behaved last night, I just couldn’t help myself~”
Her tone was so mischievous it made Nuo Yang fume, itching to climb onto the table and give her a beating!
Just as the two were fooling around, someone knocked on the door.
Nuo Yang glanced up and muttered, “Has our home become a bit too lively lately?”
Back when the house used to be quiet and empty, she never noticed, but now that it suddenly became bustling, it felt rather unfamiliar.
Long Huaichang turned to look and, seeing the doorbell still ringing, said to Nuo Yang, “Sister, I’ll go check.”
Peering through the peephole, Long Huaichang fell silent.
Nuo Yang, thinking it might be someone from the Long family again, cautiously approached and asked, “Who is it? Why aren’t you opening the door?”
Before Long Huaichang could answer, a clear voice came from outside: “Sister Long, open up! Jiang Li and I came to see you!”
Outside, Shi Tian knocked again and said, “Sister Long, open the door. We brought the homework the teacher assigned.”
From behind the door came rustling sounds, as if someone was roughhousing.
When no one responded, Shi Tian turned to Jiang Li and said, “Is Sister Long not home?”
Jiang Li also wondered, “That can’t be. She’s sick, right? She wouldn’t have gone to the hospital this early.”
“Then why isn’t she opening the door?”
“Try calling her again.”
While Shi Tian knocked, Jiang Li called Long Huaichang. The phone rang inside the house, proving its owner was still there.
Jiang Li glanced at the door and hung up.
Long Huaichang soon cracked the door open slightly and asked the two outside, “What are you doing here?”
Shi Tian waved a bag and said, “The homework the homeroom teacher assigned for the week—it’s all here.”
Long Huaichang grimaced. “Just throw it away. I don’t want to do it.”
“That won’t do,” Shi Tian said seriously. “If you don’t do it, who am I supposed to copy from on Monday?”
Long Huaichang gritted her teeth. “Copy from anyone you want! Now take the homework and get lost!”
Shi Tian was puzzled. He knew Long Huaichang wouldn’t get angry for no reason, and today, it didn’t seem like real anger—more like she was hiding something.
The two exchanged glances before asking Long Huaichang, “Why won’t you let us in? Are you hiding something?”
Jiang Li added, “Yeah, Huaichang, where’s your sister? I wanted to see her.”
Hearing her name mentioned, Nuo Yang couldn’t help but startle.
Neither Long Huaichang nor Nuo Yang were in a state to meet outsiders. Long Huaichang could manage—the marks on her neck had mostly faded—but Nuo Yang was another story. Hers were still fresh.
“Today’s not a good time. Maybe next time.”
With that, Long Huaichang shut the door, leaving the two outside bewildered.
Seeing the door close, Nuo Yang finally let out a breath of relief.
If anyone found out about her relationship with Long Huaichang, she’d never be able to clear her name, even if she jumped into the Yellow River.
Long Huaichang turned back to glare at Nuo Yang, wearing an expression of guilt and slight grievance. Nuo Yang shot her a warning look before she could speak, when another round of knocking came from the door.
The incessant knocking was starting to wear on Long Huaichang’s patience. “I’m really not available today,” she said irritably. “Shi Tian, come back another time.”
But then a different voice came from outside the door—two familiar voices chimed in with concern: “Nuo, are you that sick? Cheng Bai and I came with the company’s well-wishes to check on you!”
Support "THE VILLAINESS IS PRETENDING TO BE SWEET AGAIN TODAY (TRANSMIGRATION)"
An absolute delight to read! Nuo Yang and Long Huaichang are absolutely delightful together, and their personnality are an absolute delight, they both lives their live fully, and it really does feels like a slice of life most of the time instead of the drama you would probably expect from this type of synopsis. Long Huaichang burst of jealousy are super endearing, she never goes too far with it and reading her cursing “This lustful sister of hers!” in her mind whenever Nuo Yang talks to a pretty girl is always a fun time.
If I had a slight criticism to make, it’s that Nuo Yang can be a bit too idle about their relationship once they start getting more romantically involved, but it’s overall a minor complain and I really had a great time with this story!
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback! I’m really glad you’re enjoying the story and their interactions. Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts! <3
