The Villainess Wants to Indulge in 'Moe' to Her Heart's Content! - Episode 2.3
“Could it be… that commoner girl again?”
Selva’s deep, wine-colored eyes darkened with concern. Letizia hastily shook her head.
“No, it’s nothing like that. That’s not the issue.”
Of course, it wasn’t as if she had no concerns about Marina Grayford, the heroine of the game.
Lately, Marina had been visiting Licht nearly every day, always coming up with some excuse to approach him and the other distinguished figures. Yet, her efforts had been completely futile.
Almost every time, before she could even earn a single glance from Licht, Isaac would step in and promptly send her away.
It didn’t seem like Marina was after Licht himself. Rather, it felt as though she needed him to trigger the crucial first step—the event where the prince personally guided her around the academy. Without that, she wouldn’t be able to establish connections with the other romanceable characters.
(It really feels like she’s trying to recreate the exact setup from the game…)
For a moment, Letizia wondered—could Marina also be a reincarnated person? But then again, in a game, it was only natural for the protagonist to act in ways that reflected the will of an external player from another world.
In that sense, wasn’t it actually more unusual that Licht wasn’t following the game’s original storyline at all?
(That’s why everything has become so confusing…)
Nothing was progressing as it had in the original story, which left Letizia completely at a loss about what she needed to do to avoid her impending downfall.
This past week… had felt like a complete dead end.
Of course, she still had an entire year before her supposed fate would be sealed, so perhaps panicking now wasn’t the right approach.
So yes, she did have concerns about Marina—but they weren’t just minor worries. These were concerns that directly affected her future.
“I appreciate your concern, truly. But no, this is just a personal matter.”
“Is that so? If you say so… But really, why does she keep picking fights with you? Licht seems thoroughly fed up with her as well—it’s becoming quite the nuisance.”
“……”
At those words, Letizia sighed inwardly.
From an outsider’s perspective, Marina’s attempts to push the game forward made her seem completely unaware of social hierarchy and oblivious to her place.
And Licht—his response couldn’t have been colder. He wasn’t just indifferent; he shut her down so thoroughly that even Letizia, who had once played as the protagonist in the original game, couldn’t help but feel a twinge of sympathy for her.
So, sometimes… just sometimes, Letizia couldn’t resist offering a helping hand.
But for some reason, Marina’s reactions to that were always excessive.
Glaring, dismissing her with cold words, or outright ignoring her—those were still tolerable.
But yesterday, Marina had finally snapped—and ended up screaming at her in a fit of rage.
