The Villainous Aristocrat's Efforts Led to a Genuine Harem - Episode 32
Episode 32
We had reached the deepest part of the dungeon.
Vilias had completely entered her own world. Though she was still tagging along with us, she had been staring at the mithril the whole time.
Well, if she ends up being able to create some kind of new weapon from that, then that’s fine.
At the deepest part of the dungeon, I was facing off against the King Mithril Golem that had appeared.
It looked like a larger version of a regular Mithril Golem. It had what seemed like a crown sitting on its head.
“…Whoa, if we could bring back this mithril, that’d be incredible.”
“…Yeah. For now, I’ll fight alone up to a certain point. Inaesia, stay on guard duty for Vilias.”
“Got it.”
I entrusted Vilias to Inaesia, who nodded. And I stood face-to-face with the King Mithril Golem.
…Since we entered this dungeon, my level seems to have increased a fair bit.
Let’s see how well I can fight against the King Mithril Golem as I am now. I’m looking forward to it.
First, I started the battle as usual using my Gladius.
It seemed like my attacks were doing damage. But it was probably only a small amount.
“Gaaah!”
The King Mithril Golem swung its arm in frustration. But I calmly dodged and continued slashing with Gladius.
…The attacks were getting through. But it would take time.
I could use space magic to attack, but… this is, technically, also a story event meant to resolve Vilias’ dilemma.
If I just finish it off with my spatial magic, it won’t help Vilias grow.
So I continued poking away with my Gladius.
It might be a dull battle, but hey—I’ve played all sorts of games.
This kind of task doesn’t bother me at all.
However, to the two in the rear, it probably looked different.
When I glanced over while dodging, they looked a bit worried.
…Especially Vilias. The weapon I’m using now is one she made.
Seeing it not be very effective might be making her anxious.
…That’s a good sign.
This battle with the King Mithril Golem is a kind of event battle.
Once its HP drops to a certain point, Vilias will use the mithril she has to make a new weapon.
The latter half of the battle is meant to be fought using that mithril-made weapon.
…So for now, I’ll just keep fighting like this.
Just as I was thinking that—
The King Mithril Golem’s movements sped up. …Oh? Could this be that special move from the event battle?
It’s a powerful area-of-effect attack that deals heavy damage.
“Gaaah!”
The King Mithril Golem slammed both fists into the ground. And the earth shook violently beneath me.
At the same time, a magical shockwave spread outward. I jumped to dodge it.
…Ah. I dodged it.
In the main game, the protagonists always got hit by this move and the whole party would end up in a crisis.
Crap. I might have messed up the trigger for the event.
As I landed, I hurriedly looked toward Vilias—
She was biting her lip tightly.
But then, as if she had made up her mind, she gripped one of the mithril pieces in her hand.
…Light began to gather in her hand. I’ve seen that before when she was smithing.
“Gaaah!”
The King Mithril Golem noticed and began rushing toward Vilias.
I shot spatial magic at its feet to stop its movement and make it fall.
“Right now, a genius blacksmith is working. Don’t interrupt her.”
“Agah!?”
Right after I said that and glared at the King Mithril Golem—
A strong burst of light shone from Vilias’ direction. A dagger had been born in her hands.
“…Ryō. Use this.”
With those words, she threw the dagger toward me.
It’s a Mithril Knife, huh?
I unsheathed it and slashed at the King Mithril Golem’s neck just as it was getting back up.
“Gah!?”
The King Mithril Golem let out a surprised cry—but one blow wasn’t enough to finish it.
…No, this scene should be the kind where one blow *does* end it.
After all, Vilias awakened and used her blacksmithing skills by her own will.
So, I used spatial magic to slice apart the lower half of the King Mithril Golem’s body that it was using to stay standing.
“Gaaah!?”
With an especially loud scream, the red glow left its eyes. Its body collapsed—
And then it vanished.
After the battle ended, Vilias ran over to me.
“…Are you okay?”
“I’m fine. But more importantly, that was a one-hit blow.”
I looked at the Mithril Knife and muttered absentmindedly.
“…Amazing, me…”
“Don’t say that yourself. …Well, I mean… you really are amazing, though.”
“Praise me more.”
“Yeah yeah, amazing, amazing. …So, what’ll you do with this Mithril Knife?”
I held it out toward Vilias. But she shook her head.
“That’s for you. You can use it.”
“You sure?”
“Yeah.”
Heck yeah!
Of course, getting this was part of why I worked so hard up to this point anyway.
