The Villainous Young Lady Would Even Risk Her Life for Her Beloved ~ Her Fiancé, the Prince? By All Means, Please Be Happy with the Heroine! - Chapter 1.37
In this world, the Adventurers’ Guild does not have a ranking system. However, evaluations within the guild do exist, and the jobs assigned to adventurers vary depending on their reputation. New adventurers gradually build trust and recognition by delivering monster materials posted on the guild’s request board in this town.
(No way… She’s really here…!)
The adventurer, Yulia. She is one of my favorite characters in the original story. She has a strong personality, yet she’s straightforward and compassionate. Her combat abilities are undoubtedly among the best in the series.
She must still be in the early days of her adventuring career. Her hair is long, tied up high in a beautiful blonde ponytail. But there’s no mistaking it—that’s Yulia. She appeared to be discussing which request to take next with a male companion, likely her partner. This was something I had never seen in the original story.
(Should I try talking to her later…?)
The spacious and bustling guild entrance was filled with numerous request postings on the walls. Several guild staff members were engaged in discussions with adventurers about various assignments at the reception desk. Further inside, there appeared to be an inn and a dining area exclusively for adventurers.
(Ahh~! This is it! This atmosphere is amazing!)
“This guild is much larger than the one in the royal capital.”
“That’s true. The number of adventurers staying here is significantly higher.”
Having already experienced this excitement before, the two of them were comparing it to the royal capital.
Among the crowd, I noticed a group of people with black hair—something uncommon in this country. They had likely just arrived from the eastern lands. Since they seemed to struggle with the language, they were relying on gestures to communicate. However, the guild staff appeared accustomed to this and smoothly filled out the necessary paperwork.
I wondered if my father had once gone through the same process when he first came to this country.
“Hah!? What the hell is that supposed to mean!?”
A sudden outburst of a woman’s voice echoed through the entrance hall.
“Calm down…”
The man she was arguing with responded in an exasperated tone.
The one causing the commotion was Yulia. She was still yelling, drawing attention from those around her. Two guild staff members stepped in, urging them toward the entrance as if this kind of trouble was a common occurrence.
“Fine! We’re done here!”
“Good riddance. We never got along in the first place.”
(A breakup!?)
With that, Yulia stormed off toward the dining area, while the man walked out of the guild.
“Oh dear, looks like their party just disbanded.”
“I’ve heard that finding a good partner is quite difficult…”
In the original story, Yulia was a solo adventurer. I suppose a lot must have happened before she ended up that way.
(Stay strong, Yulia…)
She bit her lip tightly.
“If we were adventurers, don’t you think we could aim for the top?”
Surprisingly, it wasn’t Lord Finley who brought up the topic, but rather Leonhart.
“With me and Leonhart as the vanguard, Luca and Jeff providing magical support, and Liddy handling healing… What a luxurious party that would be!”
“No, Jeff prefers to fight on the front lines. So does Liddy.”
“Haha! Then it would just be a group of frontline fighters!”
Lord Finley seemed genuinely amused. But I wondered—did Leonhart know what Lord Finley truly wanted for his future?
As we continued talking, the three of us browsed through the various request postings, imagining different scenarios. What would happen if we took on this request? Isn’t this payment too low for the job? What could the client be using these materials for? We indulged in endless “what-if” discussions. It was a world we were not permitted to step into easily.
“It’s just that society wouldn’t allow it.”
“…What?”
I hadn’t meant to say that out loud.
“Oh, um, never mind.”
“Our positions wouldn’t allow it either.”
Leonhart had understood my meaning. I saw Lord Finley’s expression darken slightly.
“…You’ve heard about my parents and my uncle, haven’t you?”
Trying to turn the conversation into a joke, I exaggeratedly brought up my family’s stories.
The first to burst into laughter was Marcus, Leonhart’s knight escort.
“M-My apologies!”
“No, I meant for it to be funny.”
Not long ago, I had caught sight of Prince Trua from the neighboring kingdom. If one was willing to abandon everything they had, perhaps such a path was not entirely impossible. But the higher one’s status, the more they had to relinquish.
(In the original story, Leonhart attempted to renounce his right to the throne…)
For the sake of being with Iris.
“…Am I really that easy to read?”
Lord Finley smiled wryly.
But none of us answered.
This wasn’t a conversation that should happen just yet.
“No way! No way, no way, no way!”
“I’m sorry! I knew it might be inappropriate for Liddy…”
“You’re wrong, you’re wrong, you’re wrong! I’ll treasure this for the rest of my life!!!”
When I returned to my room, I found a neatly wrapped box placed on the table. Inside was a set of clothing—adventurer-style attire. Just knowing that it was a gift from Lord Finley was enough to make me feel faint with joy, and to think that it was something meant to be worn!
“This shop is used not only by adventurers but also by mercenaries. It seems that veteran mercenaries sometimes purchase gear for their young recruits, so they have a pretty wide selection.”
Inside the box was a beautifully embroidered mini dress, accompanied by a belt with a small pouch and holster. It also included slim-fitting trousers and a lightweight inner top. A short cloak, also adorned with delicate embroidery, completed the ensemble. To top it all off, there was even a pair of long boots. I had seen similar outfits worn by others in town, but this one was undoubtedly of a high-class design.
“It’s adorable! May I try it on?”
“Of course!”
(Unfortunately—or fortunately?) It wasn’t just for me. Lord Finley had prepared outfits for everyone, making it possible to form a proper adventuring party, just as we had discussed earlier.
“You all look fantastic!”
Satisfied with the result, he circled around each of us, carefully inspecting the fit. His expression was filled with pride.
“I wish I could keep wearing this even after we return to the royal capital.”
“I’d usually call that a foolish idea, but for once, I agree.”
“What kind of stretch fabric is this? It’s far more flexible than the knights’ uniforms.”
“And what is this material? No matter how much I pull at it, there’s no damage at all.”
Everyone was praising the clothing. The texture felt surprisingly familiar to what I used to wear in my past life. More than anything, it was lightweight, stretchy, and easy to move in. Unlike mine, the men’s outfits consisted of a shirt and vest as the top, paired with short boots.
“Almost all of the materials used in these clothes come from monsters.”
That explained why they weren’t popular in the royal capital. If it were made from something visually appealing, like a peacock dragon’s hide, it might be acceptable. But most monsters had terrifying appearances, making their materials less desirable among nobles.
“The knights in my household wear the same kind of fabric—it’s incredibly durable and light.”
“This… should be introduced to the royal knights as soon as possible.”
Even though the knights’ uniforms were already far more practical than the dresses I usually wore, they were no match for this attire.
“Fred is already working on that.”
At that moment, drawn by the lively conversation, Lady Lias entered the room. Lord Finley immediately stiffened, and the rest of us held our breath, bracing ourselves to be scolded.
“I’m not going to reprimand you. Honestly… you should all be grateful for everyone’s patience and generosity.”
“But really, this clothing is incredible.”
“Thank you. However, once you know what it’s made from, you might not want to wear it anymore.”
She smiled mischievously. Perhaps this was her true personality.
“I’m relieved that you’re all enjoying yourselves.”
“Yes! This place is absolutely wonderful!”
It truly felt like something out of a fantasy novel from another world.
“Lord Finley! I’ve returned!”
A young knight came running in, holding a letter in his hands. He must have been one of the knights sent after Fred and his group.
“Damian!”
Lady Lias’s voice rang out sharply.
“Ah! My deepest apologies!”
But he did not slow his pace. Youth had its own momentum.
Everyone’s eyes were locked on the letter in his hand.
