- Episode 4 - Trap? Looks like it was avoided?
“Mirellia, isn’t this road a little dark?”
Yang asked lazily, squinting at the end of the corridor.
The guide fairy Mirelia, who was sitting on his shoulder, replied while shaking her wings lightly.
“Yes, pilgrim. From that point onwards, the area is a ‘restricted zone’, so the lighting has been reduced.”
“Wow, that’s some great effort to create that atmosphere.”
Yang nodded slightly in admiration and had a gentle smile on her face, as if she was enjoying an attraction at a theme park.
“…You do think this is a theme park, don’t you…?”
Mirelia muttered in an exasperated voice and sighed softly.
The body that sits on his shoulder is as light as a feather, physically weightless, but the frequency of his mental comments is increasing.
–It’s so natural that it goes beyond being moving; it’s even impressive.

Now, this is the “trap passage” on the first level of the dungeon.
Normally, it is a “danger zone” that only adventurers with a C rank or above are recommended to enter.
The floor is filled with hidden switches, pressure plates, magical mines, ceiling drop mechanisms, arrow-firing mechanisms, and every kind of trap from around the world and throughout history. Even experienced adventurers would have to be careful when stepping into this place.
But.
“Oops! I kicked a rock.”
As Yo walked, he suddenly kicked a pebble at his feet.
It bounced and landed on a magical trap on the floor.
Bang! Beep beep —
The sound of a trap being activated.
The magic circuits instantly activated, and an explosion magic circle was deployed from under the floor.
But at that moment–
Yang noticed that the straps of the backpack he was carrying had slipped off and squatted down to try and fix it.
The next moment, a blast ripped through the hallway, and a fiery pillar of fire passed just 30 centimeters above his head.
“…Did the wind blow?”
“No no no no no!!! It just exploded! And it was a serious one! Normally, you would have been charred to a crisp!”
Mirelia flapped her wings, breathing heavily and raising her voice, but Yo could only tilt his head with a puzzled expression.
“Huh? Maybe the air conditioning was adjusted incorrectly?”
“It’s not air conditioning! It’s a proper magical trap! It’s a dungeon defense device made to defeat people!”
“Well, if it’s dangerous, they should just put up a warning sign. Like, “It’s easy to fall” or “Watch out for fire” or something…”
“That idea is already out of the ordinary!”

From then on, Yo’s “miraculous avoidances” continued.
for example–
– Trip over the switch on the floor and roll through it
-Crouching directly under the falling trap on the ceiling, just in time to escape
– Successfully avoided by stepping back to get a drink while in the line of fire of the arrow
And so on, he repeatedly avoided things that were clearly “impossible even if aimed for,” treating them purely as coincidences.
“The ground is a little rough today. I wonder if they’re doing some maintenance?”
He doesn’t seem to care at all.
Such was her unawareness that Mirelia’s retort voice was already hoarse.
Meanwhile–
In the observation control room at the center of the dungeon, the spirits were in an uproar.
“An abnormality has occurred in the trap passage on the first floor…!”
“All magical mines detected were activated… and yet they went through without any damage…?”
“Magical interference… zero. Evasion skill… not activated. Target is a <<normal human>>.”
“…No, such an evasion rate is physically impossible…!”
A cold tension spread among the observing spirits lined up in front of the control panel.
Finally, the high-ranking spirit who had been sitting on the couch in the back with his eyes closed opened his eyes and murmured.
“So this is the Blankwalker…”
The recorder hastily wrote with his magic pen.
“The record for passing the trap section of the first floor is three times faster than the previous record… a new record!”
–Quietly, certainly.
The “legend” of Shiina Haru has been added to the list once again.

Eventually, at the end of the passage, a spacious space spread out before them.
The ceiling is high, and in the center is a round stone seat. There are carved reliefs of what look like ancient characters around it, and the crystal lights are pouring in a gentle light from the ceiling.
“…Oh, it’s beautiful. Does it look a bit like a temple?”
“This is the ‘Chamber of Rest’. It’s the halfway point of the first level. Thank you for your hard work, pilgrim!”
“Thanks. But I don’t feel that tired.”
“That’s the scariest thing…”
Mirelia lowered her eyes and muttered softly.
An entity that “passed through” that trap zone “unharmed, unaware, and calmly.
I couldn’t help but think that a pilgrim was a title given to those who lacked common sense.
Yo sat down on the central stone and rummaged through his backpack.
“This is a good place to take a break. Would you like some snacks, Mirelia?”
“Yes! Thank you!”
“Wow, you’re eating it! That’s impressive.”
“I told you! Stop treating me like a child!”
Haru spread out a can of coffee and some convenience store bread and enjoyed his breakfast as usual.
Having an elegant breakfast in the depths of the dungeon with a fairy on my shoulder.
If you didn’t know the situation, it would seem like a heartwarming scene from a trip.
And then, the break was about to end.
At the back of the hall, a new “staircase” quietly appears.
The way to the second level.
This is a dangerous area that would normally be tackled by a party of experienced adventurers.
However, Yang took one look at it and said without any hesitation.
“…I think I can go a little further, so I’ll stop by.”
–It was a major incident for the world.
However, for Yo, it was just an extension of his morning walk.
Today, with another step, he slowly destroys the world’s common sense.
