- Chapter 11.1 - If a Kiss Could Make It Faster…
In just a short moment, Feng Jingzhuo’s palm was scraped, leaving his skin torn and bleeding. Several smeared bloodstains were left on the ground.
A black gu worm slowly crawled up his neck. His fair skin made the dark creature appear even more eerie. Under his thin skin, the veins beneath his pale blue complexion pulsed lightly as the worm moved.
It climbed up his neck, passed his chin, and finally coiled on his cheek, resembling a shattered tear mole.
Feng Jingzhuo’s eyes were dazed, his breath wasn uneven. He tilted his head back helplessly, his vision growing blurry.
No, no.
Even if no one was watching, he couldn’t let this happen.
Suddenly, he shut his eyes tightly. When he opened them again, a hint of clarity returned. He frantically searched the ground with his hands. The chair he had knocked over earlier was now in pieces. Sharp wooden splinters pierced his palm, but he gripped one without hesitation, turning its sharp tip toward himself.
Once. Twice. By the fourth or fifth time, the gu worm was startled. It quickly retreated, crawling back down his body and disappearing under his collar.
The itch was gone. The invisible chains that had bound him disappeared. That tiny trace of sweetness vanished as well.
Feng Jingzhuo’s right hand slowly dropped. His fingers loosened, and the wooden shard clattered to the ground, rolling away, leaving behind a trail of scattered bl00d droplets.
Kneeling on the ground, he remained motionless for a long time, staring blankly ahead. After a while, he raised his hand and covered his face.
The once flawless, fair skin on his cheek was now torn and bloody, like a piece of fabric ripped apart, leaving behind a horrifying mess.
His brows furrowed tightly as he endured the excruciating pain in silence.
After a moment, he lowered his head and stared at his clothes feeling astounded.
How did he manage to make such a mess of them?

The next day, when the sun was already high in the sky, Ning Yao was still fast asleep.
She had long developed the habit of staying up late and sleeping in. Although her sleep schedule was terrible, her cultivation efficiency at night was much higher than during the day. Over time, even her grandmaster and elder sister stopped bothering her about it.
Wrapped in a blanket, she slept soundly.
In her dream, she ascended to godhood and finally reached the divine realm she had longed for. A grand and magnificent ceremony was held in her honor. The gods smiled warmly at her, offering their blessings.
“Divine Lady Ning Yao, your power is boundless.”
At the front, the legendary Emperor God, Wu Ji Yan Zun, summoned her over with a kind smile. He assigned her an easy job—one that was both leisurely and rewarding.
The golden divine plaque in her hands was dazzlingly beautiful. Overjoyed, Ning Yao barely held back the urge to jump for joy. Instead, she reached out gracefully…
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Ning Yao shook and woke up.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
“Ning Yao! Ning Yao!” Ning Yuzhu shouted from outside.
Damn it.
Ning Yao squeezed her eyes shut, both heartbroken and irritated. She yanked the blanket over her head, determined to go back to sleep and return to her dream.
She shut her eyes tightly and buried her face in the pillow, trying hard to regain her lost dream. But no matter how much she tried, she couldn’t return to that golden divine palace.
“Ning Yao! Ning Yao!”
Frustrated, she flung off the blanket, rolled it up into a ball, and tossed it aside. She stormed forward and yanked open the door.
“Do you have any idea how important that moment was?! Do you know how much you just ruined for me?!”
Ning Yuzhu looked confused. “What did I do?”
He blinked in confusion. “What exactly did I interrupt?”
Ning Yao’s face darkened. “Ning Yuzhu, you’d better have something urgent—something so important that if you don’t say it now, you’ll drop dead in the next second. Otherwise, I swear I’ll beat your real form into a polished relic!”
Ning Yuzhu was completely baffled. He glanced at her expression, which clearly screamed “I am very annoyed.” Then, pushing past her, he walked into the room and plopped down on a chair.
“I quit!”
Ning Yao raised an eyebrow. “Oh? And who exactly do you think you are? What grand job are you throwing away?”
Ning Yuzhu slammed something onto the table and repeated, “I quit! He must have a problem with me, right?”
Ning Yao, amused, smirked. “That’s an interesting way to put it. Who doesn’t have a problem with you? You’re so annoying that just saying they ‘have a problem’ with you is putting it mildly. Most of us want to beat you up.”
But Ning Yuzhu is shameless. Insults never fazed him. He sneered right back. “Annoying as I am, I’m still not as bad as you! You must have really pissed off Feng Jingzhuo. He even scarred his own face to prove he doesn’t want anything to do with you!”
“What?”
Ning Yao finally glanced at what Ning Yuzhu had placed on the table—a jade jar filled with the beauty cream he usually used for skincare.
Right. Today was the day for Feng Jingzhuo’s treatment. But the ointment, which should have smelled like black sesame, was still full and untouched.
“Scarred his face? Are you sure it’s not just your medicine being ineffective?”
Ning Yuzhu gasped. “That is an outrageous insult! An insult!”
Even though he was furious, Ning Yao still looked at him with suspicion. He was even more irritated.
“It has nothing to do with me, okay?! I just don’t get it. He has such a good-looking face—why would he do that to himself? What was so unbearable that he had to take it out on his own face?”
Ning Yao didn’t respond. She seemed lost in thought.

Ning Yao didn’t really love Jingzhou. She just used him. Too bad for him suffering for a thousand years in guilt for killing her when that was really her goal in the first place.
